  1. It happened to me one time only (among tenths of orders). But oh BOI it was annoying, the post / custom station you have to go is really really far in Bangkok and then you wait in queue and open your packet in front of someone working for the customs i guess and she'll check it and ask you the value. AKA how to waste half a day, but that's probably 1/1Million in terms of probabilities. EDIT : I was going to say they were maybe looking for drugs but i remembered she didn't even check anything in the package.
  2. What parts du you need from a CB300F that you can't buy for cheap at the dealership ? Cause unless you've bent the forks or the frame i don't see ?
  3. And cheap to fix. Just make it easy for you OP and get a Honda, they have the biggest dealerships network by far and cost nothing to fix. Wave or Click or PCX anytime, that's the 3 you want to be buying, or a limited edition doreamon Scoopy if that's your thing !
  4. It depends from where you buy. If the seller declare the item's value to customs then you're <deleted>, otherwise you may not pay anything or they may hold your package at the main post office somewhere freaking far in Bangkok and they will check (with you) what's inside and ask you about the value and apply taxes accordingly (happened once for computer spare parts bought on ebay).
  5. Where do you intend to buy all those parts ? What scooter is it ? Because every time i have ordered spare parts from Japan for ex I was hammered by VAT and import fees, I can't remember for sure but totally i think overall it was roughly 30% of taxes. Now you can always find some sites that let you declare the package's value and you can lower it, but not sure what happens if you get caught. As for importing a bike, forget it, what people used to do back then was to dismantle the bike and import it as spare parts (lower import fees on spare parts), then reassemble the bike in Thailand and with some magic trick / tea-money at the DMV they used to be able to register the bike. Plenty of CB400SF and CB1300 have been imported like that back then.,
  6. Super late answer. Basically for a door to door service all included it's 90K from Thailand to France and takes 50 days. I don't have any import fees as i'm returning to leave in France so the VAT and import taxes are waved. I'll know more by tomorrow, should start the process on tuesday / wednesday
  7. It normally takes 24/48 hrs to get a e-visa from the Thai embassy in Paris. However they have been struggling with the e-visa system since the beginning of November now, mine took 2 weeks to get approved, friends that had applied before November all had their visa approved within 48hrs. I guess they now have hundreds / thousands of old requests to process which makes things even worst. You can contact them @ [email protected] ‎to check your status / try to push the request, they kind of answer. Forget the phone it's a lost cause. Who told you it would take 45 days + ? was it the embassy itself ? I guess how long it takes is a matter of how many pending requests they have vs how many people actually work in the embassy, the E-visa issues was kinda global (from my understanding).
  8. Will require a TP ? What does TP stands for ? Also, it doesn't seems like there's any flights between BKK and Cambodia right now, or at least no Air Asia, unless i'm doing it wrong.
  9. So because their e visa system was broken i received my SETV visa 1 day after entering Thailand (i mean, of course). I had to amend my return ticket at the last minute so that my POS doesn't go over 29 days (didn't want to try my luck with the IO with a too long return ticket and no Visa). So, i know that i could extend my 30 days exemption to another 30 days, but i was wondering if there was a way the immigration could "cancel" that stamp and validate my SETV visa without me having to exit / entering Thailand (which would be hard because there's flights for Laos / Cambodia / Vietnam / Penang). I know that it wouldn't have been possible to do that before, but considering the covid situation, is there any chance i could do that at Changwatana ? that would give me 2+1 months instead of 1+1 Any idea ? thanks
  10. I stayed at surestay by bestwestern sukuthmvit 2. Good experience, airport transfer was fast, did PCR test on the road to the hotel around 9AM, slept between 10 and 5PM (amazing bed !!) woke up, called the reception and they had my PCR result, negative, checked out around 5PM. Everything was smooth, really can't say anything negative about the experience so yep, can highly recommend that one.
  11. Wonderful, i arrived on Tuesday 16 and received my visa on the 17th ! hourray
  12. Welcome to the club, applied on the 3rd. The Thai embassy in Paris is a joke, if there's already somebody on the line it just hangs up on you (no ringtone), there's no double call / queue, you need to keep trying and trying and trying until they hang up and THEN eventually you will maybe, possibly, talk to someone. + the visa service is only opened between like 3 and 5PM, good luck with that
  13. Applied on 3rd November, still nothing. Leaving on monday, i tried to book a airasia flight out of Thailand within 29 days so that i the immigration leaves me alone and gives me a 30 days exemption but i couldn't find any flight (covid). Gonna have to shorten my original flight and extend it later, holy *** that's annoying i've already amended all my bookings +1 week because they did not deliver me the visa on time, i'm not doing it again, BANZAI
  14. So, After days and days waiting for my visa and harassing the embassy they called me 2 days ago saying that their e-visa system was broken (they couldn't access the system) and it will maybe be fixed today (well, guess what ...!?) I've had confirmation from people in another thread (LA consulate said the same) so i think it might be a global issue and not just with the Thai Embassy in Paris like i first thought. Anyone has some updates about it ? Any chance that the system will really be working again on Monday ? Did anyone manage to have a e-visa delivered that week ?
  15. <deleted> is that hahah. Thanks, that raises a lot of questions, will do in last resort. My first option is to amend my current booking for a return within 29 days and then amending it again later on. It's free to amend the booking (given the new flight costs the same) however it's unclear if it's a one time thing only or if you can do it as many times as you want. Will give them a call tomorrow.
  16. <deleted>. My embassy give me the false hope that it was maybe going to be fixed tomorrow, they probably just said that so that i shut up (i'm leaving on monday and i've already amended all my bookings once because of that issue, DAMN)
  17. Damn i've been trying to look for a cheap airasia flight from BKK to vietnam or KL or penang and i can't find anything. Have they completely stop these flights because of the covid ? Where could i book, any idea !?
  18. Paris. When did you apply ? It's been edit : almost 9 days now for me, while all my friends had their visa within 24-48 hours. So if you applied less then 48 hours ago i wouldn't worry, if more, I'd call them tomorrow just to make sure.
  19. I don't think it's everywhere, probably just for the embassy i applied
  20. Yup just take a cheap flight to Vietnam or Penang. Be careful air asia seem to blacklist the CC you used if you do a no show (already happened on 2 of my CC in the past).
