  1. Maybe the officer felt they/their (whatever) gender changing, so they/their (whatever) had to change clothes to match. ???????????????? Oh, this is not the West we're talking about. ????
  2. But, but, Minister Anutin backs MaryJane. IMHO, MaryJane is MUCH better to let the people have as compared to white whiskey, SangSom, etc. In my experience living for a year in a village, MaryJane, especially when grown at home, would save a poor, broke, no-hope young man from wasting what little money the family has on alcohol or meth. Village life for many of these young men is beyond hopeless really, and they will look for something to ease the hopelessness, whether any of us think they should have it or not. It is hard to watch how many young men die at a relatively young age in the villages due to hopelessness, white whiskey and meth. Let 'em smoke a little MaryJane, relax, do the few menial tasks they may need to do (walk the cows to/from the pasture, for example) and get the world off their shoulders for a while. Has anyone ever seen someone have to be treated in a hospital purely from smoking a little MaryJane. I can't think of any.
  3. Yeah, a fetish sex game. You know the one, where I get to beat you (her) about the head until death occurs. So, yeah, great game! Plant his ass in jail, forever, or at least until he is no longer able to participate in "games".
  4. You gotta love this guy. "based on situations" = based on how I feel when I do it.
  5. LOL! You haven't watched CNN, MSNBC, or most other media for a few years, have you. I am being sarcastic, of course, as were you. Anyway, gave me a good laugh, thanks.
  6. Rant accepted. Many valid points that people, and indeed the people that make up governments, need to consider. I don't like censorship and I didn't see you call for that. Kudos. There are far too many geopolitical unknowns for just about anybody to think they have all or even most of the facts. Racism is always ugly, and for what? I don't even think it makes the instigators happy when they fall in that direction of diatribe. For the rest of your points: A little self-reflection, people? At this moment I'd hate to be either Russian or Ukrainian; it's not like any of the citizens from either was consulted by their governments, anymore than I am by mine.
  7. I don't normally respect calls of "white privilege" and other some other terms that are being bandied about for political purposes back home these days. But if anyone cannot empathize with any people in difficult times, I believe that is the definition of privilege. Perhaps those making fun of other human beings and the conditions they find themselves in should take a minute or two for a bit of self-reflection. My two-cent's worth anyway.
  8. Your comment says essentially the same thing I was trying to get across, and I also appreciate the link to the CDC paper. The difference lies in the words "infected" vs "transmissibility". Vaccinated people are better protected, but transmissibility is not diminished. The virus is in the air we breathe.
  9. Hope it all works out and was a temporary side-effect. Do let us know when you have time. Update: I see above that it worked out ok. Happy to hear it.
  10. Has your wife been vaccinated? If so, she is now protected from serious illness and death. She no longer needs to worry about anyone around her. And if you have also been vaccinated, then you're both good to go. Some of these gals can be right unreasonable with their Farang mates. They won't read scientific data/analysis from other countries any more than they will listen to their husband's advise over the garbage hauler's, and certainly not over the Pu Yi Ban (interesting comparison there: International data on vaccinations, et al, vs Thai government and media. Hmm.). Good luck!
  11. Oh, there is a virus in downtown Bangkok, alright. A virus which at least used to be eradicated every election and then slowly creep back up. But the most recent form of the virus planted another form of itself such that it cannot be eradicated. Now there is no vaccine available unless the citizens roll out their own version. And then there is Covid. Useful to block eradication of the first virus. Quite the strategy, actually: A virus that allows another virus to prosper.
  12. If he and his cronies can keep this up long enough, they can "be elected" again and get some more time at the trough.
  13. We use both AIS and True now, post-pay/monthly. Have used AIS alone and True alone in the past, switching every so often when one runs a deal that outdoes the other. True billing is more confusing and not as easy to pay/keep track of, especially when you have TrueVision (TV), internet and one or more phones. AIS is simple: get the bill, scan it with the Bangkok Bank iBanking app on my phone and pay the bill. I "true-ly" wish True would consolidate their billing systems across their different services and make scanning an option, like AIS.
