  1. Do you still need the yellow vaccination pass to enter/leave Thailand or has that been scrapped!
  2. Thanks for the tip, I might try that!
  3. Hi, my two cents is that I bought an office chair from lazada for 1,600 and it was total garbage (the arms fell off, it creaked, wouldn't recline, the covering ripped). but then I went to that office shop B2S and found a much better quality one for 3,200 reduced from 8,300. Much better quality and they have a whole range of chairs to choose from with free delivery. I definitely recommend going to test a chair first instead of ordering online (but that's just my experience).
  4. Thanks for the replies guy, I contacted MedPark Cheers
  5. Hi guys, thanks for the replies and confirming they are closed 13-15. I hope they are open as normal on Monday/Tuesday and not doing anything daft like shutting for the entire week ???? Odds are, I rock up there on Monday morning and they are shut! Cheers
  6. Hi, does anyone know when the Samut Prakarn immigration office is open/closed over the coming week? I checked out the website http://www.samutprakanimmigration.go.th/ but there's no calendar about days/holidays? Many thanks if anyone knows
  7. Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm trying to find a covid 19 vaccine for my son who is 13 years old. I've tried searching on google and visiting a number of hospitals (to pay) but was told they are only giving them to adults (18+). I found a few ads for hospitals claiming to offer Moderna shots for 1,800b but when I phoned them, they said they are out. Just wondering if anyone on here knows - I'm in Samut Prakarn but can travel anywhere in Bangkok Many thanks for any help
  8. You can also do the 90-day report online or via the app if you don't want to go to immigration.
  9. loud bikes are the bane of my existence in thailand - absolute stupidity - BUT - just think...if battery electric bikes go mainstream it's going to be silent death - at least now you can hear them coming.
  10. Hi all, I have a family member coming to visit from the UK and most of the requirements are clear about going from the airport to an approved hotel for 1 night, having the test etc. But he said he needs another PCR test a few days into his stay - can anyone advice where he should go and how much it costs etc? For example, is it at a hospital? Clinic? Or are there home testing kits? I'm a bit confused. Many thanks for anyone who reads this and takes the time to apply
  11. You can buy XRP on Paypal - it's hardly like "they" are making it difficult for people to buy into ????
  12. My advice to the OP is that instead of buying land (for your wife) and building a home, look around on the second hand property market. PLENTY of people desperate to sell right now and would crawl over broken glass to get an offer. You sound like you haven't bought a place here before, well trust me, many people who have bought feel trapped and find it really difficult to sell (as Thais don't like second hand homes). In case you hadn't noticed, the economy is shot right now and you won't have any problems getting a deal.
  13. Hi all, Is there anyone on this forum with an Oculus Quest 2 who has got the latest V34 software update? I just bought a new game - Blade and Sorcery and it won't work as I only have v 33 - then when I checked it just says no update available. I just asked Oculus support and they said: "Regards to your query, please ensure you are connected to a strong, stable WIFI network, and not a hotspot or captive portal, and try leaving the headset plugged and connected to WIFI to see if any update available. This is normal that you have not received the latest update yet, Some users get the update later than other users. So I just wondered if anyone else had it yet? I figure it has something to do with being in Thailand where oculus isn't supported. Thanks
  14. At least you can wear a pro-vax T-shirt in LOS and not incur the wrath of anti-vaxxers! Vanity Fair is running an article that some in the US are getting COVID shots in disguise because they're so worried https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/07/missouri-covid-anti-vaxxers
  15. Hey, I noticed that the original poster specifically wanted advice about the mobile app (not internet banking) when changing phones. I've only ever used Bangkok Bank and I have only installed it on a mobile phone that has the same SIM as the one registered with the bank. I think that you could install on a different device provided you have the registered number SIM working to receive the one time password (OTP).
  16. Hi, I don't expect any member of the consular team will read this forum much less respond, but they could be in the same boat as every other British expat (i.e. having to wait for a jab from the Thai government). Here's why: in Belgium, the UK is vaccinating diplomatic staff but not British diplomatic personnel working on local contracts. https://www.politico.eu/article/coronavirus-vaccine-uk-belgium-deal-nato-eu-mission-brussels/ So, it's very likely the same in Thailand: UK citizens working on the consular team probably won't get vaccinated either. I found this interesting blog where a spokesman for the DOE issued a statement to a national newspaper: https://www.william-russell.com/blog/getting-a-covid-vaccine-as-an-expat/
