  1. I know it's not very helpful but there is a clown who is at Sukonta Moo Kata on Huay Kaew often in the early evening entertaining children and he is just great. I used to have his card but I've looked and can't find it now.

    @ elektrified:

He's a friend of mine...and he's quite good at twisting balloons and with the kids.

    @ bluweyze:

PM me for his number if you still haven't found one.

  3. @Mousehound

First of all, no intention to self-promote...but in response to the questions asked...

I'm the manager of Econ Car Rent.

We are only four months old company and have had only nearly 20 customers so far, so, most probably many haven't heard of us yet.

We strive to provide rental cars at the lowest price possible in Chiang Mai.

Our latest low season rental rates as below:

    - * Daily rate: 800 Baht/day

    - * Weekly rate: 700 Baht/day

    - * Monthly rate: 18,000 Baht/mo.

    * Prices are all inclusive of Tax and Comprehensive Rental Car Insurance.
    * We also provide free drop-off and pick-up service within 12 km of downtown Chiang Mai.

To verify that our vehicles are properly insured, we could provide you the contact number of our insurance company and you may call them and provide them the rental car license plate number and they will look it up for you.

As for theft waiver, if the rental vehicle was stolen along with the keys in it, then our insurance company wouldn't cover it.

    @taotoo

I can understand your suspicion because there are many companies whom although declared that their vehicles are covered by 1st Class Insurance, what they didn't specify is that it's a 1st Class Personal Car Insurance and not a 1st Class Rental Car Insurance.

  4. I stumbled across this interesting website which talks about the various government schemes and the backgrounds to them. Corruption is frequently mentioned and (no surprises here) linked to just about every scheme undertaken by the Thai government including the rice pledging scheme.

    http://altthainews.blogspot.com/2014/02/thaksins-war-on-99-continues-this-time.html

From the results of the NIDA survey it seems to me that the majority of the farmers are not the poor uneducated people they are made out to be. They seem to be well aware of the governments role in the failure of the rice pledging scheme.

    Exactly.

The farmers aren't as stupid as many here claim them to be.

The farmers knew exactly what they are getting into but as long as they get to share a pie of the pie, they are more than happy to support the "schame" (a mix of scheme and scam).

No! I'm not blaming the farmers here! If I am one of the farmers here in Thailand, I would have supported the schame too; because any other parties never-wouldn't even let them pick on the breadcrumbs.

If only the Demorats could get off their high horses and break the ice-barrier between the hiso and noso, then, only then, things might really change; and then, only then, Thailand may have a chance of separating the poor from the grasp of the manipulating Big T.

Note 1: I was thinking of deleting this post even before I post it...as I was pretty drunk...but...decided to post it anyway as I get to get it off my chest.

Note 2: Mods are welcome to delete it if it's too blabberish to understand what's been posted tongue.png

    Good night wai.gif

Reason of edit: just to add...in summary...the farmers are blinded by the own hatred for the uncaring Demorats to see the bigger "damage" they are supporting.

  5. The people are tired of their city being blocked and thugs roaming the streets intimidating the people in a lawless manner. They are taken their frustration out on the southern thugs who invaded their city. Red Dawn 2014

Yeah...the people are so fed up with the protesters that they line up along the street on a daily basis waiting for Suthep so that they could throw their own money at him and have their picture taken with him.

As for "Red Dawn", if and when the truth dawns on them, it will be end of the current Government; and Yes...hopefully in "2014".

  6. Its actually quite simple there are good photographs and evidence. The government would move heaven and earth to catch this guy if he is on the payroll of Suthep as it would break the movement. If he is not he won't be arrested so just lets give the government some reasonable time to do their job and if they don't catch him it should be proof enough for us who use our brains.

If it was Suthep I would condemn him and all who planned it with him, not that I think that much of him now but I do think a lot of the movement the normal people trying to oust a corrupt government and bring in stronger anti corruption laws. Lets just hope that they are not used to bring in an other corrupt government. If so I would be against them.

I am not like many reds who say we know our government is corrupt and inept but we support them anyway. Sensible people would see that there is an chance now for real change. Suthep is not going to be able to fool all the anti government protesters like Taksin is fooling the farmers by making sure the rice scheme is plundered by his minions and forgot to leave enough money for the farmers.

