  1. Sound travels... Upwards. Interesting how quiet my suite on the 8th floor is quieter than my suite on the 30th floor. Go figure. Are you high up?

That is physical BS as sound waves are longitudinal waves going in all direction. Theoretically the speed of sound in colder air is higher than in warm air.

Normally when you have loud noise at higher floors it is the result of reflection.

Only want to show that I know something :)

  2. What a Joker, it is the main duty to overlook the election process and raise the voice if something goes out of control and not to come up with comments 2 month after the election. The comments from now could be easily made 3 month ago and Thailand could have saved a lot of money. Still ( but that is my humble opinion) the group around K Suthep is responsible for the failure of the election as they blocked the registration and finally the election process.

And now what is the result more month of K YS leadership? An election which will further split the Nation?

I only hope the God will rain brain and this time may be more people will not use the umbrella.

  3. I think half of the Thai visa member have to go to jail as many of you have mentioned and promoted the split of Thailand. Read your old emails you hypocrites. It was and is in many mind that a split may be happens one day. To ban a party as some individuals make comments like that is not appropriate. The party should expel this members that should be it. Anything more will widen the gap between the two group even more. It's time to consolidate not to divide more.

  4. It's amazing to see all this arguments towards the Thai rules. Guys check the situation in your own country if you would be Thai and come to live in your country. You think visa runs O visa etc. would be options. In most countries you have to know the language. With all the hassle Thailand is still easy going. To have 400K Baht on a bank account should not be a problem. You can get a work permit, what else you want?

  5. I really hope Chalerm whips his ass - I know of no other country who would allow threats like these to go unanswered use water canon, baton rounds and gas and finish him off

I have not met a Thai yet who supports him - and that includes those who do not particularly like Ying or PTP - I think a strong, robust response would gain huge support from ordinary Thais

    but TIT etc.

Wow, you must not have met many Thais. Practically every Thai I've met or know supports the Anti-Government movement and Suthep. I would say that out of the hundreds of Thais in my network, perhaps only three or four support Thaksin and Yingluck. This includes Thais living in Thailand and The United States.

You must be a teacher dealing with the kids in Bangkok. You better talk to other Thais from the rural area. Whatever you say if there would be an election today with all parties participating it still looks like that YS would come out first.

  6. Time Must have corrupted many of your brains, Thaksin opened the airport, but it was planned far ahead of the Thaksin time. After the opening cracks where found in the runways true, have they been stopped the use or opening of the airport no. The crack were normal "setting" cracks most of them even not in the main runway. At that time everything was blamed to Thaksin even lea King water lines. The design was done by a architect who design also the airport of the city of Cologne and as most of the special designs the look has dominated the practical use.

Swampy will never become or has been as great airport it is only big because of the strategic location. What is around here KL, Singapore to far South to cater the Chinese Market, to the West is India and India is nothing, you don't want to be there if you don't have too.

  7. This is all so wrong it stinks of PTP desperation at the lowest level.

2 Billion baht in donations....... cheesy.gif .... you have got to be kidding.

Photoshop is a very clever tool nowadays, and if that is a land deal, on that piece of paper... then my mum is Ghandi.

I wonder what's next? Suthep is Spanish??

Your Mum is Gandhi than your mom had a sex change also ?

  8. What I really don't understand is that why this guy, who definitely is fluent in Thai, has been in the Kingdom for 50+ years, probably makes millions per month, and considers himself a Thai, hasn't applied for Thai citizenship?! Is it only me?

Indians will feel like Indians their whole life. There are born into a cast which is of utmost import ants to them, here even with a lower cast the can become a big fish but it will never turn them into Thais. Look at the Indian Families after many Generation with or without a Thai Passport they still stay Indian, they marry Indian (. Did not see many interracial marriages), they still dressed like Indian. As we say it looks like Indian, it smells like Indian it talks like Indian may be it is an Indian.

The popularity with the common Thai is not very high I am sure many of you know the Thai saying about the rattlesnake ......

That Suthep is now making a big fuzz is only political motivated don't even think remotely that he cares!

  9. Am I the only one who thinks that this deportation is just an excuse for someone looking to steal business from the guy? They won't issue an order for the average Indian Joe but for someone who has huge market share...

I'd bet a million $$$$ that someone close to the governing mafia plans to get their hands on his business. Of course, huge percentage of the gains would head straight to Dubai

I will gladly take your wager.

What exactly would this "business" be that you believe so valuable? You speculate in grandiose fashion. Now please entertain us with an explanation of this man's "huge market share". If I am not mistaken, he is a lobbyist and a promoter. What exactly is there to take?

Exactly he is a small potato, has a small agency nothing fancy. He has his 5 minutes of fame and it cost him dearly.

  10. Suthep was on the stage last night and told Sathit, "Come camp with us".

This guy is taking advantage of the Indian fellow, do you really think he likes what he did, he is only using him to hit back on Chalerm. I spoke with some Indians yesterday they r all pissed off with the guy, as he does not represent the Indian society. They guy is a nutcase let him go.

