All those who winge about Thai immigration laws should read this and hang their heads in shame.
What the hell are you on about?
Her tourist visa expired in March and she is still there.
They tried to change her visa to a spousal visa from the UK.... You can't do that. Has to be done from outside same as Thai regulations.
Thailand is on the verge of doing this to potentially thousands of farang. Will they hang THEIR heads in shame when men are torn from their children and girlfriends???
Why do you think these people should get special treatment because some guy died in a motorcycle accident???????
She clearly has not gone through procedures, and that is why she is having to leave.
I hope they don't issue her visa. She seems to have overstayed.
I am here because I did the right things to qualify for my visa..... I expect no special treatment like this couple seem to.
Go home and do things properly.

How about citing corruption?

Such a shame that.
Tthe In-laws have saved up for years to visit Libya and only just last week booked their flight.
They will be devastated.
I take it this is pure sarcasm.

It's not unusual for a criminal to lash out when they get caught and blame everyone else.
It won't do her any favours, she may well be up in court sooner than she thinks for defamation.
Especially when all the evidence piles up and is sat on the table for all to scrutinize.
In the press statement, Yingluck said the trip was personal. "I am now an ordinary person and I should have the same rights as all Thais.
No.... you have the same rights as a suspected Thai criminal, and those rights do not include skipping out of the country just before being indicted on criminal charges.
I am now 100% convinced this is all arranged with the junta to allow her to flee.... Bad decision if this is to maintain unity, she will just start stirring the crap when safely out of the country, and there goes all the unity work they have done up till now.... Not that there are any signs of unity.

In before all of the "I've never lost anything through Thai Post" and "You should always use the EMS service" posts !! (Although, some of the phones I've bought in the past have been strikingly similar to your average rock, but rocks tend to be less annoying and don't get answered as often while you're engaged in "horizontal activities") !!
Well I personally have had 3 parcels disappear at the hands of the Thai postal service. One of them was a wedding present.
I now have everything sent in my wife's name and nothing has gone missing.
The wife says they are targeting me because I have a farang name and they assume it is something expensive.

Here we go.... It's starting to spread already. This time next year the global reserve currency is going to be the Yuan and the USA will collapse both economically and socially.
It will be like an African country in about 3 years.
There will be carnage in the streets.

Hahahahaha.
Bizarre for the USA to chide other countries for creating conditions resulting in mass death.
They have probably been the root cause of millions of deaths using the very same themselves.
So they have concluded that it was not Ukraine then.... Well we all knew they would arrive at that conclusion.
USA and Russia should just go to war and be done with it.... Just those 2 countries... I bet the US will back down in a heartbeat.

You may find around 500 Bn in offshore accounts though. I would also check all their associates accounts.

She also noted that NACC chose to hear witnesses who are her opponents. The resolution was also reached without waiting for the completion of the rice stock check.
Maybe she has not considered the possibility that the NACC may already have heaps of evidence to press ahead for prosecution... everything coming along the way will just be a bonus.
Seems to me that all the failings they pointed to did not include the missing rice from stockpiles, so that can be added later.
I am so happy today.
At the very worst, she is gone and never to return.
At best, 10 years in the clapper and hopefully penned into a cage with 50 women some of whom are offspring of previously unpaid rice farmers.

sounds like 2 fools in the wrong place wrong time....why cross the road at a place like that?
RIP
Why do you feel the need to call them fools?
Do you not have any respect or compassion man??
She paid the ultimate price for her error, that should be enough to satisfy you without the need for rude criticism.

you know squat .We KNOW the east ukraine pro Russian seperatists have BUK , so dont spread your bull Mr Fake engineeras former missle oficer i know "BUK" system quite well. It seemes to me that Ukranian militaries tested "BUK" and forgot (or did not know) to turn off missle. there is the jack SH1 which must be connected only when you want to kill a plane. The same situation happened earlyer when unquilifited Ukranians shot Russian TU-154M in 2001.
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
It does not prove Ukraine Doesn't have this system, does it?
Actually the Ukraine military equipment is almost 100% Russian..... Obviously.
Strange how within an hour the Ukrainians were saying it was a BUK.... how do they know what it was????
One of the many strange behaviours of the Ukrainians since this plane was hit.
Ukraine has everything to gain from this and Russia has nothing to gain at all.
It was Ukraine that did this, and it was totally deliberate and planned.
I am convinced of it.

