  1. I have a work permit and bring in over 40k a month. Would a statement for the last year and my work permit suffice for a multi-O?
  2. Took a flight to a nearby country and spent a few days there. Upon my return at Suvarnabhumi the IO asked why I hadn't done an extension and then what my 'O' visa is based on (marriage). I also presented my work permit, and after asking something to the IO at the adjacent counter I was given the 90 day stamp. Is this considered abusing the system in any way? Why is this type of visa offered if it's considered a problem? EDIT: Just to be clear, I have a Non-immigrant Multiple Entry 'O' Visa valid for one year.
  3. I've found forms which say Vientiane and Savannakhet. Is it important to use a specific form? I am planning to cross and the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge #3 into Thakhek but haven't seen a printable form online for this particular crossing. I'd like to have it done ahead of time.
  4. You've helped me and so many others. We have lost an invaluable member of the community. Thanks for everything, Joe. RIP
  5. Have you considered learning bash or powershell? I'm doing a lot of copy and pasting of files and folders for my work as well. Some simple commands have saved me loads of time.
  6. I couldn’t find any info on this either. Do they have busses or vans at the airport that go to Mukdahan?
  7. Flights to Savannakhet are an absurd ~20k THB roundtrip around the time my visa expires. I don't mind taking the night bus, but flying to Nakhon Phanom is only an hour or so, and from Thakhek to Savannakhet it should only take 2 hours driving. My issue: I can't find much info on transportation between the two cities though. Anyone have details on taxis, buses, etc.? Is this idea more hassle than it's worth? Thanks in advance.
  8. No issues. Runs better than Windows 10 on my desktop and laptop.
  9. My bad the way it was written I assumed it was just for checking service availability. Thanks for the info. I will give this a go.
  10. Can you provide some detail on the registration process? Was it difficult?
  11. My visa would be based on marriage. In that case would I have to cancel my work permit regardless?
  12. Does it remain valid? Also, is it possible to keep a work permit valid for one year on a Non Immi Multi 'O'?
  13. This was Chaeng Wattana where they usually follow the officially published rules, and it looks to me I wasn't the only one being asked for the TM30.
  14. Nope. They glanced at my passport, gave me a queue and sent me on my way.
  15. I'm starting to wonder if they're changing things again. There was an animation playing on the TVs in the TM90 area on repeat. It showed a property manager who decided not to file the TM30 and the foreigners she rented to bombed some house.. the police had trouble locating them because she failed to do so. A different officer also asked another to show their TM30 and I saw a couple frustrated because they didn't have something but I couldn't make out what.
  16. I'm on a non-immigrant O visa. Came back in with a re-entry permit roughly 90 days ago. If that's the case why did the officer ask about it? I haven't changed my place of residence in years.
  17. I'm very confused regarding the TM30 report. 3 years ago I had to pay a fine during my visa extension for not having one done. Since then it hasn't been mentioned or asked about during my trips to immigration. Are they just trying to enforce it now that COVID regulations have eased? Is it required every time I return home from staying somewhere else?
  18. For me the advantage is not having to mess with getting a SIM card. I also don't have to inform family and friends of a new # as I already have one with Google Voice. There are a few prepaid providers offering eSIMs within the US now. Everything is setup through their app. Maybe there's a UK provider or two offering something similar? With these country specific providers, or at least in the US, they also provide a local # for calling and texts.
  19. If your phone supports eSIM, download Airalo. No need to swap SIMs just make sure you set your phone to use cellular data through the Aussie "sim".
  20. School is now in session and I'd rather not pull my kids out at the very start of the term.
