  1. Getting the Non-O visa here in country at the moment does NOT require any medical insurance, getting the same Visa but its called O-A through an overseas Embassy YOU NEED THE FULL INSURANCE REQUIREMENT ( 1 think 100,000 USD coverage) but please check. Although the RULES for immigration offices and Officers are the same you will find that the way some offices/Officers INTERPRET the Rules are different. Immigration officers are a department of the Thai Police and you will find it VERY difficult to get them to change there procedure even IF it does NOT conform to the Rules. T.I.T, welcome to Thailand. For myself, I have only dealt with the Pattaya/Jomtien offices and as long as you check their LATEST requirements it has all been simple. ( they often change slightly especially when a New head of the department is appointed. It is however, a busy office.
  2. 2022May16Immigration Pattaya/Jomtien Immigration I visited Immigration on Thurs 12 May at 1330 hrs for my extension of stay based on retirement. Using the 800k+ in the bank method. In the morning I had been to the bank and first updated my account with a deposit of 100 baht. I requested the Bank letter for retirement and a statement covering back ONE year. (Sometimes IMMIGRATION want 12 mths sometimes they are happy with 3 mths.) Ensure the Bank statement and the updated Bank book record the same amount. I photo copied all and signed THEM ALL, along with my passport pages, my 90 day report and my entry TM card. Immigration Fill in the application form Plus one recent Photo. I forgot my notification of my address but they accept a signed copy of my Thai Driving Licence WHICH YOU CAN DO INSIDE IMMIGRATION I waited 10 mins in the Queue outside but inside it was all All complete within 7 mins. I received my Pickup No. and a letter detailing that I must report to immigration in 3 mths and show the 800 K is still in the bank, thereafter a min of 400k needs to stay in the account and two months before next years application back up to 800K+. It is all simple and easy AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE CORRECT PAPERWORK. For those Expats who always complain this takes a maximum of One hour once a year with a cost of 1,900 Baht. As a THAI, try and do the same thing in your own country.
  3. Try the rental place at the end of Thepprasit road at the "T" junction with Thappraya Rd I have always got a good deal there, Good insurance and the cars are well maintained. Despite what anybody says, you do need a International Permit to drive here and or convert your home country driving Licence to a Thai Licence. No Licence equals No insurance cover, therefore you pay the damages, and money to the Police.
  4. My two Thai Grandsons moved in with me with their parents in March 2020 (both 9 yrs old in May/June 2022) they have had very little online schooling for the last year, the actual government school was open/closed like a Yo-yo, we decided to keep them at home and tried our best teaching them like most people. I recently suggested to their teachers that they lose one year and start again, they have said in an ideal world that would be okay but the government schools simply do not have the capacity to do this and instead ALL the kids were given a passing grade. I can only hope that as these kids are all suffering with the same lack of education that the curriculum will be changed accordingly. I have agreed for the new school year May 2022 to pay for extra schooling after school time in the afternoon and on Saturday mornings and that is enough, the kids also need there play time. This is a problem the WORLD over, I do not blame the Thai's we will just have to see how they progress this year. What similar experiences have others had? What have you done about it? Thanks
  5. I was paying about 4,000 Baht for 50Kgs of Chlorine Granules for use in the swimming pool, as we were running low we checked around and the lowest price quoted was 5,900 Baht + delivery. This seems a huge increase, has anybody got a better experience? if so could you name the supplier (or PM me if that is not allowed by the "Thought Police" Granules or Powder etc. We have always used Granules, that is what the previous owner used, this is what the Pool guy requests, it works well for me so that is what we require to keep everybody happy. Thanks
  6. I am sure the Police will suspect you of travelling /moving passengers about so you could expect to be stopped on a regular basis, if it was done out inside as a camper van this should allay their fears but it will NOT stop them initially pulling you over. My lad (pre covid) was working for a company doing the border runs with a minibus, (Continually being stopped ) he wanted to buy his own but in the end I bought a Fortuna 2.5 Diesel, he never got stopped and could fit 8+ locals inside easily. Plus I could use it, 250k- kms on it now and still going strong, just regular Oil changes, all filters and brakes. Timing Belt
  7. That is also my experience so far, some even want you to send your own Photo's, they do not want to visit, so I would also be interested in an agency that puts some effort into it otherwise JUST post on the various Free Web sites yourself as I am currently doing.
