Being an Indian, if we are your last hope, you could as well dig your own grave, It ain't gonna happen.
The entire Pattaya is a Western Concept, Nightlife never existed in India for 1000s of years nor in Asia. Only through the Western Cultural Influence, nightlife became what it is in Asia. When Westerners went out at night, it was way past our bedtime. We already know Pattaya R&R history during the war, so lets not go there.
Non-Western Cultures can try it, and TRY TO MILK IT without understanding the core CONCEPT behind Night Life and it will crash.
Asians converted nightlife into a money making GREEDY machine. The whole concept of Nightlife has become one big greed driven industry.
Whats more shocking is that Thai's actively are cutting western tourist away, which is incredibly dangerous and the End Game for Pattaya...The people running the show in Thailand are Naive kids ..newsouls, who do not understand Western Culture, The Origin of Money Really.
The moment you remove Western Tourist, The money disappears as well...Money is not simply a printed piece of paper, it has Subtle Energy Associated with it which has to come through a western guy for it to do anything meaningful and stick around to the culture he is genetically associated with..I know it sounds absurd but you cannot fool genetics nature with greed...An Indian Money is entirely different than a western money...flowing through Pattaya...
10,000 daily spend is a Joke but even if its 40,000 per day, it wont do anything for Pattaya sustainability wise. It will disappear. We in India do not have in our genetic makeup to sustain pattaya or nightlife, its a one off thing and 99.999% of Indians will never ever retire in Pattaya.

Thailand is making an incredibly dangerous mistake by trying to shun western tourist. It is THE END if Western Tourist go away..Its Not in the Numbers, not even in the amount of money, Its about Genetics really.
The money of western tourist will STICK AROUND while Money from an Indian, Chinese will disappear, but if you are young, naive you will not understand this but the current condition of pattaya will make you understand the only way Pattaya can ever be revived back is to bring Western Tourist Back..Hell, if i was a mayor, i would pay western tourist to stay in Pattaya.
You need western tourist to sustain a culture they gave to the world.
When you see lot of Indians around and Less and Less Western tourist, the next Wave is not far behind which is one of POVERTY, and Non Economical Activity. We Asians can't think beyond money, Thailand just got lucky due to Vietnam war. This was no ingenuous Thai Chinese mind to create Pattaya..It was a sleepy fishing village, never forget that Thailand. It is the westerners who made what pattaya is today.-

At Least, you can avoid some issues by scanning and targeting the youngest Immigration Officer and NEVER A FEMALE Immigration Officer.
It's not a PC move...but it works....All the problem I had at immigration was with a lady immigration officer or an old guy.
The younger they are, the better....They usually do not care that much unless its very severe...for small small problem, they do not bother - its very much like in day to day office job - The young folks do not care too much about paperwork.

I'm from India. Yoga was never about money. Its understandable though why we need money to run yoga in Thailand.
Yoga is never about profit and loss, these are western corporate concepts attached to Yoga.
You do Yoga the RIGHT way. People will come even from America. Yoga creates an Aura around you, which will attract all the needs you have. The money, location, people will come. Patanjali, the creator of Yoga started with ZERO money, so did BKS Iyenger etc
India being a third world country with less money spread Yoga all over the world. Money, failure has nothing to do with Yoga. It may sound non practical or idealistic thought, however, You loose nothing with Yoga, You will be healthy anyways.
Thai's are not stupid. I even say that Thailand is more spiritual than India. Indians have lost the way while Thailand still has spirituality and I also say that western people are the best practitioners, teachers of Yoga.
Even being an Indian. I prefer a western teacher over an Indian myself. You guys go deeper and do it with all your heart and passion. You guys have figured out Yoga than many Indian teachers.
I would suggest you could add Ayurvedic knowledge to purify the body more with Tulsi etc...which would be an added incentive.
You already got one student. let me know when and where you will start. I will try to come and check it out

I read somewhere that US, British, and Australian passports are worth up to 2000.00 USD on the black market. Like Sharky says, your passport is your freedom, don't give it to anyone!!!
I like that you don't have to carry your passport in Thailand and can just have a copy. I'm not sure that the safe in the hotel room is really that safe either though.
Its more than that....The charm of west is so high in third world countries thanks to Hollywood that people are willing to cut their limbs and give kidney just to be in western countries.
90% of them would end up in Refugee Camps...Its harder for even Europeans to get a decent job now a days....Why do you think many Europeans prefer to JUMP than going back to Europe

Its much bigger. Most of the Nigerians in the 90s were promised a dream and got nothing in return when the Oil was found in Nigeria.
The bigger scammers are Western oil Conglomerates like SHELL and BP who took over all Oil Fields in Nigeria while giving pennies to Nigerians.
When the oil fields were being built, they were told to study, go up in university and they will get a job. All they got was hope.

