  1. Good to see I am not the only one.

In the worst case I would (hotels in Bangkok are still open for normal stays)? have to stay in BKK until travel is possible again.

So far there seems to be no process, I would be fine for any kind of staff to accompany me from the ASQ to the gate heading for CNX for a fee, so they make sure I do not come from "infected Bangkok".

  2. Does anyone know whether we have the opportunity to travel after ASQ immediately from the ASQ to Chiang Mai without doing quarantine there again?

I am due to arrive in March and complete my ASQ mid/end March. Assuming the rules as they are now, I expect, even if take a taxi right from the ASQ to the airport, coming from the Bangkok high-risk area, I have to quarantine in Chiang Mai again.

Surely I am not the only one in that situation. I am sure there are other people doing ASQ now with these new rules who need to get back somewhere to other provinces.

Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 while not presenting symptoms should demand a second test.

There is a possibility of a false positive; 0.8 to 4% - according to the Lancet) and possibly higher according to ‘other’ sources.

The ‘insurance’ issue is good to know about. Anyone going into quarantine needs to receive in writing confirmation that any hospitalisation based on test results will be covered by there insurance - thats the whole objective of having the insurance which covers Covid-19.

Not sure whether you can "demand" a second test.

They will make their decision. Not you.

  4. I appreciate that at least it is possible to enter Thailand now. Also it is nice that it seems to be possible the get the COE without much hassle (like one day before leaving at the embassy in person) and that we can book our own flight.

But 90 days is just not enough for the remaining hassle, so I will wait.

Is is possible to convert that tourist visa into another visa without leaving the country?

  5. From the Elite website, which I also used to apply, I still see them offering 6 months extra until the end of the year - so the offer was extended instead of running out end of September.

Whatever the reason is, they write I would only get 3 months on top, it is a joke to increase the price by 20% next year urging people to quickly order something they cannot even use now.

I really feel sorry for the people who already paid.

Could it be a discrepancy where one person talked to TPC directly and some who got a different story were talking to an agent who is not yet up to date. Or the other way around ?!

The official TPC website is thailandelite.com .com without any hyphen. They also sell directly.

There are a myriad of other similar looking websites that are sales agents. The discrepancies about upcoming pricing changes may well be innocent. Just a matter of them all getting the memo.

E-mail (approval Immigration) by Sales Team thailandelite.com sent me that. So I am not sure whether the agents get e-mail addresses with that domain or not. I applied via the official website. Like I said, please call them and ask about the price for next year. Then we know whether it is official or they tell different stories to different people.

I am not interested in paying 500k so I cannot enter the country.

The money is dormant on my Thai bank account, because I prepared it two months ago, foolishly assuming I could go back home.

I am grateful the approval took them so long - otherwise I might have bought it in a rush like others.

  8. If you got caught in Thailand, Elite card seems to be ok, you even got 6 months extra.

For those outside of Thailand: I am shocked and grateful it took them so long. I applied on August 4th, "Immigration background check" is still running and I have not heard back from them. I am not from a dodgy country that it should take so long. Their offer of 6 months extra seems to have expired now.

I am grateful it took so long. I will not pay if I even ever hear back from them. What a scam to say it in one word. People like me wanted to buy this card to come back but it seems an impossible task to get back into the country. Two months have passed since I applied and I have not heard or read of any new member who successfully returned.

  9. I contacted the long-stay company 5 days ago with general questions - did not get a reply.

Tried to contact the embassy in my home country on Oct 1st. Phone was disabled and e-mails have not been answered yet.

I guess they are overworked because of all the stuff they are usually not doing (COE, repatriation etc.). I also promised myself to wait and see if others actually manage to get this visa - so far it seems to be all very mysterious.
