  1. I have the 400k baht in my bank ready so could do it as soon as I get back to Chiang Mai, which is where I would apply for the marriage visa. I thought the Non-O option was exclusive to Savanakhet if I have to go down that route?
  2. Thanks for the info and very understandable with the civil war going on there. I could make a new topic but how about a border run to Chiang Khong instead?
  3. I have to leave by November 21st. I should have the funds in my bank account within 2 weeks.
  4. I should have mentioned I am already on a 60 day extension to my marriage visa. Is it still possible for me to obtain a TM87 and apply for a Non O or am I forced to leave the country either way? My immigration office is CM.
  5. Bumping an old topic but if I was able to leave the country and come back on a visa exempt and before that expired I had 400k baht in the bank for 60 days, would that fulfill the requirements for getting a new 12 month marriage visa?
  6. Quick guestion guys - when applying for an extension of stay based on marriage, is there a time limit or can it be done anytime before your visa expires? Also on a side note, can this extension be applied for at Central Festival Chiang Mai or would one need to go to the aiport location? TIA!
  7. I haven't used the 60 day extension - was not aware of it until I made this topic and very happy to find out about it. ???? I could potentially have the 400k today but it would involve selling company shares at a time I would prefer to hold onto them. Ideally do not want to start the process over again but not the end of the world if I end up needing to do it.
  8. This sounds like an excellent option! Do you know what the visa currently costs? And would I have to go through all the proof of marriage steps again after this? I assume not.
  9. This was my original idea before making this topic. I am aware of having to start the marriage visa process again and would have put up with it.
  10. Hey guys, I've been living with my wife for a few years here on a marriage visa but I may not be able to get the 400,000 baht required for the renewal in time. Is it a good option to get a tourist visa and then apply for a marriage visa later when I have the funds available? Or is it risky that I could be denied? Cheers, Chesterpot
  11. Hello, I just had my marriage visa approved today. I am hoping to qualify for it next year by sending over the minimum 40k baht per month from outside Thailand. However, I saw that if I go down this route then I need a letter from my embassy. However, the source of my income is not in my home country. Does this mean I cannot qualify? Also, if I can get my visa this way, do I just need to receive money every calendar month or how does it work? Kind regards, Chesterpot