Just a thought, but I think most of these tough new laws are not so much aimed at westerners as they stick out and by and large follow the rules. It's the people from neighbouring countries that are the real target. It's much harder to distinguish them and they are much more likely to use an fake Thai ID card, especially if they can speak Thai language. They are much more likely to work, own a business or otherwise break Thai laws if they are an overstayer. The article uses the examples of the fake Thai ID card and an example of a Chinese woman. The only mention of westerners is in the photograph and that it's been written in English.
Reality check. These laws are aimed at all non-Thais. All foreigners. Yes that includes westerners.
In fact, these laws are designed to make it easier to target western tourists. The police can just stop any white face and ask for passport otherwise some kind of bribe so they don't have to spend time in jail. It's the Military giving a reward to the police for their cooperation in not opposing the coup.
Unfortunately the police and Department of Labor, and Immigration are so incompentent at doing their jobs that it's come to this. Instead of investigating businesses suspected of operating illegally or hiring foreigners or following up the 90 day address of people who report, they either do nothing or take bribes so that illegals are still stinking up the place.

my... my... Switzerland the hub of pick-pocket crime... I guess the problem of the Thai tourists is that they are only alert to pick-pocketing from Ladyboys but not from girls and "farang"....
on a serious note... yes, of course the problem with theft and other crimes increased in Switzerland over the years and yes, a lot of that crime comes with immigraion / asylum seekers, the statistics of the police clearly show this... but this is the same in every other city all over Europe. Just take this into account:
- as Swiss, we have statistics that show every petty theft, while in other countries, police will not even care about petty theft..
- tourist cities around the world attract organized pick-pocket gangs, be this Pattaya, BKK, SF, YN, Zurich, Interlaken, Berlin, ....
- cities with lot of asylum seekers have higher crime rates, specially drug dealing, pick-pocket, non-violent house break-in
So Thai tourist be warned... if you come to Switzerland, spend all your money very fast on the first day and leave Switzerland immediately when you are broke... it's the only way NOT to get robbed...
I agree..But it is deliberate...Like...Farangs who play by the rules face a tough time getting a visa in Asia , for guys in a third world countries who play by rules never make it to europe...

Not to sound cocky but I have an engineering degree, 10+ years of experience in IT field....I don't want to work on some corporation and be a slave...I want to be independent...start a business in Europe, provide jobs, I want to be a entrepreneur...Its impossible...They want me to be a millionaire or work for some corporations who would transfer me to work on slave wages in europe....They advertise big on Red, Blue visa Card on websites but its all talk...when you apply, you never hear from them...
Why is that? Why is europe not allowing folks who play by the rules to enter freely....
I can also jump on a boat or book a ticket and just land in europe and leech the welfare system...but my conscience does not allow it....I just don't want to go to the dark side...I want to pay taxes and play by the rules...may be only 10% make it...rest 90% are uneducated, low lifes who leech on welfare? Why can't an avg, guy like me, who is educated, has decent income, want to contribute to european economy cant come to europe?

All deliberate ....I'm from a third world country and play by the rules middle class guy ...But I have hard time getting into Europe...I work for American companies, have an engineering degree but they want proof of income, proof of total number of years of experience, proof of address, proof of education yet they can't zero in on my intention of going to europe after providing all documents...They think I will be an illegal immigrant..
However, they allow all undocumented folks, who just book a flight and land in europe and stay on the welfare......It has happened to all my friends..who are good and play by the rules...How can anyone explain this? It seems their multi-culturism is deliberate to cos choas in Europe by importing low lifes from third world countries ...who steal and rob as they don't have talent or education background to compete in European economies...I can learn swiss, german, danish in six months if an opportunity is given, be a positive impact to society

