I think it's more a matter of her not being sensitive enough to know just how difficult the situation is for people. Had she humbly acknowledged how lucky and privileged she is to be surrounded by so much beauty, luxury and security when other are suffering so much, she still could have turned it into a joke that wouldn't have outraged many people instead of it sounding more like another one of the very privileged who always wants more.

R.I.P. John Prine. You've left behind quite a legacy.
Yes, I'm very sad to hear about the passing of John Prine, especially as Covid-19 complications took him from the world before his time. I was fortunate enough to see him perform several times -- often the free open-air concerts on summer evenings at Ontario Place. His music always hit the right notes with me, whether listening to the poignant message of Sam Stone or the funny, uplifting lyrics of Dear Abby. I'll have a drink and strum a couple of his tunes of the guitar tonight in fond memory of the man who Rolling Stone magazine appropriately proclaimed in 2017 to be "The Mark Twain of American song writing". That's quite a distinctive honor and one that's truly fitting. He'll be missed by many fans.

Great to hear other suggestions. I forget to mention that I am using Chrome, and some browsers may work better with other solutions. I suspect there are several approaches with any of them.

All they need to do is look at this thread, and I'm sure they will eventually find a plethora of opinions about it -- many snide and unkind ones, I'm sure.

Well, arn't you the clever one. Hacker school 101. Thanks mate.
Could you give us a clue for the constant video add on the right side of the forum page.
Now that is a nightmere.
No problem. Glad that it helps somebody else. Not sure about the videos. Maybe the same method? Let's just say that my pages run very clean.

Not anymore! Gone! And I'd appreciate it if all animated avatar users would post here so I can easy find and destroy your avatar (on my screen, anyway). ????
And let's make it clear that these were "little pet peeves" -- nothing that "upset" me. What's with the over-reactions? I really tried to make that clear, but I know reading skills are NOT high here with all the 2nd-language speakers.

I think many of us at this time are more concerned about other issues. I will trade you problem with mine any time
I'm sorry to hear you are suffering some serious problems at this time. I believe the whole world is suffering quite a bit. I made it VERY clear that this was VERY minor thing, and I was offering a helpful suggestion about something -- not complaining, but you seem to be the worst type of forum contributor -- cruising around looking for opportunities too be critical. SHAME ON YOU!!! We don't need people to make us feel worse these days.
I too am concerned about things and have both read and contributed to the covid-19 posts here and elsewhere, but you know what? NOT ever post has to be about the novel coronavirus situation, and as as far as your personal troubles go, why should my post about something else beside what concerns you cause such outrage to criticize me?
AMAZING!!!!

One of the only things I like about Saudi Arabia is their laws concerning Drugs...
If you get caught trafficking drugs in Saudi Arabia, it is an Automatic Death Sentence..
If that is not a helluva deterrent, then what is?
I can't agree with you in principle, and that's especially true as they consider selling cannabis, which has proven to be a safe and even beneficial substance, as a death-squad offense. That's NOT sane!! That's extremely draconian, and there's no place left in a reasonable world for that kind of ridiculously rigid thinking.

Wow, does my geography suck!!! Here I was sure that Nigeria was part of Africa. ????
As for the rest of your post, I really think the lack of response is just a lack of interest and nothing racial. I think most people see drug smugglers as scum, regardless of where they come from. And let's make it clear that I'm talking about drugs -- not cannabis.

I have a little pet peeve with animated avatars. I don't like their frames constantly cycling through at the side of the page while I'm reading. It's a very small thing but always a little annoying. There are also a handful of just plain ugly/disturbing avatars with very unpleasant-looking or deranged-looking subjects. It occurred to me today that these are simply elements on the page, and I think I've found a way they can be blocked. Put your cursor on them, and right-click. Then choose "block element". After that, you should not have to see them again.

Unbelievable and shameful action by Australia's legal system. Pell, the stinking piece of human garbage, is free to leave prison. but he'll always know and have to live with his horrible sins, even if he's incapable of true remorse. Australia just dropped a little lower on the World Humanity Scale.

I'll second the logic that ALL economies are suffering the same basic slowdowns, so since everybody's in the same boat currency values wouldn't change much.

Not true at all, there is tons of traffic on the road. i drove by the beaches and there were 100 people jogging. The government is trying to control people, but they don't care they are drunk and stoned.
Really, now you're claiming that the Canada gov't is drunk and stoned? Even if you've just poorly stated that everybody in Canada is drunk and stoned, I don't think people are going to believe you, anyway. I don't know the crowd you associate with, but to me It's just such a ludicrous thing to say.
People are jogging, and you feel that will contribute to the spread of Covid-19? I guess if they were jogging as a tight group, that would do it, but I'd bet very big money that they were keeping at least the 2-meters apart rule that virtually everybody I've seen carefully follows. We have been encouraged here to get outside and get some exercise as the logic seems clear that if doing it in accordance with the distancing rules, it doesn't add to any danger of spreading the problem, and exercise is good for your immunity system.
Now, let's get to the traffic. You do realize that cars don't spread viruses, right? I can imagine that cabin fever has set in with some people, and they'd just like to go for a drive to break the boredom. So, they get into their car, cruise around for a while then go back to their house -- use up some of that cheap petrol. How have they contributed to the spread? As far as most traffic, almost all non-essential businesses have been ordered closed in Toronto (TO) and all of Ontario, but people still have to get groceries and function at least at a survival level, and they'll logically drive to stores to get what's needed. We've been asked to minimize our outing, but there are always going to be people who will push the rules a bit.
Life still has to function to some degree, and let's just all hope that the peak of this is seen soon -- perhaps within a week or two as many experts are projecting. There are still many unknowns with this novel virus, and I can understand strong concerns. I have them too, but we have to be realistic about how much we can and can't do. If things don't peak and level off within a week or two, then I think we'll see stronger actions and everyone wearing some form of mask when in public.

