Should I have hernia done in private or public hospital
ubonr1971 replied to ubonr1971's topic in Health and Medicine
Im ok to pay the 150k for private. Unsure if I get to meet him prior to the op but hoping that I only have to spend 1 night in hospital. I assume the next day they will look to see if any alergic reaction to the mesh. Is that correct? If not surely Im good to go After laproscopic hernia repair how soon can I start doing sit ups and push ups, bench press etc. Surely not 2 months... Im into exercise and need a daily fix. Assume I can go for fast walk if Im up to it? Finally, do you know at private hospitals can they give a strong sedative and do it under local anesthetic? I would prefer this instead of general anesthetic thanks -

Adopting a child -just how difficult is it?
ubonr1971 replied to Deserted's topic in Family and Children
Pattaya orphanage will not allow adoption if one parent is a farang. Ironic considering who founded it. Theres one other orphanage in bkk you can try. They can give you the name and phone number -

Interesting to read your report. Looks like its 50k thb cheaper but have to pay flights all that way and jetlag. I cannot tolerate economy class anymore and thus it would be huge cost to fly to Canada. Im ok to try the mesh and spend 1 day in hospital and be back at home the next day. My dr who is going to do it only does hernia surgery everyday. -
My child is in one of the competitive maths programs at a government school. My wife is equally competitive it seems. My daughter goes to sleep at 9pm and this morning I see she is woken up at 445am to study and eat breakfast. At school 745am. This is not how I was raised and according to google kids that age should get 10 to 11 hours a night. IMHO 7hr 45min per night is well below the quota What about your kids?

Duh, you just contradicted yourself. GSB has the word 'government' in it. Are you saying its not a government bank??????????????????? It is the most solid bank in Thailand. I have heard from multiple sources (Thai people) that mega rich thai families keep huge savings in GSB. Also heard it from an employee of GSB who's a friend. IMHO its the best place to park money and many foreigners have accounts there accordingly.

I have accounts at nearly all the Thai banks. Ive left it to the last moment to go in and do facial recognition scan to get the 50k daily limit approved. Out of the banks I tried today was only able to do it at Bangkok bank and Kiatakin. One would think that the govt GSB (pink bank) would be able to do because it is the Central bank of Thailand that is requesting this new BS legislation. But no, they said foreigners can't do it at GSB Kasikorn have no idea. They said foreigners are not able to do it. I told her I just did it at Bangkok bank. Oh.... KTB told me they will have a 'solution' end of July. Im living in a developing country and have to practice my mantra 'I have to lower my expectations'. I said it all the time to myself.

Not working, just helping the wife

YOu dont need a company structure to apply for a WP. You can do it via your wifes name. ie she will pay taxes in her personal name. Take the hotel license that the govt gives you and if you satisfy all other requirements for a WP ie salary and employing x amount of thai staff then you can legally get a WP. BEST to do it after a year of operation. I did it after several yrs. -

Give up the booze and get a job as soon as you get back. No excuses -
I replaced the RCBO and put the new one in. For the last 2 nights it started raining here 4am in the morning. The electric box tripped both mornings. I am suspcious that it might be the outside spotlights ie water impacting the wiring out there. Is this a possibility? To test this should I ask an electrician to remove all such wiring ie disable all outside spotlights and then test again?

Basically, its a complete nightmare to isolate the problem... Months ago we installed a new bathroom. Actually the builder ripped off the old tiles on walls and floor. But he didnt 'waterproof' the room. I didnt know about this. So the new RCBO device will go in the box tonight. And from tonight for 1 week I will not allow anyone to use that shower. Will wait for rain and see if it trips. If no tripping then I will allow use of the shower and see if it trips. Im a bit suspcious. Its above the electric box room to the right 1 to 2m. Wondering if water is leaking on wires there