I'm sorry as a guy from a third world country, who goes to western countries never to return back without any paper or money and then leech of off on social welfare.
We are hypocrites....My country India is the worse, millions of Indians are living illegally in the west and no problemo and many have made a good life going to west even illegally...but when a western guy tries to do the same playing by rules even ...he is burdened with all sorts of visa rules
Thailand, Philippines, China, SEAsian countries love to leech of off on the west but don't extend the same privilege .....In my experience, sometimes we just gel with the place, our DNA just syncs with the place we were not born in....but unfortunately, western guys are not afforded the luxury..
Some guys from west....Just love Thailand...Rich or poor, they would just sync in with Asian countries, They feel their DNA coming to life again...many folks in Asian countries feel the same when they go to the west....Visa's have been a bane to humanity for 100s of years now.....Humanity must be allowed to travel and settle in where ever the F*k we want...
These government politics and bureaucracy is killing human soul slowly....People are really frustrated and on the edge living in their own shitty countries...They want to move out, explore and be free....Allow them please

Japanese....90% of all cars & bikes in Thailand are made by Japanese Manufactures.
Discipline....Japan makes the fastest, baddest bikes and vehicles on planet earth..YET...They have one of the lowest roads accidents in the world.
Road Width ...Japanese roads on avg. are lot less wider or of same width than Thailand roads.
Japanese in Thailand....You never see a Japanese showing his skills on super bikes ....like...In Pattaya....He says to a bar girl...These Thai's and farangs don't know how to ride our bikes...come hop in babe...let me show you how to really ride a japanese bike for a 200 mile ride....
You hardly or never read a Japanese involved in high speed bike crash in Thailand ..Google the news....I have never read a japanese, bike accidents in one sentence...its always Thais, Russians, Indians, western tourist using Japanese bikes & cars and getting into accidents...
The point.....Discipline....Japanese have deep respect for themselves & others around...Watch some Japanese documentary on youtube, You will be amazed how respectful and disciplined they are....They don't even have to reach the stage of merits of helmet, seat belts debate...due to their sense of respect to themselves and to the community...they just do it...
Songkran, new years, roads, governments, helmet is just an excuse to hide from lack of discipline in ones life....Nothing will change unless we change ourselves...If Thais had a Discipline test, all will fail even if they pass the driver license test as its easy....but discipline in one life takes time...
I'm not judging others...I'm was also one of the show off kinds, adrenaline rides and impress the girls while drunk guy....However, I have changed after watching Japanese documentaries and their discipline in life overall..I don't own a bike, or car nor rent it...I know, Im still not upto that level..but Im learning from others...
All Thais, farangs must be made to watch Japanese documentaries before riding a bike....Its the sense of discipline that will change the stats on road accidents

and I thought....God....Next is Thailand as this side of the world seems to follow a pattern....If you read the local papers of SEA for some years...You can get the vibe that all countries from deep inside follow a similar time line....
I have analysed this Pattern to some extent....Here is what I see...
1. Japanese....Influence ....They are kinda Top of the Pyramid in Asian Chain of thinking...(I'm Asian myself..)
A) I have never seen or read a Japanese guy riding a high speed bike and crashing and killing himself and others....Just the other day a Russian was killed riding high speed bike in Pattaya.....
Almost all roads accidents in Bike or Car that are Made in Japan or Manufactured by Japanese Companies in Thailand involve foreign nationals...WHY?
The bus was most probably ISUZU or some other Japanese collaboration Made in Thailand...
For all this one year..I have scanned all news involving bike accidents in Pattaya and I have not found a SINGLE JAPANESE involved in it...I don't have stats for other cities in Thailand...But not ONE from Japan in Pattaya....BUT 99% of bike accidents Involved Japanese Bikes...
You never see a Japanese trying to impress a Bar girl by saying...These farangs don't know how to ride a Japanese bike babe....Hop in...let me show you how to really ride a Japanese Bike...and go on 100 miles/hr spin...If you want to understand Asia like Thailand, Philippines etc...We need to understand the Japanese influence ....

Japanese culture is Very Self -Disciplined, Highly Responsible, ....Japan has created many violent video games, fastest bikes, Porn yet crime there is one of the lowest in the whole world.
MY POINT IN ALL THIS is......SEA Culture, its way of life & Discipline, Its roads are Made for upto 40-60 Km/hour limit....
Being Asian myself...We are not ready yet....You give us 180 KM/hr...some of us will go crazy and drive faster to reach that limit..yet we lack the self-discipline for that high speed....
The Speed Limit in Thailand is not in sync with the Culture, Self-Discipline of the country which in turn creates its roads, traffic laws and enforcement etc......Its ok ...In Japan 180, 300 Km/hr bikes will do but not in other Asian countries....
I see more darker days ahead for Thailand in new years and so on.....The equations, stats don't lie....and people are crazy and if we tell them to put 60 hr/limit in Thailand they will bring the race issues in it....RIP to all victims