  8. Sorry, Not on Jomtien but for those with Bikes Both Caddy Shack and Tara Court have Breakfast around 150 Baht inc Coffee. Both do nice Poached eggs, Bigger Gut-buster Breakfasts available not sure prices Nice Aircon surroundings and NOT noisy. Bangkok Post available. Caddy shack has his own sausage Rolls and Pies normally ready by 11am.
  9. Golden Retriever Thailand I was also looking but as I would want to see the parents before I bought. I would prefer in the Pattaya/Bangkok driving area. I have had two Golden's, Great dogs and very good with my grandkids. The dogs do need a lot of grooming, if you have a pool they will be the first in, they love the beach and sea. Golden Retriever Thailand Golden Retriever Thailand. 1,926 likes · 42 talking about this. Dog breeder The above was from Google and in Chiang Mai Just Google Craig Youse Phucket They have a nice web site This isn't particularly a recommendation because I only know of the guy by reputation, but there is a well-known Golden breeder called Craig Youse on Phuket, and he also works with other GR breeders across the country.
  10. By The Post Office, any post office. However they may not take the suitcases but require you to put the items in a Cardboard Box. I have used them, very efficient and have tracking Plus you can also send a Motorbike Via the Post.
  11. In Pattaya you must prove to the Land office that the money has been brought into Thailand from abroad, I believe they keep a record of this. Although it SHOULD be the same LAW all over Thailand we continually find that officials in different areas interpret the Laws in different ways Wait and see what other people who are more knowledgeable about the Land Office practices in Bangkok say about this first, but a visit to the Land Office with somebody who can speak Thai might help.
  12. Could you please confirm where you had the vaccine in the Pattaya Area. If it was at the Monk's College, where is that. Thanks
  13. Covid Vax Received #1 Az followed by #2 Pfizer both at Bang Sue Bkk It is now more than 90 days since my #2 Vax which was Pfizer Can anybody tell me how long I have to wait before I can get a BOOSTER (anywhere) for this type of this Combination? Note:- Royal Garden Pattaya - Will not allow this combination as it is not on their list and they have No more Info or explanation. BHP Pattaya Will allow Moderna after 6 mths. ie March Although I fill out the form on the AIS vaccine web site with all the details it will not let me enter.
  14. I am assuming as a foreigner you want to put the property in the Minors name so they have something when they come of age. However, If it is transferred into the minors sole name then which ADULT controls the property, this may well be the Mother. What is to stop the Mother ( or another) from selling the property? I do not know the answer to this question, but I would want to ensure that the property cannot be sold until the minor can control it themselves. Who will pay any Taxes / Utility bills etc due on the property? I look forward to reading the answers on the above from people who actually know, Not what they THINK. Thanks
  15. Yes, Thank you for the correction., Sahid Javid said a Covid test not PCR test and the above Link clearly states what tests are allowed, sorry about my mis-information, it was not deliberate.
  16. All international arrivals to the UK will again be required to take pre-departure COVID-19 tests to tackle the spread of the new Omicron variant, the health secretary has announced. The rule applies to all travellers over the age of 12 visiting the UK or returning from a holiday, regardless of vaccination status, and will come into force from 4am on Tuesday 7 December. 17. Thanks to the people who replied, My friend and I were confused by the different answers we received in out Tel Conversations with Thai The Web site was Clear
  18. From The ThaiAirways web page https://www.thaiairways.com/en_GB/plan/travel_information/travel_requirements.page FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM The information on this page is based on the guidance made available by the relevant authorities and is correct as of the date above and may be subject to change at very short notice. Fully vaccinated passengers: 1. Book a test for day 2 - this must be a PCR test 2. Complete a Passenger locator Form 3. Self-isolate on arrival and until the result of your day 2 test is known. You may only leave self-isolation if the test is negative
  19. Does anybody have the actual regulation, Its no good turning up at the airport and saying so and so told me XYZ, I myself am not leaving, this could cause a lot of expense and hardship to somebody who was denied boarding.
