  1. When I read about this again Thai hypocrisy, I recall Whistleblower's post commenting on the Dutch mobile toilets decorated with a Buddha painting. Only the topic and persons to be changed. Here it is:

    Posted 2013-01-24 09:05:01

Anuchit Pomthong and Nok Ja held a press conference today to say how happy they were that their online campaign that was launched and updated during working hours (they work for a western company that pays them far in excess of what a Thai company would). Whilst sporting fake levi jeans, a Swastika t shirt, rip off reeboks, a copy rolex watch and smelling of imitation Guess aftershave, Nok Ja said he was happy that this newsworthy campaign has succeded.
We caught up with the intrepid pair on a beachfront in Phuket. As we watched with a backdrop of Immigration officers loading up Rhohingya refugees onto a bus to be sent back to Burma to face certain death or be sold into human trafficking, Anuchit added "I am so happy that Thais have come together on this very sensitive issue to force the Dutch company to change their design" He added "we Thais are a sensitive bunch when something annoys us. And we are also aware of the sensitivity of other nations" Nok Ja chipped in "Thats why when the Japanese visited our country during world war 2 not only did we welcome them with open arms, we actually helped them torture POWs and swept it under the table when they broke the Geneva Convention" Anuchit (getting excited now by the attention) adds "And dont forget we let the Americans have airbases here during the Vietnam war. We sold our daughters/wives/sisters to them for their sexual amusement. So I challenge anyone to say Thais aren't respectful of other people" He added "okay I admit that we were hoping to get something in return for our efforts, like, say the return of Angkor Wat that really belongs to us"
At this point we have to break from the interview for 1/2 hour as a group of taxi drivers complained we were getting in the way of them beating an innocent tourist to a bloody pulp.
When the interview restarted we asked the pair what was next on their "if its Thai its ours, if its not we will copy it" campaign. Nok Ja replies "Well right now we are starting a petition to overturn the world court and the World heritages decision to give OUR Preah Vihear to the Khmers" he continues, "after all they only got it in the first place because we were to chicken shit to fight them one year so we ceded some Thai land to them. Anuchit interupts, "Do you know Thailand has never been colonised by a foreign country!. We Thais are so proud of that. Apart from letting the Burmese come and go as they wished for hundreds of years and eventually moving our capital to a swamp to facilitate their looting and rampaging oh and of course our brief occupation by the japs we have never been colonised! We have a simple method for that sort of thing. Whenever we are threatened by another country we just give them a huge chunk of our country"
When asked how they would be celebrating this monumentous victory Anuchit replied "well I will be out on the town sinking a few beer Laos tonight! (technically beer Laos is a Thai beer, because years ago the land on which the factory sits was Thai but they gave it away to avoid being invaded) asked if his wife would be joining the celebrations Anuchit replied "NO this victory is so big I will have to take out my Mia Noi"
Nok Ja replied that his celebrations would be a bit quieter: "I will celebrate at home" he replied "I dont have the money to spend on beer as i am saving up for a sex change. Then I will go and work in Pattaya and really rake in the money" he continued "Anuchit always has money because his dads side of the family are all policemen who have a large Tea fund and all of his mums side of the family are hookers who cornered the market in drugging their punters and stealing from them" So No, i will just stay at home and tweet my friends on my Knock off Ipad about this earthshattering result, I may however watch a 100bht pirated movie later"
The Interview ends here as Anuchit has to go home sink a bottle of Lao Kaow and beat his wife for not getting any farang punters to shag her her before he goes out to the snooker hall with his mia noi and Nok Ja has 15 excited schoolgirls waiting for him to teach them cheerleeding!

Being a non biased newspaper, we did contact the Dutch advertising ageny involved. Unfortunately they had no comment AS THEY WERE TOO BUSY GETTING ON WITH THEIR F@#&ING LIVES!!!

  2. Whether you agree or not with Thai government officials and the Junta in criticizing the USA's recent comments about Thailand politics, there's no denying that intense anti-American sentiment seemed to ramp up suddenly after Russel's visit. Maybe it was the Junta's mantra for the last six months that the USA and the rest of the free world "understood" the Junta's overthrow of an elected government dulled our senses. it was just blatant propoganda - who cared? Even Gen. Prayuth's initial reaction to Russel's remarks was almost blasé.

I suspect this current anti-American blown-up drama might be part of a broader strategy to justify a rash action planned by NCPO that will shift Thailand further from restoration of democratic institutions in the name of national security. Perhaps the leadership will portray the nation as being unfairly beseiged from all Western-styled democracies and further realign Thailand towards nations whose ideologies are more forgiving and supportive of Thailand's oligarchy. This might be manifested in the extreme with foreign forces allowed to be stationed on Thai soil.

