  1. Google "GMMZ". Good box(s) at low cost (less than 1000 baht).  Really no need to pay more than 2000 baht max.  As for "fully loaded", once you buy the box download AppLinked from Google.  Once you have that loaded on the android box open it, click on "Live Shows" to pick/choose the programs you want.  RedBox Tv has all of the sports you want ie. 13 different Sky Sports options.  Also, TVTap Pro is a good option.  Both RedBox; and, TVTap have options to select country specific programs.   You can browse through AppLinked to select other viewing options as well.  There's no magic involved in "loading" the programs; so, you should be able to set it up to your liking without paying someone.  Top tip, every so often left mouse click (long click) on the installed app icons until a "Start/Details" box appears.  Click on "Details" to clear stored Data/Cache.  That keeps the used memory under control.

If you have time I would edit the first line.........!!!!

I understsand what you are saying; but, anyone  who tells you that the Thai equivalent of that does not exist is lying.  Not sure what it is; but, I have seen more than one dog go missing mysteriously.  I don't think it's a stretch to say that it is a matter of fact way of life; especially, in Issan country.

Not familiar with that office however folk will be along with first hand experience.

You were scammed and that's bad. A simple solution might be to demand a receipt.

BTW not my favourite beach there. Ha.

EDIT: just read above that you have already paid this time and no receipt.

Some posters will advise to make complaint. I wouldn't say that the wrong thing to do however personally I would let it side and now your aware you can avoid it next time..

I'm sure this is wonderful news for non golfing Thai tax payers and those whose incomes have disappeared, without any income support from the government, during the  current pandemic.

My post had a dual purpose. First to point out the changes; and, second to shed some light on the money being spent without getting too political.  At least someone was able to read between the lines to get the second part.

  5. Update for anyone interested in playing golf in Ubon.  The RTAFB golf course is undergoing a major renovation.  A rough guess would be they have already spent north of 100 million baht pretty much changing the whole course design/layout.  Hundreds of trees have been removed; and, water hazards have been expanded/added to nearly every hole.  Three new holes have been added, at least 6 holes have had their greens changed/moved; and, tees have been moved/lengthened on many holes.  Two of the new holes are par 5's (not open yet) that appear to be in the 600-700 yard range in length. You almost need binoculars to see the green(s) from the tee boxes.  My guess is it will be close to another year before completion; but, the base commander has put everything on a fast track; so, it could be done in 6 months.  I have to say, it's an amazing sight to see that much money being spent on a military golf course in Thailand (actually anywhere for that matter).

"Logistically very feasible.  How many expats from the US do you think there are in Thailand?  No need to enter very far onto the grounds.  Set up a big tent outside of the buildings.  Safer for unvaccinated people to not congregate inside of buildings anyway.  Appointment system?  Are you kidding?  This is so easy to do.  Easy to automate confirmation emails.  Military medics can be brought in to administer vaccines if needed, but local nurses could also be hired."

    1) The exact number is unknown.  Could be at least 25,000?

    2) US Embassies, in order to enter, have probably the tightest security protocols.  "A big tent"? On Wireless Road?

    3) Appointment system?  How long is the wait now for s simple service at the US Embassy or Consulate.  For passport renewals the US Embassy has been pushing mail in in order to discourage people from coming to the embassy for in person services

    4) Nothing is "easy" when it comes to anything involving the US Embassy

    5) Military Medics? From where?  The nearest US Military base with medics is probably in Japan or S. Korea.  The embassy reports to the State Department and Military Medics are under the control of the Defense Department.  This would require cooperation between DOS and DOD(sometimes not so much)

    6) Local Nurses?  How would the Thai Government feel about that?

    7) The odds of an Embassy that charges $50 for a Notary stamp and no longer issues income letters taking on  this type of mission is Slim and none.

As an American who has lived in several countries I have always felt rather unwelcome whenever I went to US Embassies.  This includes Thailand, Kuwait, Haiti, Kabul and Baghdad.

What makes you think Thailand is going to invite the military from another country into their country? Why is the U.S special? What about Russia, China, North Korea, Myanmar, Afganistan, Iran, Iraq, etc?

The fact I am pointing out, simply, was that there was a lot more travel than people give merit to before the holiday. It wasn't like everyone was at home and suddenly there was a great unleashing of travel, thus the bump in positive cases.

Is there a factual error there? If so I am interested to know. I am always ready to modify my thinking with the addition of new and salient facts.

Just curious what your take is on the fact that Covid cases across the country spiked post Songkron; and, not during all that travel you referred to pre-Songkron.