  11. He's paid his taxes, he's lived in Thailand for 50 years, he has a family who is here, probably a Thai wife. Why are they singling him out for news coverage? If he is found guilty and deported, then it follows logically that everyone standing at his side in protest should be guilty and jailed or deported.

What is wrong with your guys here somebody can be here as long as he life's he will not become Thai, he may be will get a permanent residence that is it. He is still a guest in Thailand. Nothing more and when the host decided enough is enough than is it. He was warned, it ws published in the news and also on Internet and if I am not mistaken even here in TV. He should be careful what he is doing as an representant of The Indian Chamber he should know better. No political statements should be given by an industrialist.

And as far as he is a Thai by heart, BS Indian will always stay Indians even after Generations. They marry an Indian lady, they stay close in their society, speak after generations here their local language, keeping their Indian Passport. Not like the Chinese which have become Thai.

Send him home to learn what it means to be a guest

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

  12. I don't understand.and all the fuzz. The guy is a foreigner and not a Thai and therefore a guest in this country. Nothing more and guest have to follow the host's rules. Is like in your home if a guest is not following what you say you will ask him to leave. He/.shem could. Not claim that he was siting on your sofa for a long time.

Staying here for a long time does not make you a Thai. Especially Indians they never assimilate they always stay as Indian. Even after generation they will be still Indians, wearing their traditional dress, talking in their native language hardly mix with other races. How many Indian do you know getting married to Thai.

5 days or 5 years no difference don't break orders by the government. If you do face the consequences. He was knowing what he did.

Btw I don't thing that he as a director of the chamber of commerce is representing the Indian industry's opinion.

  13. The situation would be absurd that even a author of a movie could not come up with this story. The court will close the PTP and expel more than 300 old or new MPs and also the Democratic Party abusing the constitution para 68 and also not allow the members of the party to be involved for 5 years in parliament. No parliament only solution the appointed committee as proposed by Suthep. Therefore Suthep should support the PTP in the request to dissolute the Democratic Party. At least he would get what he wants. And he was not a member of the Democrats during his initiated crisis. I am sure that is Suthep's master plan.

  14. Investors will vote with their feet as the Toyota Chairman said. Our company has put an investment on hold. The real impact of the Suthep action you will only see in the midterm as investment decision from now will show the impact later. Thailand was always the place of investment despite some less favorable conditions (majority shareholding by Thai, restrictions on experts etc.) . It was the stable political situation which have given confidence.

The Thai politics were always in favor of the industry and therefore of the money. Subsidies were given in large amount to the industry, BOI privileges with tax heavens, the government paid for the infrastructure etc. There were a lot of Goodies given, now when the different government is doing the same to the farmers by subsidizing the rice it is called a betrayal of the Thai people and worse word than that. Most of the countries are subsidizing the agricultural industry the US does the EU does and most probably many Asian states do the same. It is not the present government who is responsible for the actual disaster it is a bunch of people who see that the money is flowing in a different direction. How can a normal person support a group of people who have no program, want to install an appointed group of "integer " people to rule a country. How can a group of people take away the basic right of people to express their will by voting? And here in TV all this experts in Thai Politics are supporting this BS.

  15. I am not sure if love is always what guys expect. If they have reached an certain age come here to Thailand to find Miss Beauty Queen young pretty sexy do they really expect love in return for their wallet. Is more a marriage of convenience which is fine as well.

I am married to a Thai for ages having children together and we grow old together than a marriage is the same as everywhere no difference when they wife is Thai and the husband is foreigner. But if the age difference is too big than it is not love may be friendship at most ( there are always exceptions to the rule) and that is again the same everywhere in the world.

  16. I think the whole issue is blown out of proportion

    1. Business tycoon? He own an advertisement company, not more than that.

    2. He joined hand with the protestors against a warning in all news that foreigners have to stay out

    3. He is not Thai ( Indians normally will never change as they are proud to be Indians) he could have changed his citizenship as he can speak Thai is living here for long but he did not, therefore he is ( in the future was) a guest in Thailand.

    4. Violating rules given by the government will lead to a punishment everywhere in the world. It is not our or anybodies job to judge if this was a good or bad order by the authority. He violated the order knowingly and now he has to face the consequences.

For me that is a normal process. That he is here for 50 years bad luck for him. I am sure that he can read Thai, he did know what he did therefore I am not feel sorry for him.

  17. The obsession with Thaksin is a tragic comedy. Instead to grant amnesty and put strict condition to that, the opposition is giving Thaksin more importance than he deserves. The problem is not Thaksin it is the rich establishment of Thailand, which want the power back. They are using Thaksin to give their ambition a face. Demonstrating against a government against laws will never mobilize so many people but to have Thaksin it is easier. The question is not how will it be after Thaksin the real question will be how will it be with him. It's time for the opposition to address the problems of Thailand that includes also to get a better potential to the north. May be than they would have a chance to come back in power and that with democratic means.

