Thanks all for your suggestions. I have decided to give Melantonin a try but will keep all others in mind. Speede-With the cancer and chemo my tongue on the right side is very swollen and that limits what I can eat and swallow. My saliva glands have been destroyed by radiation and dry mouth is a problem also. I am able to eat almost any liquid foods-porridge,pasta,spaghetti,poached/scrambled eggs and a pureed mix of vegetables which is awful but filling. I also take Ensure at least twice a day,eat ice cream,yogurt and smoothies. I f you have any suggestions they will be welcome. I do not watch much tv-I leave that to the better half.

I am having treatment(chemo) for mouth cancer. Although I am restricted in my eating ability and what I can eat the thing that brings me down is the lack of good sleep. I have Tramadol for pain(not bad) and a liquid morphine which I can spray on to the tumor and that helps a lot with pain. The biggest problem is finding something that will do the pain job and also allow me to get 6-8 hours sleep on the go. I'm awake 2-3 hours after going to bed and find it very difficult to sleep well after that
I also have Lorazapam but I find this not good. Ideally a combo pain killer/sleeping aid would be my wish. I do not want addictive drugs nor do I seek to abuse them. Any thing that can help me in this situation would be helpful

I renewed my Non Imm. O retirement extension on the 26th. last month. On my 90 day report slip the report date is the 4th.August. After getting my passport back with the new stamp for extension,the IO wrote "book bank 3 mths" on the 90 day notification slip. P'lok office,good service as always although I don't know if they want the "book bank" shown to them on the 4th Aug. or 3 mths. after my extension renewal. I think I will make a copy of my "book bank" for the 90 day date and see what transpires.

My car's registration is due for renewal next week. Was going to go to local DLT but is that now necessary or still required to do by renewal date?

Australian Embassy no longer issue letters for visa extension. Said now not needed.

I would care and I AM in the their system. Good for you if you can thumb your nose at them but I certainly will not. Some people err on the side of caution.

Some very interesting comments-first up HE did not appear in a uniform of any sort. Had on casual clothes and the cap.scarf. I was inside and my wife was outside when he arrived and the first I knew of it was when She came in and asked for my passport. I went out and was handed a form (in Thai) that a previous Falang had added his name and age. That was it for me-my wife did all the rest and I went back inside. HE left around 5 minutes later to see the German chap next door. Could have been Or Bor Tor or Tessabaan-not immigration. He could have also shown my wife ID when he arrived. She did not say so but I am used to getting only half the story because of "can not say English". Not many Falangs out here where we are-HE had only 3 on his books. If I had arced up about ID or not showing passport who knows where that would lead to-I have had a very enjoyable ten years here and intend to have another ten so I will not rock the boat unnecessarily.

Today(9th.) have just had a visit from a Thai person with blue cap/yellow scarf inquiring as to my last entry to Thailand. He spoke to my partner and I had to provide my name and age and produce my passport so that he could check last entry and extension validity-also looked at TM 30 receipt and 90 day receipt. All good and said he would be back tomorrow with a certificate/paper saying I had not been out/in from Thailand since the Covid restrictions were put into effect. He had the addresses of 2 other falang in my area and had visited them also. Any one else had a visit from I presume Tessabahn or similar asking for this? I'm not at all worried just curious.

Recently had 4 nights in hospital having chemo treatment. Private room in public hospital,all meals,wife can sleep on sofa bed,all meds and accessories,can take own food or use Black Canyon (yum )-total cost under 15,000 Baht.All very professional staff-excellent treatment. Have 2 more sessions to go then hope all is ok. I am self insured by the way.

To those Australians who are on a non-imm. o (retirement extension )yesterday I emailed the Australian Consulate in Phuket asking for the support letter. Today I received that letter-it asks Immigration to extend their help to any of us renewing extensions. Mine is not due till June but thought I would be proactive and get it now. Won't know till I renew if needed or not at my office. (Phitsanulok)

Australia has 52 cases so far-Thailand has 42? Unrealistic given the Asian presence here. Also 2 deaths in Aus.-only 1 in Thailand? Again unrealistic figures.

I'm going to try one more time-my glasses have prescription lenses-how measuring between the eyes tells me what variation has occurred since last examination I fail to see. The only website available is American but I repeat myself saying this. The phone might be helpful to get an address since there is no web site (Thai) with any such details. I have my last prescription from Australia-now over 12 months old-and the difference would tell the examiner the correct adjustment to apply to the new lenses. I don't need frame, would just need to have new lenses fitted to my existing frame.
Thank you every one for replying,but I am no further along than before so perhaps if no one can give me phone no./address of Zenni in Chaing Mai better not to post.

I tried the live chat-Cindy was very nice. She said they only have the American phone number and do not have details of any Thai numbers. Back to square one looking for info IN Thailand about Zenni.

I was after a Thai contact number or website so I could contact them for information. The American website has only an American phone number. which is no help.

Except if the IO wants to see you have maintained 800,000 baht in your account for 3 months after the extension is granted. That is one ,ore trip.