  14. I wholeheartedly agree. If you can't find your local district health office, ask around at the hospital and find out where the vaccination center is, and then go there at 9 a.m. on a weekday. Go to the registration tables and plead your case. We found in the Roi Et City vaccination center that they have allotments, and they have people that have not shown up, meaning they have extra (Pfizer). We were told to go speak to 2 people: 1 was the allotment manager and she was sitting at her own table next to the doctor that was by all appearances in charge. They were very helpful, answered questions and addressed our concerns, and, if you meet any of the criteria, they will get you into the queue right then. Give it a try and let us all know how it works out for you.
  15. Then the adults should get themselves vaccinated so they don't get the virus, from anyone!
  16. The fact is you may test every kid in your school and they may all "test positive", but the chances of any of them getting seriously ill is very very low, and death rarely happens anywhere in the world. All of the teachers and adults in and around the schools should get vaccinated to protect themselves; the kids not so much. Vaccination does not prevent transmission.
  17. Then the "anti vaxers" are making their own decision about risk of serious illness and possibly death. I believe they should in order to protect themselves, but just because they don't does not mean others around them are more at risk; the vaccinations do not stop transmission in anyone, vaccinated or not. It is true that children may transmit the virus to older people: it is true that anyone may transmit to anyone, for that matter. Vaccination does not protect from transmission or "testing positive"; it only protects from serious illness and possibly death. Children have almost zero chance of becoming seriously ill, so teachers and all adults working in and around schools may want to make sure they themselves are vaccinated. And it may be good preventive medicine to vaccinate the children after all the high risk people (aged and/or existing health problems) get vaccinated, but they should not be getting ahead of the high risk population (at least the ones that want to and are trying to get vaccinated). I have a 15 year old and will do what the government mandates for the schoolkids, but not before. I have had my first Pfizer dose and will get the second one this Friday. My wife is in her mid-40s and in good health, which also means she is in the risk group below aged and/or ill, but we will try to get her a Pfizer jab before our son. And yes, the kids can spread the virus to those at home, and so those at home should absolutely make sure that they themselves are vaccinated at their earliest opportunity.
  18. Point taken. In my case I was referring to items where import duties were the responsibility of the seller. Re-reading the OP I can see that may not have been the case here. You are right to correct me because I normally won't import items where the duties and fees are not known at time of shipment and would be my responsibility.
  19. If you walk through a smoke filled room, will a swab of your nose reveal that you have smoke residue in your nasal passage? Why yes, yes it would. If you are vaccinated against the effects of smoke and you walk through a smoke filled room, will a swab of your nose reveal that you have smoke residue in your nasal passage? Why yes, yes it would. In either scenario, if you sneeze, is it possible that a nearby human will breathe in part of the smoke residue from your nasal passages? Why yes, yes it is possible. Vaccination does not prevent transmission.
  20. There is simply no vaccine that will stop transmission. Vaccination is only useful in preventing serious illness and possible death. In other words, vaccines protect those receiving it against serious illness, and nobody else. So, if young people are not at risk of serious illness or death from Covid-19, but could possibly face life threatening illness from getting the vaccine, that's why not.
  21. I've rejected items in exactly the same way several times when DHL was involved. In ALL cases the item(s) arrived at my door within a few days, no questions asked by the delivery person. You don't threaten them, you simply say "send it back, I don't want it". I've always taken the position that Customs can keep it if they want to, DHL can airfreight it back if they so desire, and there is some risk the vendor won't refund, but there is something fishy going on between Customs and DHL specifically and I won't be held ransom by either of them.
  22. With 200, minimum, secured votes, expect it to continue unabated. IMO, the only way there will be a new PM is if "He that is almost as popular as Biden" and his Cabal say there is going to be a new PM.
