  1. As an option, you can file online anytime, but the deadline for full year 2023 was 31 March. If you are filing to claw back the 15% tax on bank interest, I can't imagine there would any penalty for filing late if they owe you money. For tax year 2023, I filed my PND 91 electronically using the revenue department e-file website (link below). It was straightforward and only took about 20 minutes in total. I used Google lens to translate a few things. To use e-file you have to create an account and if married, enter spousal info (ID) to get that deduction. https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-cms/ When I worked for a BOI before I retired, I had to fill in the PND95 manually and file in person. If you are a tax resident, IMO, the e-file system is a much better option if filing a PND91 is required in future years.
  2. If you need to file a paper return and don't owe any additional tax over what you have already paid, or you are getting a refund, US residents living abroad are directed to send the paper return to the Austin, TX IRS Processing Center (link below) to avoid the scenario you mention above. Been that way for at least 12 years. If you owe $$ and you have to file a paper return for some reason, you can get around the PO box issue by using EFTPS to pay a balance due (same website for quarterly estimated payments) then send the paper return to Austin. You used to be able to send checks to Austin with your paper return, not sure when that changed. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/us-citizens-and-resident-aliens-abroad-where-and-when-to-file-and-pay
  3. If you live outside the US you get an automatic two extra months to file, so no need to file the 4868 (extention) for future reference. Of course if using EFTPS for payments, and if not paid, balance due does begin to accrue interest on 15 April. To give you an idea about processing times I have a couple of examples: In 2021 I had to send a paper return to the Austin Processing Center when the IRS changed the reporting requirement for the 10-year foreign tax credit schedule and TT hadn't made the update to the software by early April. Sent DHL (1200 THB), and was signed for after 7 days but two months later the return hadn't been received / processed. I ended up filing in June electronically after TT software was updated and never heard a word about that paper return. In 2016 also had to file paper return from Thailand when I requested an ITIN number for my wife to file married/joint. Austin Center took about 5 months to process the return / refund and generate the ITIN. Slow, but the process worked.
  4. Pot/Pan packaging now has a symbol (squiggly in a separate box) for Induction friendly if you go that route, but really risk the new surface getting scratched up pretty good. Our solution was to add a second small "Thai" kitchen outside and opposite our indoor kitchen. It includes a two burner gas portable which is perfect for high temp wok cooking and avoids having indoors the eye watering smell of cooking a large amount of Thai chilis. Bamboo and some stinky small fishes are also on the outdoor only list.
  5. I went through this process a couple of years ago after retiring from a BOI company while on a 4 year extension of a non-B. Process was done at One Stop in Bangkok using company agent (the same agent that processed prior extensions and 90 day reporting). My prior employer has over 300 BOI workers, here so a very common process. I am over 50 so switched the reason for my extension from working to retirement and didn't have to leave Thailand. If your employer isn't BOI, sub out OSS below for what ever Immigration office you use. Timeline was sort of like this: 30 April - Gave employer notice I would retire on 30 June May - worked with HR and agent to plan the process 15 June - HR drafted and signed a postdated work permit and extension cancellation letter with date of 30 Jun 20 June - company agent took passport to Chamchuri (OSS) office with copies of my e-work permit, the letter and whatever else they needed 20 June - OSS post dated and cancelled work permit and current extension stamp in passport with a date of 30 June - also gave me the 7 days stamp to leave the kingdom by 6 July (retirement date counted as day 1) 29 June - still working / last day and went to CW Immigration and changed the reason of my extension from working to retirement (had to meet the 800K in the bank for two months and the other paperwork / copies requirements. Received a one year stamp for retirement extension. Hope this helps
  6. Check out Advice PC, either link below or on FB. they have a huge inventory of all PC parts, and very responsive to FB Messenger and LINE. I bought my latest DIY rig from them, same motherboard you post above and about same processor. I'd recommend my glass case but you said you don't want that. https://www.advice.co.th/
  7. Hi, Check out the shrub / wanna be tree below. Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Ellwood's Gold - Lawson Cypress A few months back wife bought 12 for a section of our border wall / side of the house walkway. Plant shops will have different sizes you can purchase and its easy to control the height once planted. Ours are about 1.2 meters high, and receive no direct sunlight. Nice looking plant/tree, slight eucalyptus smell that is supposed to fend off the mozzies (or so we were told by a neighbor). In PKK these sell for 50THB and up depending on size, the 1.2m were 150 THB each. Hope this helps, Chris
  8. I believe your playstore needs to be set for Thailand if it's not already. if you don't want to change your playstore location, you can google search the .apk file or use another 3rd party playstore like APKPure. My dealer added it for me and set it up, but my playstore location has been set to Thailand for many years. Hope this helps...
  9. You can book an appointment at any Toyota dealer for service, labor free if included in your purchase agreement, parts (e.g., oil/filter) are charged unless you negotiated that for free. I bought in BKK and service in PKK. For ease of booking, connect your car to the Toyota mobile application (T-CONNECT), and you can book an appointment on the app throughout Thailand. Everything done at a dealership also goes into their Service DB and the app will also send you reminders to book your next service.
  10. I did this in same conversion (OSS > CW) in 2022. I assume you are on an extension. My official retirement date was 30 June and I was in the middle of a 4 year BOI extension . My employer HR person wrote a post dated termination letter on 22 June with a date in the letter of 30 June. HR sent this letter to our regular corporate visa agent (does extensions and 90 day reports) and they went to OSS on my behalf on June 23 with my PP (I did not have to attend). Agent got both the cancelation stamp dated 30 June and the additional 7 day stamp to leave the country at the same time. That gave me a week to sort out the over 50 (retirement) extension documents. CW allowed a bank letter from previous day, bank book updated same day with activity (e..g., 100THB) showing proof of 800K for two months prior. Suggest you talk to your local HR and agency if you are using OSS and have them help you bulid a timeline and do the conversion. You will have to attend CW. Agent not required, but helpful if CW asks for a document related to your previous working extension not part of the regular retirement requirements. Hope this helps,
  11. Yes, and to purchase the envelope and checkout on the site below, it appears that you need to have an account with Thailand PostMart. Ignore the ID field when setting up your account (not mandatory), it only accepts what appears to be a 13 digit Thai ID number. Once purchased, this vendor sends the envelope directly to the embassy and you include payment confirmation in your packet along with your old passport and other docs / photos. https://www.thailandpostmart.com/member/
  12. It's a waste of time from a prosecutor that is using an unproven no precident and wants to cash in something and write a book, you are not a judge and certainly not a jury, your man bigen sold pqy for play to the Chinese and Russians, relax
  13. So it's opinion? Why does it always show up as a subject in the daily emails and how to opt out? Are the replies from residents of Thailand or anyone around the world?
