Until recently I’ve been doing he Non-O ME 1 year Thai wife online. Recently the online system stopped offering ME 1 year and on asking I was told there is no longer that visa, only 90 days single entry. Does this thread mean that as at March 6th 2024 I can still get the 1 year ME Non-O Thai wife in person in Laos? Just to clarify this is not the OA marriage visa but pukka Non-O so I just have to leave the country every 90 days? And finallly the only additional requirement being the 400k in my Thai bank account? Cheers.

Exactly, and since the announcementI’ve seen 0 Thais in Chiang Mai without masks except when running in the parks. But a few foreigners “liberating themselves” from the tyranny of respecting others.

Yeah you're right Phuket, Phangna, Surat Thani, Prachuap KK, Petburi, Ratchaburi, BKK, Ayuthaya, Nakhon Sawan, Phetchabun, Phrae, Nan, Chaing Mai and wherever else I've forgotten the last couple of months. I must stop living like a hermit.

You must be in some falang holiday Mecca as I've just driven from one end of the country to the other and not seen a single person enter any 7, family mart or other indoor area without wearing a mask. The only people I've seen either maskless or chin masking are tourists.

Not sure how the mask mandate was 'divisive' as I've not met a single Thai who was against the mask mandate and the majority of Thais want to carry on wearing masks so the only people it would seem to be divisive to are the few tourists who didn't want to comply.

That’s pretty tight given that UK testing is pretty s41t. Watch out for the “next day” claims, next day usually means close of business the following day so you could wait 36 hours for a next day result.

Straight after clearing customs they funnel you to the test centre. They process several at a time in parallel. Way more efficiently and cleanly than I’ve experienced in western countries. That, at least was Phuket which is the model for other reopenings.

I hadn’t been back to the UK in years, and opened both Revolut and Monzo fine, you can set your tax residence as a different country. IIRC all I had to do was go through the KYC check which was a video of me holding my passport.
