  1. They would have spoken to him sooner but he was feeling a little hoarse.
  2. Apprehended for walking in a loud shirt in a built-up area during the hours of darkness.
  3. Meanwhile, in other news today, the PM announced Thailand is offering itself up as host for the 2028 LGBTQ+ summit, "ready to embrace its role as the host of what Thavisin enthusiastically terms the “world cup” of LGBTQ+ festivities." https://thai.news/news/thailand/thailand-to-host-historic-lgbtq-summit-in-2028-a-leap-towards-global-inclusivity
  4. This would be a good name for a band.
  5. Someone should inform the ladyboy in the orange dress that a turf war doesn't mean literally scaling the building and tearing up the astroturf cladding.
  6. 2023 - wine paeng paeng. 2024 - wine tuk tuk.
  7. I just remembered that sketch Dave Allen did, where he observed his name was an anagram of Anal Delve 😂
  8. Two significant developments since you opened the thread in May: 1) Existing Elite packages have been discontinued and cost is now between 50% (5 year) and 500% (20 year) higher than before if you applied after 15th September. 2) The government has announced that from 1st January 2024 it will tax monies brought into the country for all tax residents, meaning anyone here over 180 days per year.
  9. Problem is the Asian hip to waist ratio is different. If you're used to medium in the west (33-35" waist, comfortable to sit down in), the equivalent correct waist size on a pair of local boxers from Big C or Lotus will be way too tight around the hips and buttocks. Same true of trousers here.
  10. This respect and goodwill comes almost by default - it'd require some quite trashy behaviour to lose it.
  11. There's no reciprocal agreement with Thailand. These treaties sometimes go back decades, the Philippines one was sought back in the 1980's by the Philippine government. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/reciprocal-agreements/reciprocal-agreements
  12. Got one a couple of months ago through VFS. They quoted 11 weeks but it arrived in less than 4.
  13. 2004 was when it was 75, but still high 60s in 2006. The exchange rate went south a year or so later with the global financial crash.
  14. This was the go to treatment for anyone under clinical care with a mild or moderate case under the Thailand MoPH guidelines back in 2020-21.
  15. Good question. When registering for the old Section 38 app it was possible to do so as possessor and not involve the landlord at all.
  16. This equates to around 100 baht per month based on the pitiful savings rates.
  17. Unfortunately they seem to follow their own rules of logic. The 200k quadrupled to 800k in 2003. A few years later extension fees quadrupled, overstay daily rate nearly trebled. Mandatory insurance on Non O-A octupled after the first couple of years, and despite early assurances there was no grandfathering. Oh and the 20 year Elite just quintupled.
