I stay in Thailand now with a 90 days Non O "retirement" visa and will apply soon for a FIRST one year retirement extension of stay. I rent a studio in a residence at Udon Thani in a monthly rental contract basis and few days ago I found out about the list of requirements at Immigration Office there. I was very surprised that they required a one year rental contract and not less because for some reasons, some of us don't want or can't stay live one year at the same place... So, I am looking for recent testimonials from some of you who would have succesfully applied for a FIRST one year retirement extension of stay in a monthly or quaterly rental contract basis only.

My advice before doing a border bounce in order to cancel a valid OA extension of stay is to make sure that your immigration office can accept a Non O visa "retirement" application. Because not all Immigration Office in Thaïland allow it. For example, at Mae Sai Immigration Office (main office for Chiang Rai province), they don't accept a Non O "retirement" application for those who had an OA extension of stay before, even if it was canceled by doing a border bounce. They tell to people to go to Thaï Embassy abroad to do it, at Vientiane for exemple. -
Did anyone succeed recently to apply to a 90 days Non O "retirement" visa at Mae Sai Immigration by first having to bounce out at "Mae Sai/Tachilek" border in order to kill off a OA extension of stay ? Yesterday, I have been to Mae Sai Immigration Office and they refused to allow me to apply for a Non O visa "retirement" because I currently have a Non OA extension of stay, even if I kill off it by doing a border bounce and come back with a 30 days visa exempt. They told me that I have to apply for a O visa "retirement" at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos

I currently rent a condo in Jomtien which is my TM30 registered adress at Jomtien Immigration Office for 90 days report and retirement extension of stay renewal. I plan to make soon a long trip tour througt Thailand for some months, living only in hotel or short time rental. So, if I check out from my current rental condo and don't fill a new TM30 in another Immigration Office during my long trip, can I still make online 90 days report to same adress ? Thank you.

Did you change passport number and adress on your blue book's car and your green book's motorbike at the same time ?

What's happen to those who don't bother to update their blue/green book at DLT each time they change adress...They can't get speeding ticket mail anymore at their new adress...

Renewing Retirement Extension
PETERHOF replied to kingstonkid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At Koh Samui Immigration, you can renew your retirement extension of stay only one week in advance (8-10 days)...30 or 45 days in advance is absolutly impossible. -
Can someone recommend a hospital in or around Pattaya to do a prostate MRI Scan at a decent cost ? Cost is 22 000 bath at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. Thank you.
