  1. Hi guys Are you sure it was a slap, as it was done with the left hand and most people are right handed and would automatically use that. Cheers windas
  2. Hi tontong7 There is no blacklist for trivial things. As others have explained, you have to be a criminal or an over stayer to have entry refused. How is the girl going to know when you return or where you visit. She is full of bull<deleted>, so don't correspond and come back and have a good time. You unfortunately picked up a tainted pussy who may have pulled the same trick previously. Don't judge all the girls by the bad one you encountered. Come and have a great time. Cheers windas
  3. Hi guys I'm 77 now and have had three molar implants over last two years and don't regret it. One in UK @ £2400 (100k bt) and two in Thailand @ 50,000baht each. It's painless, have to wait three months for the bone to heal round the rawplug (implant) before the crown is fitted. UK dentists are a total rip off now days. BUPA dentist wanted £1100 (46000bt) for a crown whereas in Pattaya 9500bt. I had a bridge replaced in Thailand for 24000bt. I didn't bother to ask a UK dentist how much. It would have been more than a business class return flight to UK return. Happy days

    Very hot fridge.

Hi Guys My sister in law has a fridge/freezer that will not freeze. The heat is dissipated via the sides of the cabinet. She insists on covering it with a blanket to make it look nice therefore no heat dissipation. But she is unable to understand the theory of the refrigeration process. So never buys frozen food.
  5. Hi guys My Thai wife and I went on holiday to Egypt a few years back. Arrived at the airport, whilst in the imo queue there were agents running about to get the visa pronto for you for a nominal fee of about 400bt probably shared with IO. I can't remember if we had to pay for visa on arrival.
  6. Hi guys Never bothered to get Thai licence in 30 years, just usually show UK licence. But this year got stopped in North Saturn road by a Copper who tried to commit suicide on my bonnet. The only thing he got me on was I had no IDP. He flashed an old trampled one from a Baltic country he'd nicked off of somebody. Negotiated tea money down from 5k to 1k. Then I was up country caught in a road block and plod asked for IDP. Talked my way out of that one as I was holding up the queue. Maybe they are now checking for IDP as a new ruse for tea money extraction. Happy days.
  7. Hi guys My Thai wife gets things stolen in 4-5* hotels. Money from handbags, new underwear from unlocked suitcases seems to be worst. Mainly by Burma maids. Never had any problems with modern room safes. I should have called the police really as the hotels don't give a monkeys. But the loss was less than the the bib tea money. Sunny days ahead.
  8. Hi guys What I fail to understand is that a shot into the air has to come back down again with a high volocity. All over the world millions of shots are fired upwardly, yet one doesn't hear of anyone getting hurt on thier return. Happy days
  9. Hi Guys It is a problem to get love from a beautiful young western girl when one is in the late 50s and divorced. I married a Thai gal of 38 who was dumped by her Finish boyfriend. Early days a culture shock in UK. But 20 years on still good looking we are like any other couple, have our ups and downs. You can take a girl out of Thailand, but it's impossible to remove Thailand from the girl and family. Marrying any female is a challenge, pot luck really. Happy days
  10. Hi guys It would appear that all the political parties have missed the opportunity of forming a democratic government, whether it be good or bad. That would take the country out of the clutches of the military for the time being. Then there would be another opportunity for another election without the interference of the military. Unfortunately Thais are thier own worst enemies by failing to understand politics and thinking of the country as a whole instead of themselves. The upper crust control the money and that won't change. Happy days windas
  11. Hi guys Went through Bangkok BKK airport recently and they said they don't sell the single carton of GV anymore. So had to buy a wrapped two carton @ 2800 baht. I have the feeling that's not true, they had just ran out. They don't display tabacco anymore, hide in a cupboard at the fringes. The problem is, that's double the UK customs allowance. cheers Windas
  12. Hi guys What ever the crime, money in the hand will normally make it disappear. Putting young underpaid conscripts in a situation where they can be bribed is is a non starter, just makes things worse as the higher ups will want the bung.
  13. Hi hi guys I find this to be true . . .the quiet ones have big money and the ones with big mouths have little money. People with large assets and income rarely disclose it. Happy days. .Windas
  14. By the way try JP Emerald hotel, booked through Agoda
  15. Hi guys The yasothon festival has been moved to start 19th May because of the conflict with the election. I know this because the hotel sent an email to move the room booking. It's a great festival see you there. Happy days Johnny windas
  16. Hi friends. I've been using Agoda this year, their prices have been less than most. Regarding using credit cards, I use the UK cards and I got scammed with an online travel agent for 5Grand that failed to supply airline tickets. I used section 75 of UK law and got refunded, albeit 9 months later. Unlikely to have a refund on a debit card. CC much safer and don't allow any site to store the card. Cheers Johnny
  17. Hi guys It's an international driving "PERMIT" and it's not required in Thailand unless your staying for a long period, then you get a Thai licence.
  18. Hi guys I have a sterling account with Bangkok bank. I just emptied it into my Thai baht account. The reason I don't want it anymore is that they now give no interest currently and charge 2% to pay sterling into the account. Yes they charge 2% to pay into the account.. . Robbing barstewards.
  19. Hi people. At Bkb Silom HO recently I paid in 300,000 BAHT cash, only gave them the pass book. Didn't ask for passport or ID.
  20. Hi friends. It sounds like he didn't have any type of licence to show Mr plod. Never heard of anybody getting a fine for not showing an IDP. Generally Mr plod will have no idea what an IDP is. As advised ask for the ticket with YOUR registration number on it, as they use the same ticket, threateningly many times over. Stood at a junction in patunam and watched them do it. Happy days
  21. Hi friends It's been interesting to see the different views on air fryers. I've had two different size Phillips for around 15 years and I must say we rarely use the conventional oven. One can cook and bake most things you would use an oven for in less time and cleanly. I'm sure if the non believers purchased and used an AF they would see to he advantages. Buy cheap and you buy twice. To do chips put a small amount of oil in the tray as well, cooks as well as deep fat. Only use frozen battered food, it won't do breadcrumbed food very well I've found. Happy cooking. . Johnny Windas
  22. Hi guys. All the hotels around the world I have used have locks that automatically lock the door when one shuts it. These also allow for a dead lock. Are there hotels where one has to physically lock the door with a key, or are they bottom end establishments.?
  23. Not good idea to carry passport unless your moving. I have DL, PP, Visa copied to credit card size and then encapsulated. Never had a problem, even at the bank.
  24. Hi Chaps . . I've been driving in Thailand for mega years. M/c 400bt in chang mia --mrs had no helmet, just had her hair done- traffic cop pocket job. M/c 400bt Pattaya Mrs same thing - police station. Many other road blocks in Hua Hin at the end of a month in a car, not once did they question my UK licence. When on the old paper licence, they couldn't read English so had to let me off. Not once did they ask for IDP. Is it not the case that there is a time limit on home licence before you have to get a Thai licence?
  25. Hi guys A while back I looked up who owned a vast amount of the booking sites.. . . It was EXPEDIA . .I found that they had purchased over 250 of the websites. . You may have noticed that most of the big sites are all the same price for a room. But there are still some independent sites. I once booked a Thai hotel off a site in Brazil from the UK.
