Yes, but in Thailand it appears to be quite common!
It is quite common: an idea comes up, not a moment of reconsidering the pro s and cons made public wait untill somebody thinks it over and then it goes: miscommunication. Same with tax ideas, 1 Rai land for foreigners etc etc

unbelievable that the local authorities can mandate this. Understand that they require that the bolt drivers and orange shirt drivers stay away from each other but a decision about nummerplates ??

He said that vaccine producers had been hampered in their ability to sell vaccines in Thailand due to demand in the countries where they are produced.
So Thailand is the only country that can not get vaccines because other countries want to have vaccine too?? Strange explanation for failing vaccine policy
What he said is not correct. outside the governement nobody is allowed to buy vaccins~! That is what prayut said two days ago. That is a pity because for instance the hospitals have proposed to buy vaccins themself. Forbidden !!!

thailand is not top expierienced in development of medicines but do often have an own opinion about everything. Just wait what the other countries decide about the expiry date. Then you will know who is right. Was or is the same with requirement of vaccinated people. The start requirement was that the vaccination could not be older than 3 months. Do not know if that is still the case but there is no reason for this extra retuirement.

something wrong with the information. The first group is mentioned with the number,. 30.738Wha
Retirees were part of the group that account for the second largest amount of foreign arrivals. No number and not mentioned if that is the second largest group.
no mentioning of the third group.
While the stats didn’t specifically identify if tourists had entered under the Special Tourist Visa or Thailand Elite program, they are likely included in the listed as “People under special agreement such as businessmen, tourists & retirees (24,852)”.
Those married to Thai nationals were the 4th largest group, with some 9,618 in total arriving in Thailand, while students and ‘other’ made up the remaining arrivals
Question. I see a first group, retirees are in the second group, So that is in the group of 24.852 . A fourth group is mentioned but that are, if you calculate 16281. What kind of people are that?

At this time all visa for medical treatment issued by embassies and consulates are non-o visas that allow a 90 day stay. That 90 day entry can be extended for up 90 days at immigration if the supporting documents from a doctor and hospital justify it.
i have tried to do it. But the requirement is a letter of a hospital in your country stating that the medical treatment is NOT possible in your country AND that it is urgent. If you live in a western country i am afraid you can not get such a letter !

Were you talking with Thailand Elite directly, or dealing with an agent? My own understanding is that an existing visa and/or extension of a previous permission to stay should not be a problem if you are outside Thailand. On arrival, you are not obliged to use an existing visa or reentry permit if you have a better alternative, in this case the new Thailand Elite visa affixed to your passport on entry.
Saying that the visa (if they really mean a visa) can only be cancelled in Thailand is completely backwards. A consulate outside Thailand can cancel a visa, but Thai immigration cannot do so.
thanks for your reply. I am very happy with that. I did not talk with the thai elite directly but the agent did. I have send a mail to the thai embassy in europe with the question: can you cancell an non o retirementvisa that is still valid. Waiting for an answer.

Hi everyone, just looking for some information regarding recent experiences with obtaining the Thailand Elite Card during covid-19.
1. After application approval, how many days do you have to submit payment?
2. After application approval, if you decide not to move forward and not pay, is there any penalty or negative consequences? Could you apply again normally in the future if you wanted?
3. Based on my reading in the forum, if on the 2nd year of an O-A visa (expired Nov 2019 with last entry into Thailand in Oct 2019) with a current permission to stay stamp until October 2020, this permission of stay can now be cancelled by CW Immigration within Thailand and the new Elite stamp issued? Is my understanding correct during this covid period?
Thanks for your assistance.
item 3, cancelling of permission to stay. Yes, thai elite visa informed me that i should have my visa (non o retirement 1 year) cancelled by CW immigration and after that i could apply for a thai elite visa. Unfortunately i am in europe so no chance going to thailand and having my visa cancelled.