NO---Thaksin is the tragic comedy-----grant amnesty, who will do this PTP ??? with what conditions ??? the reason for it was near solely for his benefit alone.

Thaksin has been in the press most weeks for 3 years, because he thrives on his importance. his ambition is crazy to want to come back to take the helm -because he still is stupid enough to believe his own ego. To me it is a greed sickness only-together with this limelight thing. Using his sister to achieve it and could well have her jailed---he cares about that ????..... I wouldn't do it to my enemy.

Do you really believe with the removal of Yingluck the problem of Thaksin will be solved. He will be still there, people in the North will feel that they have no rights. The solidarity with Thaksin will be even more. Is that the good condition for a start.

Only a cut with amnesty will bring people together. It is better to have Thaksin in Thailand with strict conditions, than he would be under control at least up to a certain level. You can believe me I never liked Thaksin but you have to admit that he is playing his cards well.

  19. you mentioned abot getting rid of the Chinese Thai elite, good lets start with the rebel rouser first -the one that is still today causing thee problem--The big Chinese Thai himself Thaksin.

Thaksin in his Machiavellian style power play started for real the political awareness among poor northern Thais. He probably never intended it to become such a large political force, he just wanted the top spot in Thai government by using them.

Anyway, he and his sister will some day be voted out of power but the awareness and political influence by voting are here to stay. If the Bangkok yellow elite tries to deny the northerners from voting, it could turn very ugly.

If it was your business that was going under-----you would sack the management first----then (vote) recruit to start on the right path.

You would never let them stay in management.

If it would be the business the management change would be done by the shareholder, in this case by the Thai people with majority vote.

  20. Brainwashed into believing that any positive development in their area is a result of Thaksin and PTP.

Or perhaps they had been lied to by other political parties for decades and got no investment in their areas but then Thaksin came along, said he would do something, and did it. No brain washing required, they just look around them and see what a difference Thaksin governments have made to their lives.

There have been many politicians and leaders from Issan who have no political ties to Thaksin or PTP and who have done a lot for the region. They just don't go around beating their chests and lying about it in order to gain some advantage .... or a few more billion.
May be people should look back in the past. tahsin made his money before he became PM. He sold his empire and most of the money is frozen or confiscated by the Thai court? Why is everybody talking that Thaksin gained so much money during his time. He sold his companies for 1.75 billion US $. I am not saying that he is clean and a good person but all this talking about that he exploited the Thai people etc. is not completely trues.

And again the established parties (actually only one) the democrats have never ever any program for the North. The educational and healthcare program of the Thaksin Government were the first laws which guaranteed basic rights to the poor people. You can't blame it to them that they feel closer to the Thaksin government than to any other. It is the mistake of the Democrats that the situation is like that today. They gave without any fight the complete north to Thaksin.

What I blame to Thaksin is that he polarized the Thai society and that will never go back. As long as the Elite feels as Elite nothing will change.

  21. It does not matter how or what the court will rule. It is obvious that the DEM's PDRC/PCAD has violated the rights of the people and continue to do so that it has become a national security problem. Their crimes were committed before the SOE was declared. They are now violating laws related to SOE.

You don't wait for an warrant of arrest when you see a robber robbing. You don't need an warrant of arrest when you encountered people intimidate and threaten you to stop works to join their activities. You don't need an arrest warrant to arrest people who made terrorist threat of shutting down a city if demand is not met. You don't need arrest warrant to arrest people threatened to cut water and electricity supply.

So pray tell what do you need an arrest warrant for? Maybe it is a peaceful protest, people practising their democratic right to say what they think is wrong. Your a fascist, as you call them terrorists.

A peaceful protest? What about the democratic rights of the people who want to vote?

You are calling him a fascist, based on what? If a group of people taking hostage a whole city that is a terroristic act? Nothing against demonstrations nothing against strikes but blackmailing a government is not a democratic right.

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

what about a government that pushes for an election when it is the only party that is standing for election, an election which will probably be cancelled as null and void due to lack of voters. Or do you expect that because PTP are the only party standing they will get all the votes, from all the electorate? lets face it the smaller parties won't make a showing as far as number of votes they get.

As for blackmailing a government? Is it not the government that are blackmailing everyone else if they don't get what they want. Besides it's not blackmail when protesters want to kick the government out. They are not saying give us this or else, they are saying enough to corruption and graft.

Don't blame it to the government that there is only one real party to be able to vote for. It was a free decision of the democrats not to participate. Lack of voters? May be may be not in Bangkok and the south but that is not complete Thailand. A democratic process is also to get elected and be ready to face opposition! To stay out of election or try to hamper other people to vote is not a democratic process.

The protestors around K Suthep are blackmailing the government by asking them If you don't leave the government than we will.... That is blackmailing.