True criticism sometimes hurts and obviously this Junta can not handle that. In fact, what can they handle?

  3. " Columnists praised junta-appointed Deputy Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai for his firm retaliation in summoning American charge d'affaires W Patrick Murphy to hear that Russel's criticism had inflicted a deep wound to the hearts of many Thais."

And nobody has a wound in his heart when criminals rob the country, traffic humans, employ slave labour, destroy democracy, keep the feudal lords in power, brainwash the youths, convict scapegoats, keep hi-so murderers out of jail... And the list goes on. Keyword I think is brainwashing/education. They just don't know better... Sad...

Pushing boats back onto sea with refugees, throwing recognized Lao H'mong refugees over the border to Laos. Just to add 2 to the list.

  4. Apparently this vaccine had priority over the Thai developed vaccine for ebola. Surely the FDA can swiftly apporve manufacture of the Thai ebola vaccine so that Thailand can receive world acclaim like the Japanese with THEIR vaccine.

The Dutch pharmaceutical giant Jansen Pharma is shipping 400.000 sets of Ebola medication out right now. European media say they found the anti-virus.

  5. Could someone living in that area please post a picture of the beacons, clearly seen in the OP picture, in about 1 month from now?

For those who have no camera, just notifying how many beacons are actually left will suffice as well.

They probably wont last, run over and eventually broken off. They should look at a design more like this from South Melbourne Aust. Raise bicycle lanes for bikes only, no pedestrians and you still have your footpaths and sidewalk cafe's blended.

    Counter coup. Tanks.

  6. Why all the bitterness, he was just a Thai who was better at doing things the Thai way than his envious opponents.

jacky, you know absolutely nothing about him.

he won two landslide elections and illegally ousted, while his current replacement won no election and whines about a paper being critical of him.

He bought elections, and had tons of cases against him, used his position to leverage a position of power for his personal wealth & gain, shut down competitors by cheating and changing laws, double crossed business partners.... Wow, what a better individual. A hero for you to bow down to and admire; if you like swindlers.

Yes. So? Just a professional politician like more on this globe. Now we have self appointed army man, promising the world, not a clue about economics & business, millionaire from his Papa's land sale, giving presents away and censuring the media. His minister wants a submarine but even helicopter maintenance is too much to be asked, writing a song which is being pushed through people's throats on a daily base. Populist measures to keep its population opiumized. No, it is all great. Wish the Realistic Man was back on this soil (like the majority of this country).

  7. In a radio speech he also promoted the idea everyone buys a (small) present "not too expensive" to give their loved ones this month and it ended playing his Happiness song. It is a lovely sweet man who wakes up every morning thinking: "How do I keep my big nursery quiet and full of dreams". In the mean while the bone cancer eats Thailand structure further away and the enormous topics to be solved are waiting for a genuine leader/PM.

  8. The NewYork times has an interesting article on this topic

"White House and Republicans Clash Over C.I.A. Torture Report

By MARK LANDLER and PETER BAKER

    DEC. 8, 2014

WASHINGTON — With the long-awaited Senate report on the use of torture by the United States government — a detailed account that will shed an unsparing light on the Central Intelligence Agency’s darkest practices after the September 2001 terrorist attacks — set to be released Tuesday, the Obama administration and its Republican critics clashed over the wisdom of making it public, and the risk that it will set off a backlash overseas."

Yes, leave it to our wonderful liberal Democrats to scatter information that should be in-house (even if true) all over the world and put Americans in danger.

Those cobras would kill their own mothers to score a political point.

Any chance one fine day the USA will recognize the International Court (in The Hague) as most civilized countries do? Or is making more global enemies the goal?

It is true. & Americans put themselves in danger by lunatic Foreign Politics. Not because of the democrats.

  10. I support Abhisit (Mark) direct election is subject to abuse and you will get the same old faces putting up their hand and money changing hands faster than a jockey changing speedo's, the old Autocratic brigade will be in their glory and what's more this method certainly puts the average Thai out of the race for leadership ambitions , under the present system they haven't much of a chance , but at least they can try.coffee1.gif

Remember Abhisit on Constitution Day 2010? The puppy next to Gen. Prem? Thailand needs real personalities.

  11. Generals are not the better politician/leaders for the country, why should they be? Their job is being military leaders. Thats a very different profession. So khun Prayut Chan-o-cha, dont cry, accept reality !

Yingluck has many more skills to run a country with excellent international exposure, than a military discipline trained man. That is my believe.
