Why dont you use google ?
Well I think poster ryanhull stated it as well as I can.
If someone wants to post the cottect address for the Laos Embassy in Bangkok, they will have to type "Laos Embassy Bangkok" into Google .
The Laos Embasy website will be a lot more reliable than asking random people on TV

I did the Chiang Kong border run a few days ago and immediately came back into Thailand without any issues .
I have a UK passport and came back on a Visa Exempt Stamp and it was my third consecutive one from that crossing and nothing was said .
The two previous times that I left from there, I got a minor integration and was told that I couldnt come straight back into Thailand again, so I waiting for ten minutes in Laos and then came back

The last time that I went there to get a visa, about a year ago, the people queuing was 500

Upstairs on the 3 rd floor is a camera shop that does 12 photos for 100 Baht

Although you wouldnt be able to come back to Thailand , the very next day after you leave , because your passport is returned the day after you apply for a visa .
You could leave Thailand and come back immediately on a Visa Exempt stamp , which lasts for 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days (But you cannot do this at Maesai)
-
Last time I crossed into Laos, I paid 1500 Baht and they gave me 250 Baht in change, so there was no need to take US$

The OP seems quite proud of his "achievements" .
Its very easy to get banned from somewhere, Im not sure why he sounds so pleased with himself
-
No violence took place though .
They also didnt target you because you were a foreigner, they targeted you because they thought that you were more likely to have more things to steal than a local guy would have

My visa expires on the 6th of May. Does that mean I will be charged overstay of 2000baht? If so... seems a bit unfair.
As previously stated in this thread, you need to go on the very next day that they are open and you will not get a fine
-
If its a day after a long holiday, you should get there really early , like 2 AM, just to make sure you get served .
Otherwise it will be a 1000 Baht fine, if you have to go the day after
-
No. But you must go the very next day that they are open

I thought of changing my name and returning to Thailand but it seems like that is not a good option .My friend was blacklisted for life a couple of years ago.
Last November he came back after changing his name and with a new passport in his new name. At immigration he was arrested immediately and had to buy a new ticket to fly back to the UK within hours. He had a flight booked to Cambodia a couple of weeks later but they would not let him use that.
They have photo recognition technology these days , you would have to change your face as well as your name

The OP is in an unfortunate situation, due mostly to the unethical actions of others.
He is looking for a "workaround" where none exists.
Yes there are but not on here
"Not here here" because its not legitimate
-
From what I understand , if you get caught back in Thailand and they realise that you are already blacklisted, that would be classed as "illegal entry" and thats quite a serious charge

Ah, ok. That's good. Thank you. So immigration will give me a final 7 days just for asking, or I can turn around same day in Chiang Kong and get a new 30 day visa exemption (US passport) without any hassles. Is that right?
You will have to pay 1900 baht after applying for the extension and then you will be given 7 days to leave the country.
You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry at Chiang Khong with out a problem. The Lao visa on arrival will cost 1500 baht or $35.
Although they now calculate what $35 is in Baht and charge you that amount, rather than a straigh 1500 Baht
Since when and at which crossing?
Six weeks ago at the Chiang Kong border, I was unable to get hold of any US $ so I paid 1500 B for the Laos Visa, and he gave me an official receipt back with the calculation and 250 odd Baht back
-
Ah yes , I recall, the fake visa .
What happened about that ?

Surely you would have noticed the visa stamp, or lack of visa stamp in your pp?

Maybe he means the Masai visa run is no longer available?
The Mae Sai border crossing is into Burma(Myanmar) NOT Laos !
Yes, maybe he got Myanmar mixed up with Laos .

And you were very fortunate to get a VES at Maesai .
They normally dont let you leave Thailand unless you have a Visa to come back on