This has Putins dirty finger print all over it ...
Europe and the rest of the world ought to close it's air space to all Russian flights.
Please expand on exactly what Putin gains from this?
If you can't provide credible reasons, then stop posting idiotic fiction.
Also ban all Russian flights?
You have any idea how much global airlines make from Russian bookings?
Idiotic.

If she goes on Sunday, she can stay away for 10 years and come back free.
Anyway, 200K she will spend inthe duty free lounge in a minute.
I don't think she will need to worry about money outside of Thailand. i am sure she has at least 10 Bn in offshore accounts and that is at the very smallest.
She is a major player in this scam and she will have made sure she has gotten her fair share.

is this an episode of 24 live another day? the script is similar to shoot something down, blame it on someone else and start a war
rip the passenger
Probably not far off the mark.
People seem tothink everything is normally straightforward, but in reality at this level of war and politics, it is more complex and you need to reverse what is obvious and you will be nearer the truth.
The US and EU are doing all Ukraine's dirty work for them, and they are going to ratchet this up at any cost.
Remember what sort of people we are dealing with as far as the Ukraine government are concerned. They are no better than Hitler was.
They won't lose a moment's sleep over 298 innocent lives.

Watching the UK Sky News for the past 2 hours.
They make the logical reasoning that the Russians and pro Russian rebels would have no interests in shooting down a civilian aircraft.
However, when i think deeper into it.
The Ukrainian government may however have interests as a propaganda stunt to encourage the pro-Russian rebels to stop shooting at their military aircraft.... Think about it.
I am very suspicious of the dialogue coming out of Kiev within a short time of this incident and the words they are using..... Like they already had a composed script.......very suspicious.
With satellite observation, and a guarantee that the US and others are already scanning the area for the presence of munitions capable of reaching the plane and the area it happened can be pretty much pinpointed. So it is not going to be too difficult to track back the satellite images with nice blue skies and in the middle of the afternoon.
How about considering the Russian armed and backed pro Russian rebels who incidentially are led by a Russian agent, who has warned about flying in Ukrainian airspace. Think about it LS 49 !!!
Trust me... I have thought deeply about this.
Warning people not to fly in Ukraine airspace tells us what exactly? It tells us that Ukrainian military planes are being shot down by the rebels because these planes have been bombing civilian targets in the rebel towns.
No big secret that the pro-Russians are doing that... they never denied it.
Just advising everyone other than Ukrainian military that it is not safe.... which it isn't.
Russia has nothing to gain from this action. Neither do the rebels, and there is no way they did not identify that plane as a civilian aircraft flying at 33,000 feet in a civil air corridor still being regularly used before this incident. There must be scores of airlines flying daily along that route.
It would have been picked up on radar and also constantly pinging its identifier. Highly unlikely a case of mistaken identity.
No.... this was a deliberate attack and the attackers almost certainly knew what it was.
The only people who could make multiple gains from this act, is the Ukraine government.
Strange how they seemed to have a step by step script pretty much instantly afterwards, they even named the type of missile used. They had a mobile conversation all ready in their hands and handed to the press within a few short hours etc..... The suspicions are multiple.
They have so much to gain from this if they can make the mud stick.
They get to make the rebels look like the bad guys, they get international backing to go all out in wiping the rebels out (probably genocide style). They force the Russians to shy away from backing the rebels because of international condemnation.
I believe that true details will emerge over the coming days... The US will probably already know the actual truth because they will have already scrutinized satellite recording of the area and they can pretty much pinpoint to a few metres when the plane was struck and rewind and track back for the missile trajectory and will be able to see what launched it.
If it was Russian, they will almost certainly publish it.... If there is total silence from them, then we will know I was right and was probably a SAM fired by Ukraine forces or a missile fired from one of their air force jets.
If evidence is brought to prove it was actually all orchestrated by the Ukraine neo nazi government.... That is the end of Ukraine, Russia will invade it and take the country, and not much can be said really.

