Why are you even bothering to ask this question?

Baht has been much the same for donkeys years.
How many years is donkey's years? If donkeys live for 20 years, you're wrong.

So after all these years, it's only now that it "does not make sense"? Horse had bolted mate.

The Beatles? the young generation are not good enough o appreciate the Beatles music and others like them, if its not on social media, politically correct or burning, looting and lynching people to make a point, the Beatles might as well happen a 1000 yeas ago... someone once said that the youth is wasted on the you young, and oh boy this is so right...
Wow that's a lot of people to put in the same pot, and I can assure you that you are very, very wrong. Do you do much besides watch the 6 o'clock news?

When I was going to high school in the 80s, for me and my friends it was mostly metal. Except for one mate, he listened to Beatles, and nothing but Beatles, dressed like them, the whole bit. Used to cop a good bit of flack from us for it. About 15 years ago, I started listening to their last 7 albums. There earlier pop stuff was big in it's time, but for me the latter part of their career the music was way, way ahead of it's time. Absolute genius.

Says a lot when the fools in charge see a vaccine as primarily a making money activity. I suppose all the
juntapoliticians are now dreaming of their own 18 Rolexes. -

Or maybe young, poor, scared, mental health issues, not too smart, homeless, etc, or any combination of these.

There are simply too many other nations to compete for the tourist dollar, and most are doing a better job. The Chinese will return, but I suspect the numbers will be far lower than before. You know what they say about putting all of your eggs in one basket? Thailand had been warned of the dangers of becoming too dependent on China for years. Now, after you have made your bed, you get to sleep in it. You have alienated all tourists but Indians and Chinese.
And as for the Western tourists? Not gonna happen either. Why? Quality Western tourists are declining here, in a big way, for a dozen very good reasons. You insulted us. You demeaned us. You accused us of being evil, and you accused us of being criminals. You mounted campaigns touting us as bad for the nation. You demonstrated deplorable amounts of racism and xenophobia, and fear of the outside world. Some of your officials even went as far as saying we prefer to have tourists that look more like us! And now you want us to come back? Really? How soon you forget. Sorry, but we have not forgotten what was done and said. Neither have the Chinese forgotten their ban. Not saying it was not the right thing to do. But, that does not necessarily make it less offensive to them.
What alot of tourists worldwide have forgotten is the nation named Thailand. There are too many alternatives now, and they are not only trying harder, they actually have competent people in charge! Surprise!
Chinese will come back in droves, as that's where the volume and dollars are. White people will come back, tourists do not see a lot of the drama that expats have to put up with to stay here, and are unaware of the xenophobia. Relying on the "government" to make sensible decisions based on logic, health and security instead of money is delusional at best. A lot of eggs will go back into one basket, the powers that be will ensure it is a bigger basket.

Well, I think I was very fortunate. Her family are hard working, honest and really good folks. We count on them alot to help us with our orchard, and they are always there for us. They are self supporting, and generous on many levels. But, as I said, I took a long time to get to know my wife, and her family, so I knew what I was getting into. And I realize she was alot more patient than most women here. But, the bottom line is there are plenty of good women here, so if she is not willing to wait long enough for you to get to know her, and develop a comfort level, better to either walk away, or show her the door. Doors can be very useful instruments.
Same here. My wife and her family are hard workers. Farming, breeding fish, contract tractor work, and run a small shop. They've never asked us for anything, and treated me well always, and also my family when they came to Thailand for the wedding. Now back in Australia, the only time my wife complains is when there is no work to do, she gets bored, so onto the tablet for a Thai TV show. She starts a job here next week, hope she likes it!

2 years. Met her when I was up north trying to track down an old mate. She was divorced, one daughter. I was 48, she was 33. Our first weekend away together was to the Anzac Day commemoration in Kanchanburi. Been married for a year now and living in Australia, happy days.

We saw it all the time in Saudi Arabia too. Women sitting in the front with babies standing on their laps holding the dashboard and looking out. We used to call the kids Saudi air bags.
R.I.P. Little one, unfortunately you were in the hands of a couple of idiots.
I think Saudi is Thailand's main competition in the car crash stakes if I remember correctly.

So in one story we have a proposal to increase fees to improve the tourist experience, and in the next story we have two morons driving high powered boats into an easily avoidable high speed collision that killed two child tourists. Right.....

Diggers are big but quite slow.
Wheeled diggers that are commonly used in paved city areas are not so slow.

I would imagine that the easiest way to perform "suicide by cop" would be to pull a gun on a cop, not on a two year old. Still not adding up for me.

Something about a gate, a horse and a bolt comes to mind. Thailand's tourism industry doomed if the government doesn't embrace anti corruption across all levels as a first step.

"kicking out all the old farangs will not improve our score".
What a totally, stupid, stupid, arrogant and worthless remark.
Let me tell you something sunshine, I'm an old guy and I drive a car and ride a motorbike here in Thailand and have done so for 15 years.. I also work and don't sit on my fat butt every day swilling beer and drooling over a beer gut, wearing wife beater T-shirt and trying to pretend I'm 40 years younger - while wishing I could get a hard-on for a change and be a stud every day for every tight-pussie-in boots BG that passes and stinking of BO and fag ash - loud mouthing my exploits in Special Forces or the SAS and sexual conquests.
I personally, am extremely fit and suggest to you, Oh wondrous Adonis of the world - I probably have more patience, knowledge of defensive driving skills, driving experience and less aggression in my personality on Thai roads, than you have lifting your finger to pick your nose.
In short, I am no different to many of my TV colleagues on this forum who view your immature and vindictive comment as utter trash...……………………...
Go back to your beer , cheap flip flops and baggy pants and fantasise what it means to actually drive properly in this country - and look closely at your silly, silly, comment, "our score".
Delusions of grandeur!
There endeth the lesson!
Wow, someone forgot to take their pills. I think you may have misinterpreted his " kicking out the old farangs" remark.

Might as well catch that bloke who shot the two year old kid in the gold shop while you are firing on all cylinders.

Yes. Showing up with a half million baht block of gold melted in your backyard with a few leaves and twigs in it wouldn't raise any eyebrows whatsoever.
US$16,500 block of gold, 11 ounces, not unusally big.

I would be very surprised if the TV investigators do not crack the case before Sanook!
Well, the TV investigators will probably do a better job than Sanook and the police, and more transparently too.
