Tree Town Bar 39 previously Buzzin Bar. All local bottle beers Happy hour 39 baht, great deal.

That's a laugh.........totally legal?
Hope the question mark relieves your confusion.
It's so sad that people like you just don't get it. My retirement extension is totally legal and is authorised by my local Immigration office and is signed by exactly the same senior officer who does ALL extensions. No special markings to highlight how it was obtained. Get a life, this has been around for years and will be for many many more.

Why not fly EVA, as far as I know they allow 2 x23kg hold luggage

Tried it yesterday and it asked a few questions, nothing new, but it said it would take 4-5 days compared to the last time when it only took an hour. Not sure what is going on.
It's a long weekend holiday In Thailand. Friday to Monday, some banks closed.

When I go to the Trendy building I usually call into the Red Lion while wife in VFS, pleasant atmosphere with newspapers available. Beer reasonably priced during the day with half litre draught Tiger at 89 baht, a bit pricy at night.
Never tried the breakfast, but looked reasonable with good full English at 195 baht, or you can create your own. Not come across many places offering black/white pudding or sauteed potatoes.
Well you need to find a new bar now that Trendy is no longer used for UK visa applications.

Good. Now time for mods to shut the thread down as the OP has his answer and he is guaranteed an on time flight and immediate immigration and customs clearance via fast-track with no checked baggage.
It's time because an i*not like you keeps posting nonsense about treatment in LAX. For heavens sake man.

As people have told you. To obtain a Retirement extension you first need a Non O visa 2k baht. Then to get the extension 1,900 baht, you have to have 800k in a Thai bank account or prove an income from overseas for the previous 12 months of 65k.
I have a yearly income of 130k but not 800k in a Thai bank. I simply use agent who for 12,500 baht get you a totally legal extension within 3 days.

Whilst @Sherylis 100% correct it all depends on you. I am prescribed from my UK doctor 200 paracetamol and Codeine 500/30mg. I regularly bring 7 months supply into Thailand, I have been doing this for over 10 years. Not once have I been questioned on entry. I carry my monthly prescription with me. Customs at Suvarnabhumi airport very rarely scan or even rarer search anyone's luggage. When they do its normally a Thai person and they are looking for designer goods.

No because you are full of bull manure and your own perceived importance. I can't believe they keep putting your posts in the newsletter. I wish you would go away.

Why ?? I will subsequently respond.
Do travel agents actually still exist over here. Far easier to use the online travel sites either direct with an airline or with an online agent. All the info anyone needs is contained in these sites, yet the OP thinks for some reason Asean Now posters know better.

I am in the process of booking a flight with KLM to the UK.
Why are you booking KLM. EVA Air are direct and competitive on price. You get 2 x 23kg hold luggage as standard plus a 7kg carry on, plus a personal bag.

The visa is valid for entry for 30 days, should be 3 months, so the text is wrong. On entry he will be given a stamp of 90 days in Thailand.

I can't work out why anyone needs a desktop nowadays unless for work. I have a laptop and a good phone. I can do most things including this forum on my phone. I hardly use my laptop at all nowadays, just my phone.

Yeah... 'It would be too easy... and even dumba$$ stupid Thai's are incapable of doing easy things' ..... right ??????
It is this element of Thai-bashing that I'm trying to highlight in this thread - some of you guys are racist bigots, though you'd never admit it because you think you are making critical observations when really you are masked by a myopic bias.
I don't care if it sounds racist to you. It is just plain nonsense. I don't care if its a Thai or anyone else doing this it's idiotic.

Yes I know but I am talking about the timing of restocking
I completely agree. The Lotus's at the top of the Threpasit Road are always restocking the beer and alcohol mid morning. Now that the area is so small you can just about move around it when there is no restocking going on. As there are no alcohol sales between 2 and 5pm, why on earth do they not do it then. But there again that would be too easy.

Thanks for your replies, I have told him this before but he seems to have a romantic idea of sitting on the beach being fed food by young ladies in bikinis
I shall give him the address for Bangkok Hospital 😉
Well he won't get it delivered by girls in bikinis. All the beach people will give you a menu and take your order. A guy on a motorbike will then get your order from a local restaurant that they deal with. He will bring it back and they will serve to you. Nothing is cooked on the beach itself. I recommend Jomtien or even better Koh Larn in the week.

Waste of money. We bought one 2 years ago and have used it on only a few occasions. They simply do not cool the room, fan is just as good.

If you meant to say "get a UK visa" rather than "get a UK" then firstly we don't know that he didn't plan this weeks ago and secondly he might already hold a 2, 5 or 10 year visit visa for the UK. They're not that hard to get.
Yes typo error missed out the word visa. The article implies he is visting the UK at short notice. Agree on the second part about he possibly could already have a long term visa. I agree a UK visa not that hard to get as my wife has had 3 x 1 year, a 5 year and now a 10 year visa. Many people would disagree however.

The whole point of the transfer later option is to get a better rate. That is why Wise introduced it. You are not gaming the system by doing it, just using the option provided. I can't see why any penalty would apply. Have you got any evidence of this?
