You are not a Thai resident. You don't have to pay tax. I do  have rental incomes from USA and transfer them here in to Thailand every month and I don't pay taxes.

They will not allow anyone not just Westerners unless Pandemic is under control worldwide. People are still dying around the world. 

Some people with no common sense love to criticize Thai government because of strict measurements they have. These people are just ignorants or selfish ! Thailand have no domestic infections last 65 days and this is because of these strict measurements. 

People who criticize everything and anything have to turn around and look at their own countries and bitch their own governments why their people are still dying. Are Thais bitching you about your country or government? You are just a guests here in Thailand by Thai people's permission so act like a guest or you can go back to your civilized countries so you don't bitch about anything and everything if possible, no one is forcing you to live here. Just think how you feel or what you do in your own countries when immigrants are living and bitching about everything and anything about you own homeland and own government. I hate these kind of people they think they are better than Thais or their government better than Thai government.  If you know how to implant regulations or laws that will make you happier then go into politics and do it in your own country, don't interfere with Thais how they should run their own country since you are a guest here. Which is most foreigners have to live in Thailand because they can not survive in their own country with the income they have. But they think they are the king here because they can live here on 1000 US a month. These people are no different than some Thais making 10000 Baht a month because they are their own countries Thais income wise. They think they are kings and queens here but they still eat 30 Baht street food because it's  cheap. Notify is off for this reply so I will not get notifications for my reply from smart asses. Those smart asses just need to get a life. I hope Thai government bans border runs for anyone so low life kings and queens can not stay here and Thailand gets the peole who will  spend money, I mean money, not 20 USD a day.

As a person who lived in So. Cal for 25 years I can say that Thailand humidity is not so different from the beach side of Ca.

your books will rot in long run If you don't run your A/C in Ca too. So run your A/C and save your books.

[Thai Wife In BKK Quarantine From USA - Suggestions!]

My wife just came out of the quarantine yesterday. Every person handles differently for being in the same room for 14 days. She can order dry food from outside including spices but not fresh food. This is the purpose of the quarantine right? Since she knew that she would be in the room for 14  days she should prepare her self mentally and she or you should thought about some time wasting things to bring with her. So you can blame yourself but no one. She can order toiletries,shampoo etc from outside tru hotel staff or by calling the nearest store, no need to know any friends in BKK, she can order anything extra at the hotel by paying for it. I know all these because my wife just came out of it yesterday.

Depends on what your expectations are. Personally I can't live in a condo. I love my space and privacy. I love grilling 3 times a week and nobody complains for he smoke. I love dogs and they can run in the yard. There are a lots of things you can't do in condo living. I'm 56 and living in a house last 32 yrs, I would never live in a condo.

It's not ridiculous and disgusting since we all know most foreigners rent a place for 3 months or so and they move out without paying the utilities. Companies are in the bussiness to make profit, not for community service.

Excatly! And many people were bitching about the closed  borders. They want the government open the borders so tourists can flow in to Thailand. People have no common sense who were and are bitching about that they can not travel  or no tourists allowed in to the country. I hope those people now can realize how dangerous is to open the borders. One little mistake caused panic in that province and possibly  few people  got infected. So that people are bitching like a little girl have to think twice before they talk and have to  use their common sense.

I stopped going there last century when it went trendy and expensive. Kicked the cheap places out ( like Charlie's hut ), destroyed the old Ark bar and built horrid concrete places everywhere.

Couldn't believe it last time I sailed past on the ferry to Phangan- concrete villas destroying every hillside. Used to be a great place to holiday- Chaweng is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, but ruined by greed and aircraft.

You're  right. We need tourist into the island who have money to spend. Greedy and low life tourists don't do any good for the tourism revenue. I think government will look into this after the  pandemic, they too realized that backpackers and greedy tourists don't do any good but just crowd. 150000 km on the Mercedes shouldn't be scaring you if it was well taking care off. You can drive them till 400000 km or even more if you take care of them like a baby. I am saying this as a former used car dealer in the USA. I have bought and sold many of them in my car lot. However BMW is a different story. BMW has to be driven on high rpm, you can't drive bmw like a grandpa driving his century old Cadillac and cruise around. If BMW has been taken care of by the owner who knows how to drive a beemer then buy it.

It's a myth German cars are more reliable. The best performing car for some years in America in terms of reliability and longevity is the Honda Accord.

As a former used car dealer in the US what I would say to you is Best performing cars in States and all over the world are Mercedes and BMW and few more. Yes Honda Accord is a reliable car and holds its value , but that's not the reason it's a good selling car in the US. Japanese cars sell good in the US bcz Asian population like to buy them. White race mostly like to buy German and American cars. There are japanese car buying white race in the US but they buy either luxury segment or real cheap models. I actually bought some years back a Mercedes as a whole sale with over 600K miles on it and car was still drivable. Nobody can go wrong with Mercedes or BMW if can afford it. For my opinion they are the best mass production cars.

There are no Thai citizens stranded outside. My wife left to USA 6 weeks ago and she is coming back tomorrow. Who ever is saying Thai citizens stranded outside is lying. Also who ever has work permit,Thai spouse etc are allowed to come back.
