I know Nong Khai hospital well as an ex patient and many of the wifes family being patients as well, its a basic government hospital, most specific illness gets sent to Udon Thani, no surprise they don't have a Corona testing kit.

If it's anything like the online visa application process in the UK there will be hardly anyone getting a visa.

Happens a lot in Pattaya as well, sign says turn left at waiting light, which everybody does, sometimes there's a cop lurking around the corner waiting to pounce on the confused foreigner who has to pay up of course, but Hey Ho, Pattaya cops have their own set of laws.

Roojai won't insure drivers over 70 years old, even if you get your younger wife to insure your car you will not be insured in case of an accident

Depends on the DLT you apply for renewal, some accept the yellow book some want a res cert or a 90 day report, you need to go to the one you will use, Thailand, land of inconsistency.

Funny after a motorbike accident my friend had to pay 20,000 cash to be admitted then use credit card for surgery.
Me too, cash up front before any kind of treatment, although the compulsory insurance that you need payed out later.

But it seems many of the people who leave somehow think that in all new destinations all will be better.
Maybe it's easier to get a long term visa or residency in country x y or z. But how about all the rest?
How about the language? Would you i.e. move to Cambodia without knowing the language? Sure, it's possible to learn it. But that takes time. And I am sure there are lots of things different over there. Or do you think English is good enough to communicate with the locals?
And similar in other countries. It's easy to say: I will move to somewhere else. But how easy is it to live happy in another country which some of those people who want to move possibly never visited before?
I know, Thailand is not perfect. But I am irritated when lots of people seem to thing all will be so much nicer in this new country - which they basically don't know.
Or how many of you have detailed knowledge, experience, and possibly contacts in your new destination?
What about the over 65,s + on a yearly retirement extension that one day may have to have compulsory insurance and cannot get cover as no insurance company will offer it at any price. They will be forced out, no choice have they. Maybe go home or to a nearby more foreigner friendly countries. I'm sure they will appreciate the money it costs just to live there.

It's not bad at the moment if I can see koh Lan clearly from my condo balcony as of the last 3days, a week ago I couldn't which corresponds with the bad air in Bangkok. The worst time is yet to come January and February

My Cambodian g/f was told in Phnom Penh she will not get another tourist visa and no reason given. She has been coming to Thailand 3Times a year 8years on tourist visas, but she can do as many back to back visa runs as needed, a real pain as she only gets 14day exempt stamp. Guess they'll stopping that next.

My Cambodian g/f is in Phnom Penh now and has been told by the travel agent she usually uses that the Thai embassy is no longer issuing 2month tourist visa. She has always been issued one for the last 10year's, coming to Thailand about 3times per year. Anyone else had this problem.?

Legally you are only supposed to be able to bring in 1L of alcohol and last time I checked there is no option to declare extra and pay the duty..........which would be about 300%.
If caught they could confiscate and or levy a big fine.
On the other hand you could get away with it........
My g/f used to bring in about 6 bottles of wine and a 3 litre box from Cambodia at hat lek border, never got stopped apart from one time when she had 2boxes, the customs person looked in her bag and said only one box, and just took the box, that was it.

No, I've never been asked in 25 years.Greetings
I hold a non immigrant o visa - as I plan to convert this entry visa into a retirement visa, in the next 30 days. Tomorrow I will fly back into Swampy on my "O" type visa, and carrying plenty of cash with me. My question is do I need to show an outward bound airline ticket If I'm arriving on this type of visa ?? I'd really appreciate a quick answer as I'm travelling in the morning and I'll have to buy one quickly if it is really needed !!
Thanks in advance

Anyone know if you have to make an appointment to renew your driving license at the main DLT in Chonburi city, not the one in Pattaya. Thanks.
