If I die in Thailand I have ne wish to be repatriated. All my assets are in the UK which I already have a Will for, I only have 1 Bank Account in Thailand.
1) How do you arrange to be cremated in Thailand ?
2) What do the Bank, Kasikorn require to close my account after I pass away to enable my daughter to have access to the remaining balance of around £15k ?

Why shouldn't foreigners pay more, our salaries/pensions are way in excess in what a Thai person could ever hope to earn, you come to Thailand wether on holiday or to live here you abide by their rules if not go some where else. There admission prices are not excessive either compared to elsewhere.

Apologies, misunderstood the rules, overstay means overstaying when your visa expires ?I have a 'Retirement Visa' I live in Thailand, I am 1 day late reporting at Immigration, what happens, I get arrested and deported ?
What do you mean reporting ?....a 90 day report ?...No that's not an overstay anyway....if you are talking about your visa expiring...go back and read the rules...what do you think will happen in terms of what is written ?

Kasikorn charge 0.25% max 500 Baht then if the branch is outside Bangkok 20 Baht per transaction and10 Baht per 10000 Baht transferred to a maximum of 750 Baht. To transfer the 800000 Baht from out with Thailand would be 1270 Baht.
Using the London Branch of Bangkok is one way but charges are still involved but doesn't cost anything to transfer the funds from your UK account to the Bangkok London branch of course you would lose out on the exchange rate.
Swings and roundabouts, only way of not being hit with charges etc is 'hand carry' the funds.

I can never understand this ruling about the 800k in the bank, what's to stop you drawing the money out as soon as you have the required Visa and losing it on the horses ?
My colleague told me the Immigration in Bangkok allow you have the money in your home country Bank Account, not sure if he was 'winding' me up ?

Some of the Barbers shops on Soi Bulkhao have just increased their prices by 20% it's still very cheap compared to UK prices but the cutters might lose out, 80 baht before so it was common practice to give them a 100 baht keep the change, now it's a 100 baht so the tips might not be there anymore.

Thai Restaurant in Thailand ? There is very little profit margin in Thai food, you don't see many Thais in the restaurants, too expensive and the majority of the Tourists eat farang food, the Chinese have their own places. I walk from Big C in South Pattaya on Pattaya Tai to Soi Bulkhao on a night, numerous pavement places selling food, loads of Thai Restaurants mostly empty, keep your money in the bank.
Best of luck though, where is it and what's it called ?

Immigration only issues one type of visa and that is a non immigrant visa the is only valid for the date it issued when a 90 day permit to stay stamp is done.
The point I am making is he was told by Immigration the money doesn't have to be in a Thai Bank Account irrespective of the Visa he was applying for.He applied for a non immigrant visa not an extension. The money only has to be in the bank for the visa application.
The 60 days is only for a extension of stay application he will do during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa application.
You are confusing extensions of stay and visas.
He gave me the wrong info, he only got 90 days and as you say goes back for his Extension of Stay.

A colleague has been to Immigration to change his Tourist Visa to Non O and I assume Etension of Stay, Retirement. He said he was informed the funds 800000 baht does not have to be in a Thai Bank Account although he did have. This has started a furious debate, he insists they told him the money doesn't have to be in a Thai Bank Account.?

They do the same in the UK in a different way, make the it smaller and put the price up ?

Well they didn't staple my Departure Card the last time on arrival at BKK and I lost it !
Got you beat. They DID staple my departure card last time I entered, then Phuket Immigration removed it, then THEY lost it and tried to CHARGE ME for a new one. I refused, they relented.
Some one told me it will cost 2000 baht for a new one ?

I was speaking with an agent the other day about a visa for my girlfriend for the UK, she told me things had really 'tightened up' and it was becoming very difficult to obtain one ?
My problem is whilst I own a property in the UK it's rented out, I am 64 and have retired, I have more than sufficient funds in the bank? My Thai lady, 38 doesn't work, own a property etc so I didn't even bother to take it any further, I was looking at a Visitors Visa.

Mentioned this before fella I know age 74 was pulled into a room on his last visit, they photo copied his passport and was told unless he got a proper visa, always comes on 30 day entry he would not be allowed to enter next time. He comes every year 3/4 times year and has done for the last 10 years no problem, yes he should have get a visa but he said why should I ? I am doing nothing wrong, only stays 28 days, he said if they don't want my business I will go elsewhere.

If they had used your multiple re-entry permit you would of only been stamped in until the16th of December which is date it expires. In reality it became invalid when you got your new extension because the permit to stay it was issued for is no longer valid.I had a Extension of Stay, Retirement Visa along with a Multi Entry Permit valid until the 16th of December.I renewed my Extension of Stay for another year and got a single Re Entry Permit, I left Thailand on the 1st of December and I wasn't sure when I would be returning so that's why I got a single Re Entry. I arrived back today from the UK and assumed that my Multi Entry was still valid Immigration wouldn't 'stamp' my new single as 'used' but they did. I deliberately put my Arrival/Depparture Card in the page of my existing Permit but to no avail, why ?
The officer did the correct thing when he stamped you in using the single re-entry permit you had.
Confused, I had a new Etension of Stay allowing me another year, therefore if I hadnt the new Single Re Entry my new Extension of Stay would have been cancelled ?

I was on Beach Road last night just after eight, at the Walking Street end you couldn't move with all the Chinese. Further along it was similar very busy, it was spoilt by the <deleted> in the water 'robbing' the floats !

There is a construction site along from me, Sukamvit Road, every Safety Notice you can think off is on the hoardings, thing is what actually goes on behind the might be a different story..
The employers make a big issue of Health and Safety in the UK, you do as the employee and your will not be invited back on the next project and end up on a 'blacklist'. I did work for a global company, they said they had a 'Green List' of people, oh so if you weren't on the 'Green List' you were 'Black Listed' !

I was serving my apprenticeship in the UK in the late sixties early seventies, hard hats, safety boots, scaffold were non existent. If you needed access it was a pallet on a fork lift, no safety harness. Working from ladders/steps some 3 metres high was common practice. Over the years various degree of PPE was introduced to the extent on sites now steps/ladders are banned only to be used where a scaffold can't be erected, if using steps/ladders, safety harness. The full regalia is, Hard Hat, Safety Boots with steel plated sole, Coveralls, sleeves rolled down, Safety Specs, Gloves and if in a noisy area Ear Defenders.
I believe over the years they have gone over the top now Risk Assements, Method Statements and Permit to Work for every task. Has it cut done on accidents, to be honest I never remember any fatalities or serious injuries before all this.
Of course there is the liability thing which is a factor as companies are frightened about getting sued if some one trips over a feather.
It will take years to introduce here, if you high light a safety issue in Thailand, the usual reply is, what's the problem ? Is because labour is cheap, life is cheap here and poorly educated construction workers ?

Probably fraudulent and you are not the brightest person posting it on here, is it any wonder some visas now have stricter requirements? The Government DO read this forum
As for how long the next "Business Visa Crackdown" will be. well not long after posts like yours
The stupidity of some people is mind boggling
Why has the post not been removed knowing the government read the forums ?

My daughter is an adult, married with a young family, she lives in the UK, never been to Thailand and TBH I would prefer if every thing could be arranged with out her having to come to Thailand.
