To be fair.. about a week ago there did appear to be a storm on the way from the west.. but it dissipated. I find it interesting that what weather is coming in from the west is being forced south by a strong northerly airstream crossing the South China Sea.. moving into the gulf of Thailand... and then circulating north into central and north east Thailand. It appears that this will continue for at least the next 10 days..

Transcending fear...
It is fear that keeps us in situations that we are not comfortable in. A job we don't like, an unhappy marriage or in a social situation where we may feel like a square peg in a round hole. Fear of the consequences if we make a change.
Fear is an insidious thing.. If asked to describe fear we may focus on external things that may threaten us but fear lurks in dark places. It shapes our decisions and keeps us in situations we may want to get out of and we may not even be aware that it is fear that keeps us there.
We learn to distrust our intuition. The pressure to conform and 'fit in'.. to a job or a marriage that makes us unhappy makes us deny our underlying knowledge that we are not being true to ourselves.
If we wake up one day and realize that it is fear that keeps us in untenable situations the world changes. If we get in touch with our intuition and start making decisions based on what we really want and are prepared to accept and deal with the consequences we start to become ourselves. This is liberation. The change in us is not becoming a different person but becoming who we really are.
Transcend fear and become yourself.

Is most likely the reason my transfer from Singapore this morning is still to arrive. Probably turn up tomorrow afternoon. I'm not in any rush anyway, but TW could probably post more realistic and less optimistic arrival times based on the data they have.
...perhaps they should follow their estimated arrival times with... 'Inshalla..'...

..increasing the speed limit to 120 k should help...

..'Transferwise are moving the times...'.. I think this is wrong thinking.. placing the blame on TW.. I think you will find that the problem is at the other end.. your receiving bank.. if your bank isn't 'open'.. due to weekend or a holiday.. your transfer won't go through until it is 'open'.. Having said that TW did send a reminder awhile ago that if money is sent at a busy time.. the 1st of the month for example.. when there is a large amount of activity.. you transfer might be delayed. I don't believe that TW deliberately move transfer times.. I think Friday is a bad day to start a transfer.. if there is a delay for any reason your transfer will not be completed until the beginning of the following week.. keeping in mind public holidays at either end.. I make my transfers during business hours Mon to Thurs.. rarely experience a delay..
I should add.. I always use a Debit card for my transfers.. other methods of payment may take longer.. possibly needing processing at either end..

I suggest Bluetooth. Open the settings and click on Devices. On the right hand side of page is a notice to send and receive via Bluetooth. Open the Gallery on the phone and hold finger on each photo until a tick appears. Share to the computer. Job done.
Good suggestion.. exactly what I do.. works well..

White elephants all belong to the King. It costs a lot to keep one.. requiring several handlers and a lot of food. In the old days a King would give one to a troublesome courtier .. to keep him broke. Hence the term 'white elephant'.. But I guess you knew that..

It doesn't bother me a bit. I have a lot of trouble getting Thai names right.. they find it almost impossible to pronounce mine.. My father-in-law calls me Jonny because he can't pronounce my name.. I don't think they mean anything derogatory in calling me 'the ferang'.. just a easy way to identify me..

Well.. put yourself in their shoes for a minute.. you try saving money when you earn 350 Bt a day and have a family to support.. or for a family with an income of 40,000 a month with kids to send to school and all the other costs of trying to get by.. the stupidity is not understanding the pressure Thai people are under..

Depends on how your house is constructed... When I added on to the old house we bought I did cavity walls downstairs.. insulating block outside inside regular concrete block.. verandas shading the walls.. that part of the house I open up at night and close up during the day... it stays cool all day. The old part of the house .. 1 layer concrete block (rendered).. <deleted> insulation above... is hot no matter what I do.. We open it up in the evening and it is tolerable.. but I would hate to have to spend the day in there.. A rebuild is on the cards for that part..

I have a wonderful relationship with my wife.. I love her and would not want to do anything that would hurt her or our relationship. Also I don't want to live with secrets or the anxiety of something untoward being discovered.. or the possibility of bringing home an std..

Not this time, because I will have turned 70 and in my state they will want to do an eye and physical exam. I'll try to get the international DL at DLT once this Covid outbreak ends. Thanks.

That will not make any difference, most folk will just keep on driving, with or without license.????????????????????
It seems to be the case.. a year ago my daughter was in an accident with a motorcycle.. his fault.. no drivers license.. no insurance.. alcohol on his breath.. A friends wife has been involved in 2 accidents one recently.. one a year ago..once with a motorcycle.. once with another car ..(overtaking on the inside motorcycle lane!) .. again both times no license or insurance... and not her fault... on and on it goes.. ????
