  1. There is an app in playstore called 'Traffic D เดือนด่าน' which could help, not with a lawyer, but Thais report check point locations to warn others. It will highlight them in Google maps for you if you can't read the location in Thai. As others have said though, it makes little sense to drink drive in Pattaya when there's taxis available. Rather than drink drive, I prefer to stay at a cheap hotel near where I'm drinking and drive back in the morning instead.
  2. It's impossible to say the time due to other factors such as weight and food intake. Generally though it considers the number of beers within an hour and then you subtract 0.1 for every 40 minutes of drinking. He looks quite short and not very well built so I'd guess 160lbs. He could have had 5 small beers (33cl) in 2.5 hrs and get that reading. Regarding zero being the safe limit as others have suggested, I had one large bottle of beer this evening with my meal and drove home 3 hrs after starting the beer. I see nothing wrong with that as I was well under the strict legal limit here. Yes I wanted another beer, but it's not worth the risk. The law is the law. I personally feel zero is unreasonable. Every banana or slice of proper bread you eat contains a very small amount of alcohol. Alcohol free beer even contains alcohol.
  3. I generally have no problems with the other things you have said about him as they don't carry the same weight as labeling someone racist. I 100% agree that he is an odious, entitled bully though.
  4. I could be wrong and if so please correct me, but isn't the legal limit in the US .80mg? I know we are not in the US, but it would at least add some perspective to how 'drunk' he was.
  5. I don't see how assuming a Thai was Chinese in the dark is racist. Regarding calling me a troll for commenting on your abusive language toward him, I think the matter speaks for itself. I'm not going to stoop to your level.
  6. I have no idea; I don't know the guy. I believe that he may not have done it to someone his own size (a bully) but I fail to see racism here.
  7. Erm... Where is the evidence that he is a racist? You've been calling him all sorts of names in this thread, which I don't mind, but you will lose a lot more credibility if you start making things up.
  8. The yellow one is nice, better than the snowy one. The blue one is too weak, but I guess if you're watching the carbs it's better than nothing.
  9. I don't blame her as such, but I'm not happy with her sense of entitlement. It just shows how addictive the vape can be. Many seem to be as addicted to vaping every 20seconds as they are having their phone in hand at all times. Not good for their lives at all.
  10. The police pulled me over for going through a red light in Bangkok. It was at a raised railway crossing where the light was before the line, but by the time I got over it I saw a red light 30m ahead. As I felt I was in the middle of the road, and that I couldn't reverse back onto the railway line, I floored it. Police pulled me over a few meters further down the road. I'm always extra vigilant if I drive that way to Bangkok now (near Phaya Thai).
  11. I didn't initially catch your sarcasm, but I rarely see westerners getting any kick out of all the blood and gore. The Thai news on the other hand... I personally watch videos like this and ones with road rage to remind myself to slow down a bit and take it easy on the roads.
  12. A thrill? Seeing random people being taken out is not a thrill. It reinforces how dangerous the roads are here and I feel fortunate that I was not in that mux/ fortuner. I am also glad that 18 wheeler was OK as that could have become really ugly on the other side.
  13. By not caring in the slightest about him, I cannot wish death upon him. But if he dies, I care not one iota.
  14. As a burger expert in Thailand you should try Nakorn Mu burgers. https://maps.app.goo.gl/C3Njh5WAabMM3xoF6 When I see a new beer, I buy it, just so I know what it's like. I assume it's the same for you and burgers.
  15. That's a big one. Fortunately all of the innocent ones are okay. I couldn't give a fig about the driver who caused it though. There's simply no excuse for that.
  16. Only the I5 in those pictures has a good grill and lights that don't make the car look electric (and in my opinion cheap).
  17. I was just reading the worst joke ever thread. You may as well put this in there. The word sometimes generally means between 20-50%. I don't need to do a study to call bs on that.
  18. What utter rubbish. What sampling method did they use? They detest normal people so would never speak those because they are 'wrong'. They'd never ask the younger generation because they are also 'wrong'. No doubt they spoke to their friends and probably asked Muslims tourists.
  19. I only get these incessant adverts when using my phone. Unfortunately for me, I prefer using my phone rather than getting the slow laptop out. Many times when the plane advert comes up, I decide to give up and not bother with the forum.
  20. Now this is the type of incident that deserves prison in my opinion. This man is clearly a danger to others and should not be free to roam the streets.
  21. Just because he doesn't agree with it doesn't make him a homophobe/bigot. I disagree with him, but he has a right to his opinion.
  22. It's definitely catchy. I like it. Out of interest Proton, do you see much violence at the concerts you go to? My Facebook reels seem to show lots of fighting at events like this. Are fights few and far between or quite common from your experience?
  23. I think this song is going to be quite popular for Songkran. Released today. My Thai friends like it a lot, and the pretty lady in the video.
  24. I don't understand why posters like you have to go to such extremes and wish such hardship on others. By your words, their actions were foolish, that means lacking good sense or judgement. I thought maximum everything would be for intent, not making a bad call.
  25. I'd rather the people deciding their fate have access to all of the CCTV and then decide what happens to them. If they were to charge them, I'd rather see a large fine and send them back to New Zealand. No one was injured and the prisons are already full. What benefit is there of sending them to a Thai jail apart from causing mental and potentially physical suffering to two people who caused pretty much zero damage. Prisons in my opinion should be used to keep dangerous people away from the public, not for revenge.
