    Hi,

My visa is due to expire on Sunday 14th, I have an under consideration stamp for a marriage visa that has been pending for 1 month, what will happen if my visa runs out before its approved?

Don't worry you just need to go to immigration when it's stated , the chan you should be refused is very slim , if approved after your visit your passport  will be stamped (Permitted to stay until January 13 2025) and you also got a receipt for 90 days reporting taped in your passport there you can see when next report ids due. Hope this helps

I'm preparing for my first Non-O marriage extension.

Wondering if anyone's done this recently and could confirm for me if I'll need to go get an updated Kor Ror 2? Or can I just use the one from last year when I registered my marriage here?

No you need a new one ... In my case depending on province (Surin) Same day...

Looks like from the OP's user profile that it's the dreaded Jomtien office in his case!

My immigration office (Rayong) reset my 90-day reporting clock when I last sought a retirement extension there, but kindly omitted to tell me that they had done this. I only found out after an online report based on the previous due date was rejected.

Thanks for letting me know , we just moved to Surin, and I have forgotten to change Location. Meant Surin it was...

  4. Find out yesterday, October 24 when I was going to do my 90 day's reporting to Immigration, I was told by the officer that there was no need for that , due to I'm under consideration for extension of my marriage visa. So that went very smooth but also little confusing, has anyone else experienced that ? I did the application September 29 and current extension expire November 2 and I was asked to come back December 2

I think the world bank knows more about Thailands outlook and finances than Thailand !

The new pm doesn’t seem to know anything thing about economics, 560bn in handouts to 56 million people next year, where is the money coming from? Taksin , Seretta , don’t think so , either from the Thai government or from overseas loans. This will kickstart a higher inflation with higher prices, and who is paying for it , the Thai people. The 10000 bath is just a loan and nothing else. This is political stunt from Pheu Thai to be able to keep the power in the country until the next election and they weren’t  even elected, I never seen so much financial incompetents wannabe Politician’s , Maybe Trump can help out if not in prison the one stop shop for a quick solution

Hello all - I posted a few weeks back about having to pop to HCMC to get another non-imm O visa based upon marriage to give myself time to allow the 400k to season for two months.  However, I've managed to get my ducks in a row a bit quicker than I thought and with doing the 60 day extension I think I will just about be able to apply for the one year extension based upon marriage before the extension stamp expires.

My time line is as follows :

    25/09 - 400k deposited in my account

28/11 - my current permission to stay ends

It's going to be pretty tight and annoyingly the two month seasoning date is a Saturday (25/11), so potentially the earliest I could apply is 27/11 which is the day before my permission to stay expires - is this cutting it too fine given it'll be my first experience applying for this extension and there's a chance I'll have some document missing/incorrect ?  Would it be worth applying on 24/11 (I'd say 25/09 - 24/11 is two full months ????), or is this likely to be futile and risk irritating the immigration officer ?

    Many thanks...

Just did it, one hour ago, make sure you have document ready and that applies for your wife as well , she need if she have change her last name change documents from Amphoe, Thai ID ,  Tabien ban everything copied and your bank letter and Ko Ror 22 needs be issued where I live at the same day as you apply at immigration. Good Luck...

  7. I just want to inform that it seems to be new rules to get a one year extension of stay based upon marriage and monthly inflow of funds from overseas.

I got an income affidavit from my consulate here in Pattaya as I have done for 7 years before , and no questions asked at Jomtien Immigration, this year not good enough , I had to go to MFA in Bangkok to get the Affidavit document legalized. Bank Letter and Statements from Two different bank's was also a requirement from immigration. The reason in my case is that my bank in Sweden send the funds through Bangkok bank which immediately forward the fund's to Siam Commercial Bank. This was before a 1-2 days effort , now it is a week, I will in the future keep funds in My thai Bank account covering one year. I hope this helps for those that is in a similar situation. Please Note Ministry of Foreign Affairs , dept Consular services located at Cheang Wattana Complex , Bkk. The process is not a one day process and you need to be there very early , if you are lucky they will send the document to you EMS fro an extra fee.

Normally immigration will not cancel your extension in order to change the reason for your extension from retirement to

    marriage.

You may have to leave the country without a re-entry permit and get a new non-o visa to start all over again.

I change extension from Retirement that originally was based on a O-A visa three years ago to a extension based on marriage here in Pattaya , with no insurance requirements. The change was done at the annual extension, without any problem.

  9. Good that it seem to be some thoughts to open up the country , the test and go plan is somewhat ok , but the second PCR test should be scraped , and the reason is the there is an incubation time for Omicron could be as short as only 4 days , so those who attract the virus might have got it here in Thailand, and that along with requirements of quarantine is not fair to them. As they started to do in Europe, consider Omicron as regular cold , mass testing don't make any sense any more for this variant...
