  1. After one tourist visa and four visa exemt entries in 2022: On the sixth entry at BKK airport the imm lady told me it was the last time to enter without visa. And I had been in Europe for a month. After I asked her details she got angry and called her superior to question me. In the end I got my sixth entry after some questioning and showing ticket out after two weeks. I told I was married to a Thai but did not stay long as I work in Europe so had no visa. They advised me to get visa for future entries. Just as a warning as it seems to me they are making it more difficult to take frequent trips.
  2. You do not have to go to DLT. Many places in Thailand they have offices and vehicle inspection shops that does it all including insurance for a small extra fee of 50 to 100 baht. You can probably pick up the papres the next day. I did it upcountry for a car with Bangkok plates. Very easy.
  3. Was it the phone scam where they tell they are police or something? Common in Thailand and other countries and some people are stupid enough to transfer their money to an account belonging to a voice in their phone. Please report in the hope that the scammers will go to jail.
  4. For platelets I believe blood type is not so important. I had a platelet transfusion of another blood type because of cancer treatment. I have A-, but cannot give transfusion because of cancer and other things. But of course the platelets have to be very clean so it has no red bloodcells mixed in. And also the plasma. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiwyfr4o4_8AhXng_0HHVi6A6UQFnoECC8QAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fashpublications.org%2Fhematology%2Farticle%2F2020%2F1%2F512%2F474292%2FDoes-ABO-and-RhD-matching-matter-for-platelet&usg=AOvVaw2EejehR9zDFhfJ2uk-Sjmg
  5. Why pay in advance for furniture. Just pay on delivery
  6. Yes I mean a shop within Lotos complex. I earlier bought ok cheap spectacles at Lotus's complex Pattaya on Sukhumwit road going towards Sattaheep. Lasted long. Simple uncoated glass or plastic lens. Do not remember the name of the shop. But not one of the expensive chains.
  7. I married my thai wife of many years when she on paper were 17 and 10 months old and I was 23. The parents signed for it at amphoe office and no problems. Because of error in her papers she was actually 18 but 17 was her official age. That is perfectly legal in Thailand with parents consent.
  8. Just buy the cheapest glasses at lotus or so. No problems with defect coating. Last years. I once bought some expensive glasses in Thailand and they quickly became like you describe. Maybe I just used wrong tissue to clean them.
  9. Yes it seems most rental companies now mostly offer auto gear. Maybe try and rent a pick-up truck. They are mostly with manual gear.
  10. I paid around 10K baht for chest CT with contrast in private hospital in smaller town in northern Thailand. Just for you to compare.
  11. With wise you can have one account with many currencies incl. THB. So just get their Visa Debit card and use it in Thailand. No fees to pay with it. But some fees to withdraw. Only less than 0.6% fee to change into other currency eg. from USD to THB. That way you will not need a Thai bank account.
  12. Qatar air still has fully refundable tickets until Sep. 30. Just buy one at Qatar Air website out of BKK and get a refund to your CC if you don't need it.
  13. Just make copy of passport if you are UK citizen. Or don't you have NHS proof in UK? Like in DK we have a card with address to show we have free health service at doctors clinics.
  14. Gerard. Just book a hotel for one night that is refundable at Agoda or elsewhere and use that to show where you stay. You can just refund it if not needed. That's what I did. Just write hotel name in invitation. Nothing else needed for stay as long as it is not a STV visa. Just apply for normal TR visa or TR multiple 60 days. Pattaya is not a Province. Its called Chonburi province. Proof of financials could be paycheck or pension slip or bank statement.
  15. You are probably applying for wrong type of Visa STV (Special Tourist Visa) for 90 days. Very tough requirements. You need the Tourist TR visa for 60 days. But you still need to prove where your home is. It could be a bank statement or utility bill. Price around 1200 Baht for Visa.