If you are outside Thailand, there is no problem. If you are inside Thailand on a non immigrant extended permission to stay, there have been reports that it is not possible to convert this to a Thailand Elite entry and permission to stay. Under normal circumstances, the easy solution is to fly out and back, getting the visa at the airport. I am not sure if Thailand Elite has negotiated other solutions in this time where that would clearly be impractical.
i am being informed that if you are outside thailand and want to buy a thai elitevisa, you can do that only if your current visa, for instance a one year non o is expired. If not, the non o has to be cancelled. That can only be done inside thailand !!

i am being informed that it is not possible to apply for a thai elite visa if your current visa, for instance 1 year non o is still valid.!! This has to be canecelled in advance but that has to be done insde thailand. Maybe i am totally wrong, hope so, but thai elite visa agent told me that.

skeptric7 started this topic by telling us that he is outside of thailand, has a non o visa (extension) that expires 3rd of januari 2021. he wonders if he can get a elite visa being outside thailand. The answer is yes BUT i want to add a element that could be worriing.
I am being informed by Elite visa that it is NOT possible to get a elitevisa as long as your original visa is still valid. That would mean that skeptic7 can not apply for an elitevisa before 3rd januari 2021.
Hope that is not true as i happen to be in the same situation. Myvisa was issued by the thai embassy in the netherlands dated 3rd naj 2020 and expires 3rd of januari 2021. So exactly same date. Was hoping that thai elite members were able to enter thailand qwithin a few months. For that reason i have contacted thai elite company with above mentioned result: not possibleto apply before jan 3 2021. Any comments or knowledge that helps? Tha nks

There is no health insurance anywhere in the world that would specifically cover COVID-19 infections; and certainly not for a whopping $100,000 coverage amount. In fact health insurers far and wide - public and private - have all put COVID-19 on their exclusion lists.
But maybe the good prime minister - and his public health clown - are not aware of that; like of so many things.
can only be exluded for new subscriptions for health insurance.

So.. No more reporting TM30. Which our local IO insisted I do even for one night away from my permanent address?
Sorry but i remeber that if your landlord did not fill in the TM28 the foreigner was punished with a fine. So you are still at the mercy of the system!! Or am i wrong.?

Result = almost no tourists.
I do wonder how the 9,000 foreigners treated over the last year causes 448 Million in bills to be unpaid.
Even if we're talking 10x the normal billing for foreigners.
448 mill baht divided by 9000 makes about $ 1508 per person. So looks ok

I have taken 3 international trips out of BKK airport in the past few weeks, and as far as I know they do not even look at that form. My TM30 is stapled into the passport, but it does not seem to have been unfolded and looked at, so I think you are fine. However, make sure you do file the report when you get back to Thailand.
If you have stayed in a hotel you can not present a TM30 or TM28. And checking bij the officer in the database would be timeconsuming. But having said that, i go in and out thailand at least 10 times a year. Without TM 30! Never had a question about that.

I tried to tell people. Every time there is a crackdown on illegal immigration it always comes hand in hand with making legal immigration more difficult and screwing over those just trying to follow the rules.
Thailand is not going back to the Thailand of 5-10 years ago. They are paying tribute to the new emperors in China. "Farang go home" is the new Thai slogan. Good news is that you can free yourselves of the Thailand chains. Go get your Panama permanent residency in about 2 months and enjoy your freedom. You can own land, guns, get permanent residency and enjoy your freedom they way you are supposed to. Forget all this Thai immigration madness. These are the guys to go through and don't wait before it's too late to make your backup plan. https://www.joyful-feet.com
if you open that website you will see that it focuses on the haoppy few who have a lot of money. So not a real alternative for most thai expats.

interesting topic but using examples of chosen items as pineapple etc for pricecomparisions ihas not many value.
I believe that using inflationrecords of thailand do have more value although the expenses of foreigners will not quite be comparable with the of the thai people. But do have more meaning then pinaapples etc.
