Hi there, long time no see

Imo, all is depends on the situation.

Indeed, it can be funny when speak the language with your partner. It can be really rough, or can be nasty and even revenge. If you have an argument, probably you want to scream to the other side by using your native language. Finally, I don't think that speaking onther language is unrespectful per se

  2. Just googled where Thais buy the chinese rice wine (shaoxing ), resulting in just supermarkets. They bought it from in Food land, Tesco Lotus, Villa, Big C, Carrefour etc. (even Makro) .

This chinise rice wine will be at the liquor section of aforementioned supermarkets.

  3. What's kind of rice wine you want (TH, CH or JP)? I am in the Netherlands. We have not that many Asian shops comparing to the UK. I think you just go to the Asian shop there and you will find one.

  4. Thanks again for all that pop up here (and sorry that I don' t mention all names here but i mean to all of you)

It is nice to know you miss me . I am happy for Jockstar for having a baby and sorry for Bina for the loss

  5. Thank y'all for warmly greetings. It is nice to be back here again.

Roughly, my research is about one enzyme found in endothelium and myocardium which produce nitric oxide when the enzyme is function normally and hence it has vasodilatory property. I am working in the cardioresearch (human). My task is to find the regulation of this enzyme molecularly. I am in the experiment of using a novel low molecular weight substance that increase the enzyme transcriptionally in rna level.

Sounds a bit nerd yeh? But I am still being the same crazy Bambi, your old friend :-).

That's all well and nice, but it is not as helpful as your thorough analysis of the sounds that emanate from a public toilet cubicle.tongue.png (It's a classic and one that I read aloud to some of my colleagues who came down with the giggles.)

So you are working on the big NO. You forgot to add that the NO can make the big YES wub.png when it involves phosphodiesterase. Our friend NO is essential to the happiness of some folks in Thailand.giggle.gif

A little bit of shop talk/inside joke to put a smile on your face.

This is seriously hilarious lol . I am not going to that down cascade lol .

  6. "She gave him a month's supply of antibiotics (to kill the parasites) and blood support pills (I don't know what they were). After the month's pills (and he hates pills), he's raring to go, eats like a horse, and comes to me an hour or more before feeding time to ask for his food."

The antibiotic drug is a bacteriostatic drug in tretacycline group. I think you vet gave doxycycline since it is more efficiency. More of the supporting TX is kinda vit B. Bare in mind, E. canis is kind a recurrent. You may have to observe your dogs signs in future.

In fact, this blood parasite is responded so quick with the drug but it does not mean in future your dog(s) wont get this one again.

  7. I do agree with above mentioned. Animals can get allergy from many allergen. If you dog gets again sneezing, theoretically, you have to find the source of allergen and escape form it. Alternatively, you may give your dog antihistamine. You may consider of giving chlorpheniramine, cypoheptadine or atarax. Dose is depended on the body weight and sign.

The best idea is to see a vet.

    Good luck

  8. A character - The Dude.

Many didn't like his style, but if he brought his shovel and dug you, you had made it!

    http://www.thaivisa....post__p__535070

The thread this post came from is also worth a read. Many long gone characters posted on it.

Wow . . that thread brought back to life many posters who used to be part of the daily TV routine - not just The Dude but also Neeranam, BambinA, Boo, meemiathai etc.

The place is less interesting without them.

Boo is working and has a full time job with a very active toddler little boy as well, Bambi is in school and doing very well, great to see her go from strength to strength wink.png

had to edit as it just hit me, he's not really a toddler anymore sad.png

Is Bambi still in the Netherlands?

sorry to dig up the topic. Bambi is now in the NL for her PhD. She went to Cambridge sometimes for her experiments. Anyway, she misses TV friends. She is now back

  9. I got your point patklang as the sake of animal welfare, well-being and intrinsic value ; however, it is kind of "never ending story" argument. Many people who against killing animals but wearing a pair of leather shoes. Many people against animal experiment but love eating steak.

