  1. Guess I was wrong about a lack of personal weather stations. :o

    Ajarn :D:D

looks like its going to affect Mae Hong Son quite a bit. So far not much winds here. Maybe by evening, might get some "breeze". read some other websites and burma, yeah already affected. Cat 4 at coast and Cat 3 inwards.

  2. I use a bluetooth headset for skype on my PDA - the main problem with running skype via wifi is the wifi chews through your battery quickly. But you can carry around a cigarette pack sized external battery pack (3300maH ) which you can plug into your PDA to charge or run.

just like monty, your PDA has to be one of those phone PDA's right??

monty, i still find the skype to be a lot cheaper than 008, 009. the quality of which can be quite bad at times. skype just seems to fit the bill. i currently use a USB phone for it but wish i could walk around with a phone instead when i get a call in. dont need to be in front of the com.

  3. You just need any remote control that can 'learn' commands.

    Confirmed.

If you get a programmable remote, you can teach it the signals by means of the original remote, typically by directing the sender/sensor parts of each remote so they face each other and then proceed to assign each command signal from the original remote to the universal one by pressing first a button on the original, and then a button on the univseral remote (which will then perform this command).

are u serious?? that easy? i have a universal at home. Gonna try this trick tonight.

  4. i cant recommend anything better than powweb. 20 gigs space, 400 gigs bandwidth. been using their services for 2 years now. the other host i use for some of my clients is bluehost. right now powweb is having a buy one year, one year free hosting promotion. 7.77 per month with one year domain free.

its better to have hosting done at one of the big guys. simply cause its a lot cheaper and have a lot more going when it comes to customer support and that extra value services such as installation of various scripts etc for u using installed softwares on their servers. eg. fantastico. thai servers are expensive. only time you would go for a thai server is if you are cautious of the thai authorities banning foreign ips (very unlikely unless u plan to run a porn site)

i am an affiliate of both bluehost and powweb. so in case u decide to go with any one of them, id be happy to split my affiliate earnings with you. provided you click on a banner that i provide to u before you sign up with them. (might as you earn something rather than just paying them the full amount). you might take my recommendations as biased since i am an affiliate but do your research and see what suits you best. ipowerweb that thwais recommends is also good. and so is lunarpages and hostgator, godaddy etc etc.

  5. I have been taking strong multivitamins for years and I can feel a difference especially as I have a slight allergy where vit C+B seems to improve things for me.

I take GNC Gold or Megamen(he,he - love that name!) or other similar supplement. In addition I take an extra mixed antioxidant (Blackmores ACE is the easiest to get here - but I prefer the ones that also include more of the new antioxidents such as lucopene, pine bark Etc.). Sometimes I add some fish oil but try to eat fish twice a week.

GNC Gold and similar versions have extras added such as ginseng/garlic/green tea/lucopene Etc. - the doses are however not that big.

Finally I make fruit shakes in my blender (adding a scoop of whey protein) and drink green tea every day.

    Now back to my pizza...

    Cheers!

are u taking 2 tablet a day of GNC Megamen or just one? The GNC people say take 2/day. Bottle says 1. Most internet sites say 2. I am still on 1 tablet per day till i confirm someone else is taking 2 of them. I take Blackmore's C as an anti oxidant.

  6. Hi everyone,

did a search on this forum for multivits but not much info or exchange of information on it.

Just wanted to have something going on whats really a good multivitamin to take for those of us who cannot find time to have a balanced diet. (me one of them)

I was on Blackmore's Exec B and Blackmore's Bio C (1000mg) for sometime now. Went into a GNC outlet in Malaysia and they recommended GNC MegaMen. Two tablets a day in a 90 tablets bottle. A bit pricey it is but thought might as well try it.

My brother is on Centrum and many people recommend it but I don't see anything special in it.

So what do you people out there take and whats the review of it?

moderators please delete this post as no one is interested in replying it. thank u.

  7. Any advice as to where I can seek land of up to 250 Rai (100 Acres)?

A friend of mine is interested in building a golf course w/ condo along the 3rd Ring Road and vicinity.

