This must be one of the very few countries in the world where the police chief has to remind his minions to refrain from drugs while on duty. What about a lil shot of whiskey to help get through the dull days of exhausting law enforcement? Been here for many years but I still can't believe some of the stuff that goes on.

So the PM want's to reduce highway deaths because it makes him look bad? I guess that's progress but he will need police that actually do their jobs and enforce road safety. The children in charge can deliver all the prizes they want but little will change on the highways.

Why not give 10K baht to the police so they will do their job. If the police knew they would get 10K for actually practicing law enforcement, traffic violations would be dramatically reduced. Offering 10K to the general public is basically outsourcing law enforcement and encouraging anyone with a cell phone to rat on their fellow citizens. It also sounds like another devious plan by the RTP to avoid doing police work.

It's still normal and isn't likely to change anytime soon.