In my opinion, I think we should concentrate on a question (from the poster) and generate the answer. Do not get me wrong. I do not like people who either hurt or kill animals.

  10. I am not in USA, but The Netherlands.

My farang friends loved my dishes I cooked as

1 Stir fry chicken with cashew nut

    2 (deep fried) Spring roll

3 Fried fish with sweet-sour-spicy sauce

4 Stir fried chicken and vegetable with sweet and sour sauce

    5 Pa naeng curry

  11. Hi guys,

I have been in Holland for 4 months. Studying here is quite difficult for me. I have less experience about how to analyze the experiment. In my class there are 98% PhD Students. I have several asian classmates (PhD) we have also the same problem about how to analyze the experimental . We finally found out that the way asian students have learnt is too different from western way.

  12. I am not really sure about the travel insurance is China Airline is a low cost flight.

I would get 20 USD / Kg of my bag's weight (it is 23 kgs)

Anyway, i do not want that money. I jsut want my bag :o

Maybe it'll turn up but did you purchase any travel insurance, a standard policy pays (around) upto $3000 on lost baggage otherwise I'm sure Laopo will be able to give you a few of his old frocks to tie you over.. ?
  13. Dear LeoPo,

Yes, I think I have done several thing you have mentioned

(Did you contact lost and found when you arrived on Schiphol Airport ) - yes, I have got a form that i filled in already

(contact with www.china-airlines.nl) - yes, the secreatry of FVM at Utrecht University is in charge with it

  14. Guys,

I have been in Utrecht, the Netherlands since 31 August 08. However, I do not get my bag yet as it gets lost from the airport.

Funny thing is it was a direct flight BKK-Amsterdam. I should not have any problem yes?

The secretary at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is working hard for that as they email/call the airline quite often.

The china airline can not even track the barcode of the tag. They offer me 5O USD (about 30's Euro) for buying things ..<deleted>! It is nothing in europe.

My sister who lives in BKK also work on it (contact with the Thai side)

    What'd I do next?

    Dank u well.

    Bambi

ps. I went to the "lost baggage room" at schiphol already last Sunday and I was not able to find my bag. How sad..Icried as the weather here is funny. It is cold, rainy and hot in any moment .

  15. I don't understand... :o

If you received your MVV you're able to travel to Holland and as far as I know there's no 3-day rule in which time you have to arrive; kind of must it seems ? That's odd.

Maybe your entrance visa start the 28th August ?

    LaoPo

A letter from the Dutch Embassy ,Bangkok said " you have to report to the municipality within 3 days upon arrival in the Netherlands , to arrange for your residence permit"

May Lord Buddha guides you on to the road of success at what career you had chosen.

Oii .....sounds like you’re much more CALM & MATURE than I was just before doing my study in the US.

As for myself I couldn’t contain my excitements and actually packed my bags "6 mos" before the trip. My mom thought I was rather… CRAAAZY!!! :D

And she was almost on the floor when I brought back “a gift from amerika” - my husband to be & NON-thai too....hehe......- a few yrs later. :o

    Moss

Congrats for 4K and love your funny dogs already :D

Did you `organize` warmer clothing Bambina? September can be ok, but after that it will go to wards Autumn temperatures.

Yes leaving family can be hard, but calling and the internet can do a lot to make it less sad, there are some good deals for inexpensive ( relatively speaking ) phone calling to Asia.

    You will be OK there.

I do not have that proper outfit as i come from a tropical country. I will buy some suited then..thanks

Good luck Bambi. Have you got somewhere to live?

Yes. I am going to live in the student flat. It is about 7 km from Univ..Warande, Zeist .

    Wow, that's fast BambinA !

Welcome to Holland; I advise you to fly earlier rather than later since you need to adjust a little and there's 5 hours difference. You may wish to enjoy the weekend prior to the course start on Sept. 1st.

    Have a good trip !

    LaoPo

I will do my best for the flight..

IND has 3 days rule ouchhh

I've been a bit out of touch but how long are you going to be there?

Have a safe trip and best wishes. :D