Very good logic in your first paragraph Rob. The caretaker government and all its law enforcement agencies have good photographs. They should move quickly to identify and arrest this criminal. Failure to do so, or the usual half baked silly excuses, will suggest a different reason. If he really is linked to the protest movement then this would be a major incentive for them. If he is a red shirt or PTP supporter, or hired thug, then their inaction will tell everyone how it is.

    Let's see where this goes.

WHAT IF..the police arrest this guy (one of their own)...and entice him to make a confession that he was hired by Suthep to do the dirty deeds...and promised to get him released from prison once the Government get back into power after election, with a huge reward like getting a position in Parliament?

The rally will lose it's credibility, the Government will proceed with the election without any major opposition party, a smooth and easy sail back to their seats in Parliament.

My point is...everything is not what it seems to be...to the extend that things cannot be proven-disproved based on LOGIC...ANYTHING is possible.

  7. Oh, I think they are and they would. And if it all goes to pots, they would probably blame the Dems, Suthep or the mysterious "third hand" - anyone other than themselves.

Last month, words among the Reds here in my village in Chiang Mai, was that the Dems are blocking the government from making payment to farmers.

This month, words spreading around is that the Dems has already bankrupted the country before the current government took office.

Saddest part is..the Reds here believed it. blink.png

So...yes...I believe that they will be voted back again in the next election. facepalm.gif

Democracy has already been totally twisted in Thailand. bah.gif

Classic. I guess if they believe it then they deserve everything the get/don't get.

I think the Reds are so blinded by their own hatred for the Dems that they are totally oblivious to what's going on with the current government they voting in.

  9. Weird.

I am one of the few whom first started a Real Estate Agency in Chiang Mai many years ago and so I know how most if not all the Real Estate Agencies/Agents operates.

The Rental Deposit is always/must be made to the Owner instead of the Real Estate Agency/Agent as the Real Estate Agencies/Agents do not have the authority to lease out the property directly to you and hence they do not have the authority to collect Rent and/or Deposit on the Owner's behalf; unless in some cases but very uncommon (only came across once in 9 years) the Owner has given Power of Attorney to the Real Estate Agency/Agent to lease and manage the property on his/her behalf but in this case, you could still hold both the Real Estate Agency and the Owner responsible.

In recent years, there are more and more cases of Owners fleeing Tenant's Rental Deposit. Hence, there is a possibility that could be the case when your Real Estate Agent says that it was the Owner whom refused to give you back your deposit.

Whose name was on the receipt of your Rental Deposit? Presumably you must have a receipt for the money you paid and for what purpose? Probably the receiptient of your deposit may be in the contract too?

Not taking sides here between the Owner and the Real Estate Agency/Agent but if there is a receipt for your Rental Deposit, it's the issuer of the receipt of your deposit you have to go after. If the issuer of the receipt is your Real Estate Agency/Agent, there is a very high probability that they may have illegally collected rent and/or deposit on the Landlord's/Landlady's behalf. Or even if the Real Estate Agency/Agent may have collected rent and deposit legally with Power of Attorney from the Owner, and the money may have gone to the Owner, you may still hold both parties responsible. Go after the issuer of the receipt of your Rental Deposit and let the Real Estate Agency/Agent and Owner sought out their own issues themselves.

Anyway, regardless the issuer of the receipt of your deposit is the Real Estate Agency/Agent or the Owner, a trip down to the police station within the jurisdiction of the Rental Property and a couple phone calls from the police to the Real Estate Agency/Agents and/or the Owner would solve the problem in most cases; the Real Estate Agency/Agent and/or the Owner is betting on the hope that most farangs are "presumably" rich and wouldn't go to the trouble of making it a legal issue and the hassles to get the deposit back. Therefore, in most cases, they would back down the instance they received a call from the Police.

I highly suggest you make a police report and take it from there. If your Real Estate Agency/Agent suggests that it was the Owner whom refused to give you back your Rental Deposit, it would help if you could get them to go down to the police station with you. If the story is true that it is the owner whom refused to give you back your deposit, try to get the Real Estate Agency/Agent on your side and make make a police report with the assistance of your Real Estate Agency/Agent would help greatly.

    Hope that helps!

