I am constantly amazed by the naïvety of people oin this forum. Some of whom are even supposed to be, by their own statements, intelligent enough to be teachers.

OP at 35 your teerak, contray to what you think most likely has a husband, EX-husband and maybe a few sprogs hidden away somewhere, she may be working in a job far away from hubby said sproggies....and is shagging anything she can get her hands on and she is looking for a cash cow to finance her life styles....and this is where you come in dear boy and possibly a few others on the hook....

Sociologists call it "cart horse syndrome" where, after 50+ years of work, the harness is taken off and a green pasture is in the offing, but the poor old thing withers and dies despite all efforts of friends and loved ones.
It is a comment on the false values and soul crushing nature of western society IMHO.

it is also age specific,
I retired, very well off at 40, and spent the next 14 years partying, spending, traveling, etc.,
now at 54, I am a lot less rich, pretty tired, and bored beyond belief

Third, I have only sent my gf $400 total. That's it. I haven't been sending her money home on a weekly basis.
Fourth, I haven't been fleeced yet. I don't plan to be used.

Well you can thank suthep for all of this. if he had kept his word (which he did not) in the beginning whenthe Pm dissolved Parliment non of this would have happened. But he is just too greedy and wants to be the supreme commander of Thailand in a dictatorship similar to North Korea

I am on a very popular island right now. It's literally a ghost town. Incredible. Bands playing to empty venues. Not a person there enjoying the music. I feel sorry for the locals.
Indeed - I have been called a fool for saying this would happen too. And much sooner than many may think possible.
I've seen some mock 'empty threats' of leaving LOS, and I'm putting my money where my mouth is.
I'm in KL for a visa to go back one more time, so I may get my belongings, and then I am off...
I think I'll check back in with this site for entertainment purposes, from time to time in the next couple of years.

Ladies and gents, there are other hot countries to explore (some with no ridiculous property / aircraft ownership laws too), also with nice beaches... Just a shame there is not a national sport of Muay Thai there also (the original reason for my coming to LOS).
This visa & military mess is going to hit the Thai everyday people so bad - Patong was a joke last Sat night. Not been in a year and it was a shadow of its former self, in terms of numbers of people.

The baht is a VERY local currency, and even Thailands closest neighbors don't want it.
Laos wants US greenbacks,
Vietnam, same
Baht can maybe go to 34-35, but thats it,
no one really cares about it

And know doubt the economy will suffer like hell the rich will get richer the poor will be a lot poorer and the baht will get weaker but should the latter happen I will not complain more baht in my pocket !

I would even say, $250 is nothing, and would willingly go forward, if it was my girlfriend, If I was the only one sliding inside of her, and if I was there to ensure the money wasnt going to her "brother"
