- DMed Pattaya on Sukhumvit is excellent. I have bought 3
- hearing aids and “Fang” or “Mukda” are both great.
- The new Widex ‘Moment Aids” are fast and clear snd
-
probably the latest in the market.
dMed is directly across from Pattaya Orphanage...

Health insurance is just too expensive so I have been taking my chances.
I am from San Francisco and still have an address there. I am now 85
and have lived in Thailand for 24 years.
So far so good.
If I require hospital care, I hope to quickly end it there.
i have no health complaints and take no medication. lucky lucky......

I have lived in Naklua, Wong Amat for 22 years. Originally from San Francisco. It is close enough to Pattaya for shopping & esentials but living in Naklua avoids the bars, drunks & night life. Beach is great and good restaurants abound. Home theft is virtually unheard of here.
The sleepy downtown Naklua has fairs, markets and waterfront seafood restaurants. AND peace & quiet.

I live nearby LC and take several cruises.
Usually there is an Thai Immigration Officer who comes aboard the Ship who can issue Visas.
If not, there is an Immigration Office in nearby Jomtien that can help you.
You can drive your car inside LC and park near the Ship to meet arrivals.

Yeah, I guess I'm pretty healthy and lucky.
I'm retired from San Francisco, have lived here single (Naklua) for 22 years. Wow, that doesn't seem possible.
I am 82 this year. No health complaints. I still drive my Honda, fast walk the treadmill slightly uphill 3 times a week, only make myself maybe one drink a week. I have never smoked.
But I tire easily now, generally feel a lack of energy, but never see any Thai doctors. I do try to have an exam once a year or so.
My blood pressure is low, cholestral borderline low, blood sugar a little high but OK.
I have enjoyed my life living alone in Thailand. Don't go back to the States much anymore, maybe every 3-4 years.
I cook my own meals, eat out a couple of nights a week, and have a housekeeper who comes twice a week.
I enjoy several old movies (TCM), not much for the newer ones, and love the NFL Games.
A good life, so far no aches or pains and no medication......

I usually find some tender lamb chops in top hotels & fine restaurants.
But if I buy them at grocery meat counters they are tough and I usually discard them. Expensive & disappointing..

For me, in & out in 10 minutes......superb!

Tuk Tuk in departure area at Airport is $7 to your hotel. Find an older (slow) driver who speaks English.
Can you live independently?

I always admired my uncle while growing up. He never married, managed a radio station in Calif, and had
a life doing as he pleased. I modeled my life after him, although I married at 39 and had two daughters.
Divorced after 10 years, as we weren't getting along., I moved to Thailand in 1995.
Now i am 85 (86 nest week) and have lived alone for 26 years. I am used to being single and enjoy it.
I have a housekeeper who comes twice a week and i bought a condo and live on the waterfront in Naklua,
a small community near Pattaya. I have Thai woman friends who visit infrequently but I don't need a full
time companion now. My daughters come yearly for a visit and of course i miss them.
But I am happy and would not change my lifestyle. sanmyn at yahoo com for those who would like more
info on living in Thailand.