The Thais are obsessed with Thaksin. They can't stop giving him center stage. Amazing. They have nothing else going on. Shame on the Thai press for using this filler and senseless article.
Erm... I think you will find that they are actually hinting that Yingluck is about to do the same, but are being clever enough not to come straight out with it because of defamation risks.
Nothing unusual in journalism.

For the long term Expats , we know all about this despicable character , those that have just joined us , the history of this megalomaniac is interesting indeed, however there is more important issues at hand for Thailand , although Thailand has to be well aware that the return of this person will cause untold problems , especially if someone delivers the lead poisoning remedy, to be for- warned, is to be prepared, he has six years to go before statute of limitations kicks in , this idiot is just as likely to return , possibly on a donkey with a palm branch.
Statute of Limitations?
There is no SOL on convictions.
You need to avoid your arraignment at the court so the court case can't start.
If no court case for the period of the SOL, then the case expires. You are essentially free.
My wife's cousin worked for Krung Thai bank and stole 100,000 baht and got caught. The police arrested him and he got bail, he fled to Rayong before his court appearance and stayed away for 10 years, he has just returned free.
The NACC are going to refer the case of Yingluck next week. Which is why she is probably leaving. If she avoids this arraignment hearing, she can use the SOL but if she is forced to attend the hearing first, and then flees, the court can go ahead and rule in absentia. Then she can't come back..... ever.
Neither can Thalsin.

Here, it is the police that run all the gambling.
When they take out a competitor, that is all they are doing..... taking out the competition.
That goes for all the other activities such as loan sharking etc....

Hope they never get reunited.
Sounds harsh but its chances are probably better without this woman having control over it.

Anybody in ATOC on the ground would be monitoring commerical radio frequencies. A glance at the radar, and a call to verify this aircraft from at least one other location, would have been accomplished.
This seems grossly deliberate or perhaps grossly inept.
Sad. Perhaps the aircraft was used as a pawn to draw in international intervention?
Sorry to speculate...but I cannot think of anything but that.
You have the right to speculate.
I have had the same feelings all night.
It is highly unlikely to be a mistake, there are just too many ways to detect it as a civilian aircraft even to rebels.
Until this incident, there were still many airlines using that route and so commercial flights would be constantly getting spotted. This one didn't exactly just come out of the blue.
Logic seems to point more to the fact it was deliberately targeted as you noted, possibly to use as a serious game changer, and the only side that comes to mind are NOT the Russians.
OK they are showing a posting from the Russian version of facebook that some rebel glorifying the fact a plane had been brought down, which was later deleted.. But it was only some guy revelling in the moment and proves nothing that he or who he supports were involved.

What the hell was it doing flying over the Ukraine
Malaysia air is in big trouble flying over a no g zone.
I believe the flight path was approved, and was not forbidden.
That is being changed.
There was an urgent advisory that went out from the Brits to avoid the area but only an advisory that most took notice of. Alas flying the most direct route saves money on fuel so it was obviously ignored.
Sky news also interestingly named Thai airways as also using that flight path, which I think will now change.

Don't think they care what international community thinks, they've already proven that.Arresting the former prime minister is a giant red flag which would be noticed and likely responded to by the international community.
This development appears to me to be a giant face saving solution for everyone involved.
Nonsense. It's a hyper sensitive matter for the Junta.
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
Maybe it was when the coup was happening, but prosecuting a corrupt PM whose government they then overthrew with plenty of evidence on the table to prove and support a conviction.... Well I doubt they would be bothered what the international community thinks.
If anything it would prove them right to bring down the government in the first place and exonerate them totally.
If this rice scam fiasco had happened in the UK, USA or any western country the results would have been the same... The government turfed out of power and the PM thrown in jail and it certainly wouldn't be a silly 2000 baht fine and a 5 year ban from politics.... It would be the FULL weight of the law.

