I learnt to drive in a MG Midget. Great little car from the days when UK cars really were British.

An empty threat from the VN government.

Thailand has ordered 20 million Oxford covid vaccines and Astra Zeneca will set up a manufacturing facility.
If, as expected following peer review, this vaccine is confirmed as safe and effective, then tourism will start to return to normal from the summer of 2021.

Why do they never talk about an air corridor with Vietnam? Since the Da Nang outbreak Vietnam has now gone 30 days covid free.

Do not use a Vietnamese bank if you are planning to send money out of the country. Many have restrictions on how much you can send.
It is better to open an account with
HSBC or ANZ. You will need to show them your employment contract.

The only people complaining are Remainers. <deleted>. Boris has the EU rattled.

Thailand is not on the list. I wonder why.

Really?
That's interesting considering that Russia was an ally of North Vietnam whose SAMs blew numerous US aircraft out of the sky in the Vietnam War.
I doubt very much whether the Vietnamese are fussed on the issue of vaccines-or their providence-unlike the lunatics in the West
Clearly you do not understand today's Vietnam. The younger generations are into US/UK music and films, Kpop and Japanese food. They don't care about
Russia. They do rightly or wrongly believe that America is the land of the free and opportunity.

Do you have a link to a survey of a representative sample of Vietnamese citizens to make this statement or is this just trying to fit in with the prevailing TV hyperbole.....?
Yesterday and this morning I must have spoken with about 20 Vietnamese. Most do not trust the Russian vaccine but agree that in rural areas many people will use it as instructed by their government.

There are articles in the Vietnamese media reporting today that this Russian vaccine still needs to be tested for safety.
Many Vietnamese would prefer an American or European vaccine because they know it will have been fully tested.
However, in a poor country like Vietnam many people will not be given a choice and will follow their governments' instructions.

Maybe instead of putting the profits from the 37usd a day Angkor Wat entry fees into his Swiss bank account, he should personally pay for a vaccine dose for every poor person in Cambodia.

The UK govt cannot win. In March they were accused of being too slow, now the media says they are too fast. Also, how do you quarantine the 600,000 UK tourists currently in Spain?
Germany and France could be next on the quarantine list.

Whether or not lockdown had started a week earlier would had made little difference as this was too late.
The mid term school holidays in February was the period when the virus was brought into the UK enmasse. It was not realised at the time that the ski slopes of Austria and Italy were the breeding grounds for the virus.

600m bhat is not enough to buy vaccines for all of the adult population. Is this only for the rich and elite?
Maybe the poor will get a Chinese vaccine.

Astra Zeneca expect to be producing the Oxford vaccine in huge numbers by October. Let's hope their confidence is justified.

Two countries not on the travel bubble list are Vietnam and Taiwan. There haven't been any covid in the community cases in Vietnam for 78 days. Maybe the Thais do not want to upset their Chinese friends.

Why do European politicians say it is not in the UK's interest to have a No Deal? The fact is that it is in everyones interest to have a deal. The EU will be just as badly affected if there is no agreement.

Dr Kluge is probably giving some cautious advice, whilst the Guardian being an anti UK government newspaper is putting an exaggerated spin on what he has actually said.

Vietnam will be August at the earliest.

The only countries in eastern Asia with no virus cases for the last month are Taiwan and Vietnam. Vietnam has little interest in opening its airports to Thai tourists.

The article does not breakdown the data by age group. I would not be surprised to find that the older age groups are a lot less worried than those in the 15 to 30 age group.

The time is soon coming when the US and UK remove legal support for Hong Kong's international trade in finance.

Maybe the reason is faulty testing. There does seem to be problems with finding a reliable test.
Western Governments will they send Vaccine to Embassies for Distribution
in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Posted
The Thai government announced in November that they have signed a deal with AstraZeneca to receive 23 million doses of the Oxford vaccine. There will also be a transfer of technology for this vaccine to be produced in Thailand. Planned distribution is May 2021.
With regards to expats the likely solution is to get vaccinated at a private hospital.