There seems to be so much empty (raw) land out there, but how can I find out the owner, and if s/he is selling, etc...

    Thanks in advance.

very big plots. there are two plots for sale out towards san kampheng. one about 280 rai plus and another around 320 rai or something like that. its out on highway 1317. right after Karnkanok 1 and Sivalai 3 moobans. you would see the plots for sale on your right hand side just after you past the power plant. seems like a persued area right now with lots of new developments around there and plans for a 4 lane carriageway.

    good luck with your search.

  8. I'd recommend Citalopram to anyone who has a serious need to combat depression. It definitely helped me during the 8-9 months I took it. Paroxetine does not have such a good track record as Citalopram if you look more closely at the studies made.

If you are considering taking antidepressants for the first time, it is imperative that you also consult a doctor beforehand. The pharmacists can be very helpful and some do know their stuff - sadly not so with all of them. There are a few potential interactions which can be dangerous.

For example, NO SSRI's should be used in conjunction with substances based on St John's Wort. Use one, or the other, not both at the same time.

i have been on it for years now. practically changed my life for the better. there are no side effects to it (well not much as compared to other drugs such as tricylics) so i'll still be on it for a while till i decide to kick it off. just that its a bit pricy. approx 40 - 45 baht a tablet. heard they have generics made from india but no way of getting them here. it pushes me back 2000 baht a month at least. sad but happy to be on it.

  9. New courses (all 5 levels) are scheduled to start next time June 5., but each course requires minimum 7 students to take off. They'll go as 4 weeks of 5 days rather than the usual 5 weeks of 4 days.

When registering, there'll be an interview/conversation with one of the teachers in order to evaluate your level.

thanks rishi for the information. will register myself for the june 5th thing then.

  10. i have added myself on the list. i think this link should be promoted. we have several thousands of active users within thailand and this list could be very very beneficial. hope the moderators or owners of this forum would put up a banner on the forum site. instead of just commercial advertisements on sponsors etc.

  11. spots can be anything. ranging from allergies, to bacterial infections to whatever. to solve the problem, i don't see any solution except to make an appointment with the dermatologist.

if that is not possible at the moment, you might want to try using Eucerin Oil Soap to see if it improves, if not, then some mild anti bacterial creams, stay away from steroids eg:Betnovate. but the doctor should be the right person to ask

i dont think its anything serious though.

  12. however bittorrent is a client. would it be the same for azureus? TRUE corrupts the trackers through its connections when it detects .tor files. proxies perhaps does something to prevent TRUE from intercepting? i am not a wizard in this but there must be a reason for rainman to achieve speeds with and without a proxy right?

Bittorrent is a name for the official client and the protocol. I was referring to it in the protocol sense, so it shouldn't matter what client you use. I just did a quick test with a few different torrents using BitComet & Azurues and it made no difference in speed using a HTTP proxy for the tracker connection. True is my ISP (small business plan). Others are welcome to post their results.

i think i agree with u. HTTP proxy should have not effect whatsoever on torrents. Or on using other services such as P2P, MSN, Y Messanger etc etc.

  13. i use torrents to download TV shows that i can't see in thailand ...if i use my direct TRUE connection, i get about 1-3kb/sec download speed, but if i connect my TRUE connection to a proxy server in the US and then through there to the torrent, i get 90-110kb/sec download speed...

Sorry , I smell bs. Bittorrent can't use a proxy for peer connections , it can only use a proxy for connection to the tracker. Using a proxy for connection to the tracker should have no effect on your download speeds. Check this link for details.

  14. i use azureus and the proxy server is just a "tinyproxy" (http://tinyproxy.sourceforge.net/) set-up on a dedicated linux machine in the US.

rainman thanks for the important information. i use azureus and with TT&T Hinet, i can get about as high as 180kb/s for torrents. until i really need a proxy, will use tinyproxy. seems like an excellent proxy server.

it still amazes me how i downloaded a 12 megs file somewhere last month and got 920kb/s. just that one time. hmmm..

kingkorn, get a new ISP. try maxnet. still dont understand what buddybb has to offer.
