  1. USA , and have gotten multiple extensions for years as I renew the retirement visa on time annually but never been asked for this additional stamp on notarized US embassy income document before ? Maybe this is a new requirement and if so wondering if it is something others have been asked for at the Jomtien Imigrations office when renewing their retirement visa's ?

  2. Has anyone at Jomtien Imigrations office applying for retirement visa extension been asked for this ?

" If using your Embassy Letter certifying income, it will need to have a stamp from the Department of Consular Affairs, which is located in Bangkok (this is a new requirement reported as of the end of March 2016 – you may wish to check with Pattaya Immigration to see if it still being required before making a trip to Bangkok to get it). For more information on the requirement, click here and select from “Extension for the Purpose of Retirement or Being the Spouse of the Retiree” contents, then scroll down to the section on “Process for Obtaining Non- Immigrant “O” Visa and then Extending Your Stay.”

  3. If my check in is December 6th is the latest day that I can check in with no penalty the 12th or the 13th ? Does the day of check in count as one of the 7 days of the window . I check in in Jomtien and are there any holidays next week that may have the Imigrations office closed ? Thanks for any help as I know there is a real crackdown on not checking in or overstay but in Bangkok and can not get back till next week , I could check in here but the Jomtien office is so well run and simple compared to the main Imigrations in Bangkok . Is it too late for me to check in on the internet ? Last time I tried I thought it was too risky but possibly now is better ? Does anyone know ? [emoji120]

  4. There are about 15 or 20 of these dogs without owners living in that big field behind the Russian Night Market for example mabe more and have kind of taken over the soi's and sidewalks in that area traveling in packs . At night they are all over the Russian Night Market and volleyball area across from that Market and on the beach there with all of the visitors to that Russian Night Market feeding them and then in the morning the congregate around where the Russian Night Market people dump the trash . It is so out of control in that area and I watch those dogs become more and more aggressive especially in the day as they travel in packs the side walks and sleep in the streets . Now on my runs I must completely avoid that area and so many other places . It's out of control completely, when I am in Bangkok and run at Lumpini park it is such a relief but when I try to run anywhere in beach area and do any distance the dog problem has really ruined what was once nice and is quite dangerous now getting worse day by day . Any suggestions ?

  5. What would be a good location to fly to to be out of a possible fallout zone from any altercations or strike by both Korea ? Was thinking about Australia ? Anyone have any remote locations in mind to go wait this out for a bit ? Also what day is imigration offices back open to obtain let's say a multi entry permit so a current visa is not lost when you return ? Not sure if this thread is in the right section also ?

What we do know is that Trump has been obsessed since the 80s with nuclear weapons, that he refuses to take advice from military professionals and that he seems not to understand the core Nato concept of nukes as a political deterrent, as opposed to a military superweapon.

  6. They came out and said freon was low and possibly a leak so put two holes in the ceiling and replaced the whole line from unit in the inside to the outside compressor / fan . The owner of my condo just accepted what they said and paid the 4000 baht fee for replacing whole line , cleaning and putting freon back in . Unit still not that cold ( if you put thermometer on from of unit where vent blows it's about 63 degrees Fahrenheit ? Maybe that is good but i thought has to be able to go lower to get room on hot day 70

  8. Thanks for all this , when you rent it's hard to get owner to really get best cleaning possible but I will push for it and watch . I take such good care of one of my places that I rent but frustrating that owners may cut corners thinking they will need to pay .

  9. How much should I pay to have the air con in room to have its freon checked and toped off ? Also how much to have the unit insides and outside cleaned ? The room is small only about 40 meters but air con blows hard and air is not very cold so I guess that's why unit has to work so hard and bill so high ? Thanks [emoji120]

  10. I have noticed over the years that when Thai women have foreigners for boyfriend after a while they seemed to be addicted to putting them down . It's like the guy is always being told how inadequate and stupid he is with them quick to put them down but slow to be uplifting . It's like she has a tradition to put down the partner instead of being uplifting and I am wondering if others see this and feel it's very unhealthy to live with someone who always brings stress and is more of a fighter than a kind lover . Seems most of my foreign friends who are men dating Thai women are always having big drama that is very unhealthy and codependent like with their Thai girlfriends . Is it healthier to be lonely or irritated and being with someone who seems to only comment about the bad things as they seem to be addicted to the self made drama like spice and street food . I have learned to be alone much of the time because being in relationships that are not positive and uplifting seeming to be toxic and brings much stress . I see a pattern now after living here almost a decade and foreigners in long term relationships with Thai girls do not seem so happy but they can not face being alone and choose to stay with someone who is always putting them down and only noticing what's wrong instead of going solo which I guess seems so impossible to face for them .

  11. The posts that said to arrive early , get the number , have your papers totally together then just be prepared to wait and not be in a rush were accurate . I have been so use to getting in and out of these procedures quick but in Bangkok plan to be there awhile and get there early with everything you need . It may go quick but that place was so packed today and possibly there is no way to know what to expect . Thanks for all the feedback .
