Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told the press on Tuesday that the Covid-19 situation in Thailand has not reached the epidemic level yet.
When I read this opening line in The Nation article, one word struck me as significant: "yet." [my bold] Freudian slip?

I think it actually says that the coverage for covid treatment is limited to 50,000-100,000 Baht (depending on plan) which is not much (read further than the short claim for the two plans at the top of the website). The 1 million Baht is only for cases that end in a very serious condition.
What would you expect for a 850 Baht premium?
You are correct. Here is the exact wording (the "fine print") from Roojai's site:
-
"**Any illnesses such as coma, brain and nervous system damage or disorders, terminal illness, and or death, as a direct result of the Coronavirus, determined by a physician. Maximum coverage 500,000 - 1,000,000 THB (depending on the plan)**Medical treatment from infections (Coronavirus (COVID-19)) both In-Patient-Department (IPD) and Out-Patient-Department (OPD) cases Maximum coverage for medical expenses 50,000 - 100,000 THB/year (depending on the plan)"

Those braided lines look like <deleted>, so if you can remove them and check for crud inside then remove any kinks in the line - maybe a simple solution to a hard problem.
Just 3 weeks ago, we replaced these braided lines in one of our bathrooms. We went from zero hot water in the shower to a powerful flow. (16th floor) One line had corroded completely solid!
Great advice from 4reaL.

With Mateschitz's 2020 net worth estimated at $26.9 billion US (according to Forbes), the Red Bull dividends of 343 million Euros pale by comparison.

Clearly you missed my follow-up post which corrected my earlier post...
By the way, I don't stereotype the spelling skills of others just because your spelling skills are weak...

Pattaya's air quality was much worse than that of Bangkok on Sunday. The numbers here were as high as the 170's. Our air purifiers had to be put on high speed for the first time in nearly the one year we have had them.

"13,997 tests per million population in Thailand as of yesterday out of a population of just under 70 million. No wonder there are so few reported cases here. On a per capita basis, that puts Thailand at number 156 out of 198 countries and territories that have reported test numbers. [source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/]"
I have corrected my original post with the words bolded above. Apologies for the poor proofreading on my part with the original post!

You, too, need to read the data correctly. The column heading says Tests per One Million population. Guess we both need to edit our posts... Nevertheless, Thailand is still 165th on the list. Cheers.

Just tie him up and gag him. Then package him up and send by DHL to Malacanang Palace with an explanatory note to Rodrigo Duterte.

Xiaomi 3C. Bought 2 from Lazada, but I see they have none in stock now. Work great. Use them both in our 80 square meter open sitting-living-kitchen area during the day. Then, one in each of our two 40 square meter bedrooms during the night.
I see that this model is currently available from Shopee at 3,190Baht. Be sure you buy the GLOBAL VERSION. This will allow you to buy the correct replacement filters in future.
We have used our machines for 9 months now and the LED display shows 60% filter life still remaining! GREAT VALUE and great air quality!

The best earplugs I have found are made by 3M: 310-1101 Classic Plus Disposable Foam Uncorded Earplugs. I've used them for over 10 years for sleeping at night. Buy them in a box of 200 pairs from Amazon.com.
The cost delivered to your home here in Thailand is $34 + $44 (the latter is for delivery and the import charges) = $78 US (about 2,400Baht). I use each pair of ear plugs twice, so a box of 200 pairs last 400 days (6Baht per day). 3M states that these plugs reduce noise by 33Db.
NOTE: Buy the Classic PLUS version, as that is their highest Db reduction, and be sure you are ordering the UNCORDED type.
Sometimes, if the noise level is SEVERE (such as renovations in the adjacent condo unit), I wear my Bose noise-cancelling earphone in addition to the earplugs. It is exceedingly rare that I don't have a good night's sleep (and I am a light sleeper!).