  20. Leaving Thailand on an Outbound Thai Inter Flight My friend is travelling to Europe UK, he has a confirmed Thai Inter booking and the booking in the UK for his PCR test. There is some confusion as to what is required to fly OUT of Thai for a person having had the double vax and has the certificates with the Phone App. and Pax locator form. On one call to Thai Inter they said he needed nothing, ATK or PCR test when we queried this he called again and was told he needed a PCR test. On the third call to Thai Inter he was told he needed a Fit to Fly certificate. Not one person will tell him what the actual regulation is and reference No. He has gone ahead and has booked a PCR test. Does anybody know the full story on this ( Not what you think please) can you quote the order/Reg etc issued by who etc. He would like to print out and show at the ticket counter. It seemed obvious to us that any airline would require this as a safety measure for all Pax, ATK or PCR is up to them. This was the reason we questioned our friend over lunch. We may or may not agree with some or any of the current Thai regs. but they are what they are, we would just like complete CLARITY. Thanks
  21. Naklua Fish Market Covid Passport Plenty of Parking around the back. The Office has Lunch 1200-1300 hrs At 1315 Hrs I went in and at Counter/Office No. 1 asked for the Covid Passport. There was slight confusion then as she asked if I wanted a booking, I asked could I get it today, she said yes, Booking for Today. I gave her a copy of my Passport Photo Page SIGNED and my Tel No. on it. A copy of my Vaccine certificate (also signed) I was told to wait. Approx. 30 mins The Passport was written out by hand in Office No. 12, For anybody having problems, in Office #12 there was a Thai Woman Officer who spoke good English . I was called to a Desk outside of No. 12, I paid the Fee 50 Baht I was given a receipt, I was asked to check the Passport booklet carefully, I signed it. All complete. Please note This is a Public Health office, other health business is being carried out. My friend went Early in the morning when there was a LOT of people about. At 1313 when I went, there was only 6 people there. There was a sign saying only 50 people processed per day. Very efficient and easy. If you have got there late in the afternoon or there daily quota has been filled the Lady at Counter #1 will give an appointment date/time.
  22. I can confirm it is near the Naklua Fish Market. Even with the appointment it takes quite a bit of time to get the booklet, patience is required and a Book to read!!
  23. I am giving second hand info as I have not been to the building myself, I am told by my friend, who went there on Thursday, its very close to the Fish Market and that's where I will be going on Monday morning..
  24. My fiend and I had the #1 Vax of Az at BangSue 12 weeks ago, all was well organised and there were people there who could explain in ENGLISH if you asked. On Tues 28 Sept we were sent an SMS reminder by CVC-MOPH in Thai, (my son translated.) Wed 29 Sept was our Vax date My friend (80) has had some Thrombosis issues, he had a Hospital Letter requesting Pfizer if possible, I inquired at Bang Sue, we were taken to another area, filled in another form stating his medical reason, the Doctor checked the Hospital letter, and approved my friend, I told the Doctor I was okay and was happy with either but he stamped mine for Pfizer as well. After the Vax and the required 30 min wait I asked about the Vax certificate, I had a copy of a friends on my phone ( very useful) when I got somebody to understand what we wanted we gave our Stamped Vax A4 paper and our Passports to a computer operator and 20 mins later we received our Vax certificate, actually two certificates each, one for the Az jab and one for the Pfizer Jab. On the Certificate was our name in English, Thai Address in Thai, The special 13digit Number starting with 600000++ for use with the MorPhrom App. and our Passport No. plus the Vax details. All was well organised, very friendly with people around willing to help., they are dealing with many people everyday but with a little patience we got everything we needed.( I speak Thai but do not read Thai) Vaccine Inoculation Booklet ( Yellow) for people in the Pattaya Area I have been told by a friend who has already done this procedure to go to the Naklua Fish market, Find the Department of Disease Control, show your Vax cert. Plus passport, they will give you a appointment date and time. When all completed you will have your Yellow Booklet. This is next weeks Job. We complain about things in Thailand but I can honestly say this Vax at Bang Sue went very well.