Why or why must the Shin faithful insist that any comment or action against them must be politically motivated?
Really, you think she's innocent, that not bothering to turn up for one single meeting she was supposed to chair, that all the comments about there being no missing rice or corruption, all the false promises to pay farmers was all acceptable?
But of course, you've reviewed all the evidence, witness statements in coming to your learned opinion.
The NACC believe there is enough evidence to indict her. She should come back and robustly defend herself. She has the money to hire the best lawyers, although explaining how not bothering to turn up and doing anything is not negligence is a tad difficult - and certainly not political motivated.
I have faith in no one and I have no reason to believe she is innocent.
There have never been any credible reports that rice has not gone missing.
Her government was blocked from paying the farmers by the EC.
I am waiting to review the evidence that will be presented at trial just as you are.
I agree with you wholeheartedly that these charges and the trial are and will not be politically motivated. It would be a crime to say otherwise.
I think you will agree with me that nothing in the past 15+ years in Thailand has been more political than the rice scheme itself.
I agree that Yingluck does have access to enough funds to hire the best lawyers in the world to defend herself. Will that be enough money, considering who she is up against?
For someone so sure of himself it must be quite embarrassing to get even the most basic facts wrong :-)
The payments to rice farmers, according to both the then PTP government, the banks and the rice farmer associations stopped in September 2013.
The EC did not get involved until Yingluck stepped down in November 2013, 2 months after the payments stopped.
See what happened there? :-D
"See what happened there? :-D"
I don't know what happened. I do know that we were paid for our paddy in late April 2014 after waiting for a very long time in the in the queue.
There have never been any payments made by banks and or rice farmers associations. Payments were made solely through the BAAC and they did not stop in September 2013 although they were far from orderly payments, and farmers were put in a queue.
This can easily be verified by contacting them yourself.
The rice payments DID stop at the end of September because the first missed promise was end of October all would be paid, then End of November all would be paid, then mid December all would be paid, then end of 2013 all would be paid, then end of January all would be paid. All were broken promises.
Then they borrowed 20Bn at the end of March and a few were paid but most of the money went back to pay the borrowed money back... over 10 Bn never made it to the farmers because they were too inept to sell rice to cover it.
They were boasting future sales of 10 Bn a month, and it took 3 months to sell less and ended up having to use the principal to pay the loan.

23 Americans onboard, which gives the US a reason to ramp up... The fat is in the fire now... May all 295 souls RIP...
You seriously think the US will ramp anything up against Russia apart from sanctions that really the Russians couldn't give a toss about?
The US can't really hurt Russia, they are very self sufficient, as forget any military conflict. The US people will be out on the streets in force to prevent it... if anything out of pure fear.
The USmay have enough military fire-power to destroy the whole planet 50 times over, but the Russians have the military power to destroy the world 20 times over..... So what's the point?
Just in case you were going to quote the US military capability..... lol
Skelton man left devastated after his wife told to return to Thailand
in Visas and migration to other countries
Posted
Rubbish.
So you saying all global immigration rules ought to be lifted in the case of someone being married to a citizen of a country?
Get real.
It is tight for a reason in the UK.
It has a generous benefits system.
It has free healthcare.
It has free education of a good standard.
It has a housing system that gets people housed and they will pay your rent if out of work.
It has many things that get totally abused by people who just go there to take advantage of the system. Even with tight immigration rules millions are there skimming the system to their advantage.
You get none of that in Thailand and have an equally tight and unsympathetic immigration system.
You don't need to be a TVF expert to have an opinion and some experience of immigration rules and why they are there.
