  1. Sent documents to the UK last week via Thai post, International track and sign. Received 5 days later. A lot cheaper than DHL who refused to collect and informed I had to drop the letter off at their nearest depot, 120 Km away.
  2. You can have less than 6 months validity left on your passport, but your extension (a permit, not a visa) will only be granted up to the expiry date of the passport. After obtaining a new passport, have the stamps transferred, then apply for a further 1 year extension before your last extension expiry date.
  3. All recently changed. The multi entry Non Imm O visa from Savannahket now requires 400K THB in a Thai bank account for 2 months for the application. The single entry Non Imm O is still available without any proof of finances. You can only apply for a 60-day extension in Country to visit Thai spouse - no financials. The wife must attend with you.
  4. Your fortunate then. Many Airbnb owners live overseas and have a caretaker.
  5. You won't lose anything. Immigration will correct the stamp, it happens all the time. Just get that TM30 sorted out before you visit the Immigration office. Even those of us that reside here permanently have to file a TM30. Immigration track the residences of all foreigners.
  6. @miaclarkson03, you are aware that you can extend that 60 day permission of stay by a further 30 days at an Immigration office (once you get your stamp corrected) A land border run and re-entry will grant you a further stay of 30 days, which can be extended by a further 30 days at Immigration. A second land border run and re-entry will grant you a further stay of 30 days, which can be extended by a further 30 days at Immigration. A maximum of 2 land border crossing per calendar year are permitted. An extension at Immigration cost 1,900 baht.
  7. Your proof of online booking counts for nothing. When filing a TM30 Immigration will require a copy of the owner's house book (Tabien Baan) which identifies the address and a copy of the owner's ID card, (that is if the owners are Thai) and a copy of your passport ID page. Most 'tourists' stay less than 30 days and never have need to visit an Immigration office, so the non filing of a TM30 doesn't really affect them. As you have a date to correct on your entry stamp, and if it's your intention to stay 150 days, at some point you'll need to apply for at least one 30 day extensions at an Immigration office, then you need to be aware of only staying at a residence that complies with the law and files a TM30. You can request a copy of that filing, and that's the proof Immigration will require when applying for any kind of service.
  8. Read my above post section 38 and section 4. An Airbnb is not a hotel or guest house, it's a private residence being rented out. That makes you as the tenant just as responsible as the landlord to file a TM30. TM30-Notification of alien residence.pdf
  9. Hopefully they can give you a copy then. This is a law you need to be aware of if you intend to move to different parts of Thailand and visit Immigration offices to apply for 30 day extensions.
  10. Without a notification of where you're residing, Immigration may refuse any kind of service. As the tenant of the residence, they could also hit you with the fine for not complying.
  11. Yes, but don't be surprised if they state not our problem.
  12. Section 38 of the Immigration Act. Section 38 : The house – master , the owner or the possessor of the residence , or the hotel manager where the alien , receiving permission to stay temporary in the Kingdom has stayed , must notify the competent official of the Immigration Office located in the same area with that hours , dwelling place or hotel, within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the alien concerned. Section 4 defines the housemaster as; “ House Master ” means any persons who is the chief possessor of a house , whether in the capacity of owner , tenant , or in any other capacity whatsoever , in accordance with the law on people act.
  13. It's a notification to Immigration of a foreigner's residence. It's the duty of hotel and guest house managers to file the report. Airbnb are agents, and not their responsibility, unless the owners have left them copies of their ID and house documents.
  14. This happens more frequently than reported on this forum. Any Immigration office should correct the date on the permission of stay stamp, provided you've filed a TM30 (Notification of an aliens residence) You can apply for a 30-day extension for each 30 day visa exempt entry from a border run. 2 land border runs with extensions will get you 120 days.
  15. On the contrary, don't bring your 'moon of Alabama' misinformation to open internet forums. Freedom of speech ends with freedom of listening to conspiracy theorist nonsense.
  16. I wonder which IO will issue the 'rogue' extension, Khon Kaen perhaps, then you have another issue, but don't worry, for additional fees the agent can sort them out too.
  17. It depends on how many Non O visas the consulate will issue without questioning numerous applications, and of course it depends on how many times he intends to visit Thailand each year and for how long. The Non Imm O-A is a multi entry visa, valid for 1 year, each entry grants a stay of 1 year up to the expiry date, but is subject to the expiry date of the compulsory health insurance he must take out. He'll also require a criminal record check. If he enters just before the visa expiry date, he'll be granted a further one year stay and if he obtains a multi re-entry permit, he can come and go as he pleases for a second year.
  18. It's a 1-year extension of your permission of stay, not a visa. Regardless of whether you apply based on Thai spouse or retirement, the required funds will need to be in a Thai bank account for 2 months prior to the date of application. For the Non O application, the procedure states funds are only required to be in a Thai bank account on the day of application, but as @DrJack54 has pointed out, Jomtien have been requesting those funds also be in a Thai bank account for 2 months.
  19. That's a confusing list. Will you apply for the Non O and 1 year extension of stay (a permit, not a visa) based on Thai spouse, or retirement?
  20. Download the guide in English. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30EN/index.html
  21. I registered as the 'foreigner'. Uploaded copy of passport and yellow house book - completed. Try the 'foreigner' option, upload copy of passport, wife ID card and Tabien Baan.
  22. You're registering you as the foreigner, but I don't see an upload of your passport ID page.
  23. @pattjock Have you already arrived in Thailand and if so when (date of entry), or what date will you enter Thailand?
  24. So his funds are in invested in an IRA account with a financial institution, not a bank. I would transfer the required funds for the Non Imm O into a checking or savings account to be on the safe side. Has he considered the Non Imm O-A visa?
