My dish blew off the roof in a recent storm. Both the shops in Ban Chang no longer have a technician (TIT).
Can anyone provide a number for a technician who can help me out?

As usual the standard clap trap response from the UK Government.
Sure it would cost them a shed load of money to bring the pensions inline with UK based pensioners, but what is not mentioned is the savings made by us 'exiles' not be a drain on the NHS and state care services. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the figure exceeded the quoted upgrade costs.

Re photos showing both of us sitting at dining table, on sofa, in kitchen, outside by house number, in front of car with registration plate, sitting on bed, by an open wardrobe showing wife's clothes and finally another wardrobe showing my clothes.
Yes the office is on the far right.

At Maptaphut I was applying for an extension based on marriage to a Thai using the monthly overseas income method.
On my pre application visit I took all the original marriage and residential documents for both of us and a sample of one month's income i.e. UK bank statement highlighting the transfer entry, transferwise receipt (2 pages) and credit advice reciept and a kbank statement for that month again highlighting the transfer entry.
I also provided proof of UK state pension and UK pensions and annuities.
These were all checked and approved.
A shed load of paper on the actual day of application with EVERY page of non original documents signed by me and the marriage documents counter signed by my wife.
ALSO the entire wad of documents had to be copied and signed as these copies stay at Maptaphut whilst the others are sent to Bangkok for considerstion.
We also had to bring a friend along as a witness.
The next day they sent out a colleague to fill in forms and have his photo taken with the three if us (wife, witness and me) in the lounge and outside by the house number.

My marriage extension at Maptaphut is currently 'under consideration'. The lady processing the application is thorough but does not like to be questioned.
She accepted 4 photos per printed page and wanted 8 in total.
If it is not too far I strongly suggest you pay her a visit before doing the application for real.
As for the attitude towards not wishing to do a marriage extension, I was not aware of any negativity.
Good luck.

It appears that my redacted areas were visible to some people some of the time!
I feel unable to re-post the data in any format as I have no confidence that redaction will be universal.
Sorry folks

Are you using TransferWise into Kbank???????????
-
Tracy, are you transferring funds through TransferWise or SWIFT?
-
and here was my reply from them
Dear oxmermaid,
Referring to your request Kasikornbank would like to confirm about the teller ID on saving deposit account statement which is MCL00001.
The teller ID "MCL00001 " means international fund transfer from other bank with API system (Application Programming Interface).
and I already have the credit advice.

Folks, here we have the perfect storm, TW new software AND Kbank new software result chaos!

TW is not to blame, they always have said from the start that the last leg of the transfer is domestic.
This is not in dispute. However in the past, if their transfer was routed direct to your Thai bank account, it appeared as an International Transfer in your bank statement. It was because of this that many of us contacted TransferWise to ask that they intercept transaction to ensure it was routed directly to our Thai bank account. Until recently this was achieved, but sometime last month they withdrew this option, hence the fallout on here and other forms of social media. TransferWise have now stated they can no longer do this manual intervention they recommend using SWIFT, so goodbye TransferWise it was nice while it lasted.

Good evening,
I have just received this email response from TransferWise to my plea to ensure the transfer from my overseas goes to the directly my Thai Kbank account, it's bad news I'm afraid :-
Since we cannot guarantee a specific transfer type (international transfer), we can only confirm that we payout funds domestically. If your request is to have transfers displayed on your bank account as international transfers but our partners' decision is to display these payments as domestic transfers, I can only recommend SWIFT transfers from here on in.
So I have two options now,
1. BBL London branch to send transfer from my UK account to my BBL Thai account
2. SWIFT transfer from my UK Barclays account
I have tried and failed to get TW to alter their stance. I have told them that this stance will lose them many, many clients.
Sleep well

My last transfer into my Bangkok Bank was last week, it had the code I needed.
As far as I know KK has always shown the “Dummy Branch” Code for TW deposits, at they have for me since I started using them in Feb last year.
I’m not saying there hasn’t been a glitch, but the whole debacle shows how bonkers the new rules are.
It is my understanding that TW introduced a software upgrade(!) in early June to trial automatically routing payments directly into your BBL, TMB and KK account. It failed. The upshot was that in my case it went to TMB who paid it into my KK account as a Thai inter bank (i.e. national) transfer. Meaning that a credit advice note could not be generated. TW attempted a second (duplicate) transfer on 27/6/19 which showed up as per my opening post. After a lot of digging I established that the transferer was "Agent Transferwise". Not BBL or TMB. TW suspect that KK have also upgraded(!) their software which currently cannot show this transaction as an International transfer.
As you said, bonkers!
To err is human but to really screw things up use a computer.

