You are making baseless assumptions - Thailand has dreadful hospitals and care is dependant on ability to pay. Ine of the most serious factors in RTIs is that Thailand has no proper emergency services, no trained first responders and no uniform, centralised ambulance services.
Thailand's hospitals are as good as most western countries. Treatment protocols are basically the same.

You speak of 2 completely different kind of expats. where 1 is the argumentative one (as you said) thinking he knows it all... And the other one is very often a complete novis, left everything to wifey and do not understand the process at all..
But I can tell you that there is a huge crowd of expats, knowing their way around Immigration and the rules, and are fully capable of performing an extension of stay based on retirement. I think that to achieve this level, you really need to show some interest and be part of the process, and not take the easy way out and sleep it out, and let old wifey take charge....
You talk as if it's not manly letting your wife organize everything. I couldn't be treated in a government hospital without my wife present, and many other bureaucratic necessities where an interpreter is vital. And actually, at immigration, you do go and sit in a corner while your wife arranges everything.

Yes - both the last 2 years that I have renewed my retirement extension, I left the country the same week. A marriage extension would not have been possible if I read things here correctly. And I did them at the earliest opportunity.
You can still leave the country while your marriage visa is under consideration.

Thank you for your reply. I can't do it myself because I am married and my wife and I have done the annual renewal since 1984. We've never used an agent. I'm just asking if there is any difference in the documents apart from what I've mentioned.
Only 400,000 baht in the bank.

This is one of the best reasons for living in Thailand. They don't let these loser "asylum seekers" flood the country, like our gutless countries do. No foreigners are going to swamp Thailand's culture.

That depends on his temperament in a relationship. If he's needy or thinks she must do as he say's. If he's a control freak. If he doesn't think he's getting his monies worth! IMO this sort of situation can turn south very easily. Maybe he should look for a retired nurse?
A "retired" nurse. I think he'd have more success with a "retarded" nurse.

Is that why he's in the scooter?
23 minutes ago, TallGuyJohninBKK said:All things being equal, I think he'd probably fare better with BOTH sexes if he wasn't reliant on a mobility scooter (if he has any choice in the matter)...
Unless of course, if he's an exceptionally cunning linguist, or has some other overriding qualities. ????
Is the scooter a two-seater? If so, he can show a girl? a good time. Like take them on picnics, trips to the temple, even go on the beach if it's 4X4!

No, I don't think so. I wish they reduced it to 14 days for all countries. Those who want to stay longer than 2 weeks are not real tourists. Many of them take jobs from local people and are involved in criminal activity!
What rubbish!

They'll use a drill to remove them. You'll have to have them redone, and this time, have them made in porcelain, by a lab. Composite is never successful long term, especially 8 teeth.

Just make sure to wash your hands thoroughly before touching the phone and computer. And then wipe the machines with wet-wipes. (But will only kill 99.9% of viruses.)

Someone suggested a Fibroscan , I asked her (GP) about this but she suggested wait 1 month to lose weight
Another a PET scan.
In the meantime I need to plan ahead , I'm google India cost is 50k for a liver transplant
Might be a good idea to see a psychiatrist. He might be able to tell what's really wrong with you.

Port Out and Starboard Home. It was written on the baggage trunks of the richest cruise passengers. The view was best on the port side leaving and best on the starboard side when returning. Hence these passengers became known as POSH ????
No, it was the position of the sun. You don't want the western sun on your cabin. (Or your Thai condo for that matter).

Appreciate the attempt to simplify torrid zones to black and white. It's not that cut and dried, as one tropical region might differ from another as applying to temps, humidity, altitude and seasonal wet/dry.
To be quite accurate - Thailand, per se, has three seasons
Wet going into dry and cool and then hot and dry.......so on and so forth.
Naturally, conditions will vary greatly from one local microregion to the other.
I reiterate....the tropics has 2 seasons, wet and dry.

Never saw the other thread but not surprised to hear of an insurance company wriggling out of its obligations.
This is the reason I self insure. When they cheated my mother out of a big pay out on my fathers death I vowed I would never give them a scent of my money.
Why would they want to smell your money?

Been using Thai dentists exclusively for twelve years. A third or less than U.S. prices. Quick, the latest technology, easy access.
I've been using Thai dentists for 25 years. I'm happy with the work and costs, (although starting to go up). I've had crowns, bridges, RCT's, fillings, and am in the middle of having an implant. The secret, I think, is to use female dentists. They don't have the problems of "face", "machoism", and racism that male dentists often have.

Also heard a number of Thais complain about this as well. Didn't matter if it was business or economy class.
Now I tend to stay away from Thai Airways as their fares are always more expensive than their competitors and the routing is never that convenient.
When disembarking on Thai air, the stewardesses usually do not wai a Thai girl traveling with a farang. Seems they've got the same attitude as Western women towards Thai girls!

You could copy & paste your answer aand add it to every question in this forum
this is a health & medicine forum , im asking what vitamins forum members here take , and the reasons why they take vitamins no use asking my doctor what she takes
many of the people on here have excellent knowledge of natural health related matters far better than my doctor
if you want to get into “qualified medical personnel “ as you call them , sounds good until you turn up at a medical centre and see a guy whose English is not good and has no idea what testereone is , and passed his medical exams because the parents had money in Mumbai or Shanghai so I’m not sure why you have any faith for qualified medical personnel nowadays ?
many of these forum members have life experience and knowledge far far greater than some 25yo kid from Mumbai working as a GP in a medical centre
A perfect example of why you ignore the ignorant, the unqualified, the uneducated and the insecure.

If it was your son, you wouldn't be saying, "he deserved it". Accidents happen, usually out of the blue. That's why they're called "accidents". It reminds me of the NHS talking about refusing treatment for hang-gliding accidents 40 years ago. Not many people injure themselves sitting on their fat backsides with a beer in one hand and the remote control in the other. Remember, it's the insurance companies who are scum, not the policy-holders.
