Applause for allowing migrant workers to stay on in Thailand
jobsworth replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But no workers from Vietnam. The Cambodian border towns near Thailand are full of Vietnamese just waiting their chance to cross into Thailand for work, -
There still is only nobody uses it anymore. Air America, the CiA and drug smuggling. Isn't there a book about the goings on there? The bus drops you alongside the runway which you then have to cross to get to the facilities like guest houses and restaurants. You can swim in the river. It is a great place or should I say was.

Probably from the Pursat area which is being gentrified. The Koh Kong (border) area was logged long ago. I too wonder about the Covid status of the Khmer drivers at a time when the border is closed.

It is upsetting to have bought a brand new shiny gas bottle and then to have to replace it with a bashed up old bottle just to buy more butane gas.

Causes of the pain after temporary crown put in?

Why do teeth need nerves? I can't see that these nerves serve any useful purpose than to cause pain if and when exposed. -
Problem registering with MorChana
jobsworth replied to gejohesch's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thank you all for your helpful feedback. I managed to install the MorChana app. Mine is a cheap Huawei phone that came preloaded with unwanted apps, which I managed to remove. The Morchana app is really quite small at only about 20MB. Quite a neat handy piece of software. I don't know where the 500MB figure came from. I also managed to register. Now it will get more difficult or so you tell me. -
Problem registering with MorChana
jobsworth replied to gejohesch's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The MorChana app at 500MB is enormous. I don't need it at the moment but if I ever did I would need to uninstall most other apps since my phone allows only 2000MB of storage, Goodbye firefox, facebook , maps etc. I notice that it needs access to practically the entire phone like photos, email, phone numbers, etc. What else is it doing and why does such a simple idea need to be so large? -
Thai stargazers urged to enjoy view of a bright Venus on December 7th
jobsworth replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Unlike the moon Venus is brightest when the phase is smallest like now when it is nearest. It has a horseshoe shape but you need incredible eyesight or an instrument to see that but some people have incredible eyesight (not me). -

All that you need is a photocopy of the rental agreement and landlord's id card and there is yet another form that he needs to initial, While the landlord should do the TH30 for you in practice you have to do it yourself. That is what worked for me. If the landlord will not co-operate and some don't like foreigners because of this your only remedy is to move.

Can I buy crypto with Thai Credit Card on Binance?
jobsworth replied to akda's topic in Cryptocurrency News
Yes that is what puts me off about all cryptos. You can't just exchange them like you can a currency. There are no central pools where you can do your exchange. As a buyer you have to find a seller and visa versa. -
Businesses in Thailand urge government to reverse alcohol ban
jobsworth replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Alcohol was not invented. It was discovered. As a fruit falls from a tree if it is not consumed it will be infected by yeast which contains an enzyme that converts sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide. It is a completely natural process and it is hard to understand what the fuss is all about, -
A card number has 16 digits of which the first 4 belong to the bank and so are fixed, The remaining 12 digits belong to the customer. That means there are a one followed by 12 zeros possible card numbers or one trillion. It would be impossible to score a random hit and even if you did the pin number has a further 6 digits or one million possible numbers. So the odds are lengthened to one in a quadrillion. I have read that the leak has something to do with Paypal, online purchases and customers revealing details of their cards online to false web sites. Being very paranoid as I am I checked all my cards and all was ok.

The Bata Shoe Company used to have a factory in Thailand employing 5000 Thais. No more since many years.