Giving her a big fine may have some effect in setting an example to create a deterrent for others, but if you really want to punish this very inconsiderate person and put the fear of similar punishment into the hearts of Thais, publish her picture, name, and address, explaining that her selfish actions have endangered innocent people. The huge loss of face would be more effective than a 100,000 baht fine, and why not hit her with that, too.

Canada is out of control. Nobody is wearing masks, people are just roaming around in TO. Warm weather is coming it will be a disaster. Cases are double , hospitals will soon be overwhelmed. I donno know but Thailand is probably better place to be.
Where are you in Canada? I wouldn't say it's out of control here. It's true that people generally aren't wearing masks, but social distancing, closures, and other precautions are clearly in place. I went to the LCBO yesterday to get my mother some wine, and they were only allowing 5 people at a time into the very large store. As far as masks go, why would I put one on if I'm just going outside for a walk and not interacting with anyone? If I run into one of my neighbors who is also out for a walk, we can very easily keep a safe distance away from each other and chat.
But I think we'll see more of us wearing at least a cloth one while shopping or in public as we're now being told, logically, that it can help reduce the spread. Besides that, if Trump refuses to wear one, doing the opposite must be a good thing. ????
At least you've been honest enough to admit at the end of your post that you actually "donno".

Try and keep up...
Here's a key quote from that article:
On Thursday, the Trump administration invoked the Defense Production Act to demand more N95 respirators from 3M, and the White House has cited concerns that not enough of 3M’s global production is coming back to the U.S. In a tweet Thursday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump said the White House “hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks” and said the company “will have a big price to pay!”
And here I am foolishly thinking that that in "The Land of the Free", a company is protected by laws and the constitution to conduct business freely and legally, exporting to any country not being sanctioned. But as usual, Trump has no regard for the constitution where it doesn't serve his needs, and he publicly threatens 3M with "a big price to pay", obviously indicating that they will not be treated in a fair and lawful way unless they do exactly what Trump says.

Trump has never hidden his true colors. It has always been an unappealing shade of brown that's related to a very bad odor and floats in a toilet.
It was so typical to see him throw his son-in-law under the bus the other day when asked in a press conference about the federal gov't's purchase of millions of masks by young Jared Kushner. He offered no explanation and in an angry manner told the reporter to ask his son-in-law directly about a comment saying the masks were only for federal use and will not go to the various states. The reporter was legitimately trying to get Trump to describe the difference between the federal gov't and the United STATES of America. Of course, the poor woman asking the question was treated rudely and any answer deflected (because as usual, Trump had verbally backed himself into one of those corners where he just ignores the question and starts rambling on about what a wonderful job he's doing).
I can only hope that millions of the Americans who put that stinky pile of brown stuff into the White House have finally come to their senses to see what an a-hole he truly is.

Good to see they've assessed and addressed the situation quickly and were able to open again within a day. Hopefully, most if not all who needed or wanted to leave are already back in Canada hoping that Trudeau and its citizens can keep the US situation south of the 49th parallel.

As there's really nothing happening apart from people and businesses being able to do nothing but hide from the Virus, I'm sure I've read enough of these redundant articles about nothing happening.
I say that with sympathy for and no disrespect to the people who wrote this. It's got to be tough trying to make one's way in the news game these days when the ONLY stories in the world are related to Covid-19 and the people who are most affected by it. Aren't we all sick and tired of 99% of news being dominated by this pandemic? And I'm sure we'll all be glad to go through the sports, business or national news sections of our favorite news sources with some form of normalcy again.
The only Covid-19 news I want to see from now on is good news about it leveling off and eventually being tamed. The rest is just plain depressing. Of course one has to stay aware of the latest developments, but that's ALL I'm tuning into from now on.

No, that was all. I also looked it up and couldn't find anything. I have a free version and have to wonder if Avast is just pulling some names out of the air to scare people into getting a paid version.

I think we have to remember that this covid-19 situation is psychologically VERY difficult for many people, and these popular personalities must be particularly careful about what they say. These are not normal times, by any means, and I think we should accept that over-the-top comments are going to be made, and we can forgive people for that, considering that almost no people on the planet have never known anything like this.
For me, my involvement in this thread really has nothing to do with ED but more with some light being shed on the unusual social situation we're in these days, and the effects it has on people.