I've just looked at one of mine and it states TMB as the transferree into my SCB account and it shows the transfer as pounds sterling.
Without wanting to go over ground already covered in other threads, would you trust a front of office Immigration Officer to spend time ploughing through TW and other bumph when all they want is 12 international transfers one every month? You are right in collating the data but the IO has the power to reject if they so choose.

just did a transfer on 24 June from . my US bank to Bangkok Bank. No need to do a Callback to make sure it went to Bangkok Bank. Went into the bank a couple of days later to get a credit advice to use with immigration and it confirmed that the funds had arrived as FTT.
One thing to note about Transferwise is that they raised their fee between this transfer and the prior one. For about the same US$ transfer amount, the fee increased from US$18.73 to US$22.60.

Hmm, I got this email from Transferwise :-

Hey Xxxxxx,
BBL will definitely issue the transfer as a domestic payment - therefore I wouldn't recommend BBL because they will issue the transfer exactly like TMB and they don't have the possibility to issue any supporting documentation that might help your case.So has any one out there done an international transfer with TW to BBL, TMB or Kbank in the last 48 hours? Was there a problem with the transaction code designation?I am more confused than ever. If things were not so serious I would laugh it off, but this seems to be the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Both with TW and Kbank. What a foul up!TIT and all that ????- 1

This glitch appeared last week, when was the last time you tried the BBL transfer?

Hi,
TW told me BBL (Bangkok Bank Limited) are also affected by this 'glitch'! Don't shoot the messenger ????

There are currently a series of software problems between TW and Kbank with the net result that the TW transaction appears as DUMMY BRANCH MCL00001.
TW tell me that they are urgently addressing the problem but have advised me to go to my nearest Kbank International center so they can notarise the transaction as being an international transfer for purposes of annual extensions based on income or combination methods that are required by the Immigration office. BBL and TMB (TW's other partner banks) are supposedly also having similar problems.
I have been interacting with TW since the start of the year so that they manually process my UK transfer to my Kbank account as an International transfer but this problem occurred for the June transfer.
I have talked to the Rayong (Maptaphut) Immigration people who, in my case, are applying leniency to the June transfer.

Well that would be a good result and ease a lot of people's concerns. Should be straightforward for them knowing the target bank.
Although another thread is suggesting their transfers sometimes go astray!!!
Our only hope is that IOs look upon such 'astray' transfers (wrong designation) 'lienently' as they can be backed up with the country of origin bank statement and TW pdf showing the in/out transfered amounts. Flimsy I know but what other choice / hope do we have.

BUT there is no guarantee and the odd rare one may show up as a domestic (SMT) transfer, in my case 1 of 2, it shows Partner Bank as TMB.
In an environment where you have to prove 12 monthly international transfers to get your extension, one not qualifying is a problem!
Agreed it is a problem. I have raised this with TW. I have a Kbank account and the random nature of which partner TW selected meant that I had a 33% chance of the transaction showing as International, otherwise dummy branch.
TW manually processed yesterday's transfer and it did indeed go into my Kbank account as an international transfer.
They assured me that they are in the process of automating the transfer of funds whereby it will go directly into your Thai bank account as an international transfer. I can only vouch for Kbank transfers obviously.

scubascuba3, personally I am waiting until I do my 90 day then I will seek local TI clarification.
After many years here - even their clarification is liable to change on a day to day basis.
I pity those who are the pathfinders on this new TI chapter. It will need a few weeks/months for an agreed criteria to be locally implemented at your nearest TI.

Tanoshi, agreed about statements being required. My concern is that unless TI see the word 'International' in a credit transfer they MAY choose to ignore that entry for purposes of the income calculations. Hence the need for Kbank to let TI know what the AAAxxxxx format codes mean.

hansan5, I agree the coding is a mess, but the branch showed me a text translation saying that the codes were being 'rationalised' as they recently expanded the suffix (i.e MCLxxxxx) from 4 to 5 digits and are 'in the process' of implementing 'narrative changes'
Not holding my breath on that one either

Thanks for the info. I hadn't realised that the Thai TV had a free app.
As I already have IPTV for my TV and video needs, I have just installed the Thai TV app.
