And much better for the environmental. Much cleaner than benzine or diesel. I can recommend the brand Prins from Nedherland. More expensive but good quality. Otherwise there are systems from Italy, Hungary, India etc..
Interesting post as I was going to ask what system would people recommend. The website you posted is in Thai but Im not to sure if they can help with my Toyota being 2009 model. I also couldnt see any info about price so I will let my gf take a look at it as she is thai.
The only other place I have come across so far that offers this service is this place:-
https://www.facebook.com/bigasth/
It looks like a quality installation place and the price isnt too bad approx 40,000 baht, the local thai mechanic quoted a price of around 30,000 baht but I dont know what equipment they would use. I will welcome any views, opinioons or insights
Cheers

I settled for a Toyota Camry 2.4v with 130,000 kilometres for 220,000 and will keep it as stock for now.
Thanks to all for the info, much appreciated

That is a high kilometrage IMO, I got two cars one is 2013 16,000k one is 2014 17,000k. just saying.
if only you were selling one of them. I prefer the 2014 model 😉
You are right, the kilometres are very high and the motors ive looked at with low kilometres often have several owners which suggests somethings amiss but we have a mechanic helping us so we think we will be okay

If you're happy with what you have, Vigo is available in dual fuel (gas/CNG) model, first came out in 2012. Our CNG Champ with 400K still runs fine.
Not sure it would make sense to convert an older car when used factory made vehicles are available. Seems like messing with stuff that already works just causes more problems. And with your low daily mileage, breakeven could be years in the future.
Don't forget the additional 500-baht annual inspection fee for compressed fuel vehicles. Can take several hours if you can find a convenient location. You'll receive a three-page document with photos and red stamps that you must present within a limited time to have the annual safety inspection done.
My vigo is a diesel, my lady doesnt like it anymore and it would be nice to drive something much more comfortable.

Im interested in purchasing a Toyota Camry or a nice Honda Sedan with the intention of converting it to lpg to save on fuel consumption. The models Ive been looking at are around 2009 - 2011 and they all have 2.4 engines with relatively low mileage (130 to 195,000 km on the clock).
I dont change cars often - my Vigo, which I will sell, has been with me for over 15 years. At the moment I dont drive too far - maybe 10-20 km per day but every 2 weeks I like to visit the coastline around 300 km there and back but I do intend to travel more. Does it make economical sense to add a lpg system to one of these older cars or am I inviting trouble by messing with things I dont quite comprehend. Can someone point out the perils and the pitfalls
Appreciate your advice

sounds like the bent IOs have pumped the price following the Chinese visa debacle, as expected. so why are you blaming the agency and making false claims about them holding you hostage? you're free to use a different agent any time you like.
18,000 is a reasonable price given the circumstances. in Pattaya it'll cost you 12,500 + 1,600 if your Bangkok Bank branch is not in Patts/Chonburi.
if you don't have a BBL account then it'll cost another 3,700 or 5,000-odd depending on your age to open a new account. I forget the age ranges, maybe up to 60 for the cheaper price (because bank insurance).
90 day reports are 100 baht.
of course you've got to physically present yourself in Pattaya for the renewal and you'll have to mail your passport to the agent for the TM47.
If you're in the south then obviously there are travel costs, so all up you probably won't be better off by using a Pattaya agent rather than your current one.
thank you for that informative reply and you are probably right, Im better sticking with the devil I know than the devil I dont know residing in Pattaya ????

You're a hostage to your current agent. Your visa and extension are technically valid, but not legal according to regulations as written. You won't be able to renew yourself as you're not registered with immigration where you live, and you haven't maintained the required bank balance. Only options are continue with agent, or exit the country and get a new visa in a neighboring country, or come back with a waiver and apply for a visa at immigration.
If you try to move to a different agent, you'll be starting out as a new customer paying full price and will have the same problem. You'll just be hostage to the new agent.
cheers for your reply - much appreciated and I agree, its simply a case of better the devil I know than the devil I dont. The agency has been reputable and well known for offering Thai Visa (.com) and they told me that the costs have increased due to shennanigans of the chinese who have arrived on illegal visas and that they must charge more to ensure my visa. As you said, they are now holding me hostage but at least others will learn a lesson from my tale.

Do you have 800K in the bank, or are you able to show monthly transfers?
Where was your visa/extension stamped? In which province is the agent doing your 90-day reports?
I have been living here for umpteen years, was married and i do have the money but not in the bank. Im in the south but the visa is stamped in Chainat

I pay 8000 for renewal 90 day 100
would you be so kind as to message me with more info

I have been using the same company for 3 years to do my retirement visa. The initial cost was around 18000 baht and the following year I was told it would cost 14,000 but when it came up for renewal they asked for 16,000 baht. I bit the bullet then but this year they are now asking 18,000 baht for the renewal. I also have to pay another 500 baht every 3 months for a 90 days notification renewal to be sent to me
What are the going prices for these services nowaday? Are their prices reasonable or am I being held hostage?? Feel free to message me with any personal recommendations
Thanks guys

to be perfectly honest, not enough to justify the drama. As a previous poster said he should just let it go and move on. I buy from Bangyabong, he is a decent guy and thats good enough for me

I have to assume the supplier you are complaining about was on Facebook or line. I find it hard to believe that you think these guys are the same as reputable operations. It costs little to nothing to set up a fake storefront on either. Extract as much money from the customer as you can, as quickly as you can. If you get a low quality batch of product. Sell it anyway and start a new storefront if it gets too bad.
And don't say they wouldn't do that because they would lose future business. They don't care. Offer one 100 baht or 500 baht, they get 100 now but if they wait till tomorrow, they get 500. How many do you think would wait?
I am happy with Bangyabong - hes a good chap

top quality kraft will fetch 200 easy for years to come. i see a basement around 150 to 200 for top shelf. wholesale.
knowing the care and attention that goes into cultivating and finally harvesting I think 150-200 baht per gram for top quality kraft is fair

Plenty good weed in Thailand now at prices well below 100bht a gram. I don't like buying things on Facebook but plenty weed there a 80bht gram for bud.
Only buy on Facebook as COD, delivery usually only 2 days.
its like with farmers, if you buy direct from the source its cheaper but once "big" business gets involved those prices jump astonishly high but they surely cannot stay at those prices for long if we all keep buying from the farmers instead.

Thais rely on the hive mind and when it buzzes they all think they know something you dont, instilling their lack of knowledge and paranoia into anyone who cares to listen. Dismiss it and carry on

Not funny. Your unneeded comment is why so often these experiences are not shared and are carried hidden for decades.
much is made of veterans and upto the 2nd world war I would agree that their cause was just and honourable. But once we enter the realms of Vietnam, Iraqi and Afghanistan, my sympathies quickly evaporate because so much unwarranted sympathy is given to the imperialistic invaders and their "ptsd" and not to those that had their homeland attacked. If said "soldier" was an active combatant in Asia then why would he return to the scene of the crime and expect anything less? I have more respect for those who patrolled the streets of Belfast and made it home without ever killing innocents and theres not a single British soldier worth his salt who would lose the plot over multicoloured water pistols on a hot summers day

I stand by what I said - no soldier would ever be triggered by plastic water pistols squirting water, the mere notion is ridiculous. A snowflake would fare better at Songkran but it knows not to visit as its going to melt.