According to Worldometer, Thailand ranks 154th!! in the world for testing for Covid on a per capita basis. (154th out of the 196 countries or territories that have done tests.) Worldometer states that Thailand has tested only 749,213 people which translates to only 10,729 people per million population.
Crystal clear why other countries don't want Thailand on any kind of "green list."

Would it be possible? (I'm not an expert) ... Could you offer her a cash settlement to relinquish her 50% share of the house? On the condition, of course, that the house be legally transferred to your daughter before ex-wife receives her cash. Included would be a legally-binding usufruct allowing you to stay in the house.
That way, you avoid trying to "distress sell" a property in a depressed market.
(This assumes that she cannot be "bought off" for less than a 50/50 share of the house.")

Two posters have referred to the Thai prime minister as the head of state. He is not: he is the head of government. H. M. The King is the Thai head of state. Just as in the UK, Betty is the head of state.

Their "cash cow" used to be the "beautification" of Sukhumvit Road, they spent literally millions of $ beautifying it, then dug it all up and made more lanes! now they have moved their attention to beach road, wonder who owns the majority of the land and property in that area, rumour has it a lot is owned by a well connected family from Chon Buri?
These endless budgets for beautification must be getting more difficult to justify ????
Everyone at City Hall, from bottom to top, knows how the "system" works! WHY would you have to justify anything to anyone? WHAT would you have to justify? After all, simply "business" as usual! (The fact that it is for underwater toilets and to replace the trees that were torn out is irrelevant.)

To answer the question in the heading of this thread: Yes.

This case is an enormous "cash cow," and the number of "pigs to trough" will be endless (with some coming to trough more than once for a "refill").
Initially, I was going to post that the corruption is unbelievable. The level of corruption is NOT unbelievable, however, when taken in the context of where we are!
Why not just get it over with and wrap it up now? Welcome "Boss" back with open arms, give him a parade, and then make him a senator.

Agreed. And Nadler is just a spiteful, pathetic McCarthy wannabe. Nadler is the Peter Principle in action: clearly incompetent to head a committee.

I do wonder how many zeros were on the price tag for this travesty. (Or should I say price tags as there certainly would have been many at the trough.) Our high-roller Ferrari killer might want to keep a low profile. It would be a "shame" if some civic-minded Thai decides that "street justice" is in order.
Thailand isn't even remotely close to emerging from the "third world." The country resembles a circus, and a poorly run one at that, making of Thailand a laughingstock.

I think just like Eindhoven and 20 years in Thailand never bitten, so who is wrong ?!
Take a look at the photo in post #16.
You and Eindhoven feel that because the two of you have not been bitten/attacked that these attacks do not occur. Not exactly deep thinkers these two!

Orton Rd posted (post number #7): "Dogs are nasty, deceptive, and dangerous animals."
In reply to that, Eindhoven (post #10) posted: "Utter rubbish. Don't project your bizarre fears on to innocent animals. I come into contact with dogs every single day. None of them conform to your view. Not even one." (my bolding) He condemns Orton for projecting. How? By making a statement which is also projection! This is hypocritical.
The bolded three words in Eindhoven's quote above are laughable at best, but more accurately could be termed imbecilic.
Furthermore, why does he use the word bizarre? I hope Eindhoven looks very closely at the photo in post #16. Is it bizarre that some people have realistic fears when you see something like the damage done to that young boy?

Selling Price Higher than Advertised Price or Shelf Price

Your statement is totally logical, but it is not correct according to contract law. Regarding offer and acceptance, as silly as it seems, when a customer takes a product to the cashier, the customer is deemed to be making the offer! The acceptance is made by the store. Legally, then, the store can decline to accept the store's own stated price!
This, at least, is the law in Canada. In Canada (unlike what some OPs have said applies to the UK) there's no law that requires companies to honor the advertised price if that price is wrong. Of course, there have been many well-publicized instances where the company DOES honor the advertised price, and then makes sure that it receives good press coverage for its magnanimity.
