It would seem the Thai insurance industry is complicit in unlawful activities, they sell policies for properties with no planing permission.

More than 250 MPs and no one heard the bell. Next time you should find a better excuse.
Well he got away with "watches from a dead friend" so no need to get too creative with excuses.

Police did nothing for 5 years. The navy was there to make sure the order was enforced.
And the 100 Police was a case of safety in numbers, as in such a number is unlikely to be harrassed later by the crooks who set up the beach club.

Just now, ChipButty said:Even after the military coup when they cleared all the umbrellas from the beaches why didn't they pull the place down then?
Good question, as I spent a bit of time on Phuket during that period I saw what appeared to be a very selective process of demolition and blind eyes turned to some old and new constructions.
I believe this process continues.

How about progressive thinking young people with sound leadership qualities being allowed to take the reins.
Oh sorry someone had a crack at that and was put in their place by the backward thinking conservitive old guard who's economic management skills have been on display for a few years with the result of running the country into the ground not aware that there is more to economic management than making the elites richer.

Is this a misunderstanding or the shape of things to come. Trying to make up for a few bad months.
Or perhaps the end of dual pricing?

I hope they can work something out as the dependence on tourism is not working too well at present.

Time for another open letter to the well heeled, or perhaps someone could hock his watches, that oughta do it.

The fishing industry in the Philippines has destroyed entire ecosystems, destroying coral reefs dynamite fishing in some areas.
The fishing industry around the world is rapidly becoming unsustainable, some nations are doing well to protect the stocks but this is not as widespread as it needs to be, sorry this is about monkeys.

This Monkey business is not impressive especially if they have their teeth removed, however I think it's a lesser evil to what is likely to be continuing in the Fishing industry. Overfishing and rampant human exploitation, I believe reps from the EU witnessed window dressing of the industry and gave it the thumbs up.

And how do they intend to sort the two tier system? Is it possible that it will be the Thais who will pay the high falang price as well from now on?

In my hometown some of the more cashed up businesses have renovated and redecorated to be re energised for the reopening of tourism.
Have these guys cleaned up the beaches streets or done anything to brighten the place up for the future? Any local expats seen any activity of this nature going on?

After being closed for so long will the greedy be adjusting the prices to recover their losses.
Although seriously nothing is going to open any time soon and if it does the quarantine and self isolation requirements at either end will not make travel attractive.

Oh, those misunderstandings!

The spending of the rich will never be more than the spending of the masses.
This nonsense is just a wet dream of the elite who look down their noses at the rest of us.