P.S. - To WTK, please don't be too quick in your judgement on Real Estate Agencies/Agents if you do not fully understand how each agency/agent operates and how they could help you. For instance, the contract, one provided by the Landlord/Landlady himself/herself, and a contract provided by a middleman-agency-agent in protection of both parties instead of a one-sided protection contract without any penalties of the Owner. Though, I do not deny the fact that there are many agencies/agents whom are just there for the commission and are totally useless when problem occurs but please try not to generalize.

  10. I owned a Car Rental Company about 4 - 5 years ago and during then, every cars that I've bought, I would get my partner's father to inspect the cars first and his decision is as good as mine.

He is a familiar face for many second hand car dealers and what I like most about him is that he dared to tell the car dealers straight in the face if he found out that the car has been in an accident before; by the way, most car dealers came clean with the history of the cars upon seeing him :P

If you are interested, pm me for my number and I'll contact him for you.

  11. You may have actual villages confused with commercial developments. Commercial developments aren't really village names, they're more akin to the name of a company office or factory.

Keep in mind that in the Thai government or postal system, the moo ban doesn't typically feature. It's a lot number, Tambon Name, Amphur Name, Province name.

So I'd either stop worrying about it, or if you are looking for commercial development names then steal it from jasminehomes.co.th. :)

    Nope...no confusion there :D

I already have a very good list of Commercial Development housing estates 'taking cue' from many other real estate websites; Jasmine being one of them :D

My client has quite many houses which is located in the Common Thai Villages, therefore, I still need the list if it's available.

I was thinking maybe the Chiang Mai City Hall could provide the information?

Wiki: Chiang Mai is subdivided into 25 districts (Amphoe). The districts are further subdivided into 204 subdistricts (Tambon) and 1915 villages (Muban).

Not like as if it's an impossible task(?).

  12. I think even if the AOT Director meet Ting Tong personally and tell him that there isn't a Wilma in their shareholder list, Ting Tong himself would somehow be able to explain that the business deal was done through a secret channel through the Royal Family connection.

Ting Tong wanted to believe...and it seems like he himself is making up his own explanation in order to keep his wet dreams going.

Look like Ting Tong is now way beyond the point of return.

    :)

  13. Frankly, I'm not 100% sure of my own decision to leave it as it is.

I'm now asking myself am I being a coward for backing off so easily and leaving Ting Tong in the lurch?

But the other part of me tells me that based on Ting Tong's reaction, there's nothing else I can do even if I wanted to.

Another reason is that Octavianus give me the creeps. Now that the Addams know that I'm trying to expose them, I don't know what will happen. They are in the dark while I'm wide open since they know where I live.

  14. Just a quick final update if anyone is interested to know.

This afternoon, Ting Tong has driven Wilma & Octavianus to his hometown in Phrao, to meet Ting Tong parents, to arrange for the Addams Family legal adoption of Ting Tong's Family surname.

Well...when this scam concludes...I shall then post an update of the outcome if anyone is interested.

    :)

  15. Hi All,

Thanks for all the replies :D

Special thanks to eTiMaGo, Luke06 and a private message from another member. :)

Unfortunately, I won't be approaching Ting Tong for another round of talk...as he had cut me off totally.

Today, He had threatened to fire any of his employees (most are his own relatives) if they communicate and/or provide me any further information regarding the Addams Family.

He said that he knew the situation of the Addams more in-depth than anyone else, therefore, only he himself is qualified to make the decision on whether to trust them or not.

Furthermore, Ting Tong has made my doubts and actions known to the Addams Family. The Addams family know where I live...hence my decision to take my hands off the case.

Again, Thanks to all Members, Moderators, and of course, ThaiVisa.com.

Moderator, kindly close this thread if you wish...or leave it open if other members still wish to contribute :D

  16. Hi Coronadian,

I still doubt the a new cargo terminal costs 60B THB though.

    Yes...I doubted that too.

The whole airport investment cost 150+ Billion Baht.

How could an Cargo Terminal alone cost 60 Billion Baht?

Furthermore, DHL just invested in HUGE Airport Cargo Handling in Six Countries (including Suvarnabhumi) and it just cost them 30-40 Billion Baht and already making new headlines!!!

Anyway, how could a 60 Billion Baht investor went under the radar?

How could an Cargo Terminal alone cost 60 Billion Baht?

If only I can find some information on the internet regarding the actual figures...this will be one of the 'evidence' to prove what the Addams aren't.
