  1. I used my Thai driver's license in the US for several months last year before getting my US license renewed with no problem. No problem renting cars with it.
  2. Actually, the problem is they don't restock th shelves. Just leave pallets and boxes of product in the aisles and keave them there so you csn't get to the shelves!
  3. Is this an advertisement for Siam Legal or did you really get taken for a ride? I got my retirement visa from the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. in July, 2011. I believe the fee was somewhere around $200. Very simple, no problems
  4. It really dorsn't matter other than the fact that they both absorb heat and don't cool diwn quickly, adding to the internal temperature.
  5. In my opinion, due to the lack of consistency in water supplies here, brass is the better option. We have well water, and even with the water treatment system, it plays havoc with anything metal. Even stainless rusts, which brass will not.
  6. Because the banks and car companies just care about making money! When my niece graduated from the university a few years ago, and having no credit history whatsoever, her bank issued her a credit card with a credit limit of 3 times her yearly salary. Go figure!
  7. No, it was the truck that lost control! Must be one of those new driverless vehicles.
  8. Was this a rhetorical question? Until they start enforcing laws and putting some "bite" into the oenalties, nothing will change!
  9. Exactly what I thought when I read the headline!
  10. You can find CLOROX on Lazada, but its not really cheap. 165 baht for a 2 liter bottle.
  11. Don't know why BOA doesn't send your credit cards. I have both my Thai and US adresses listed on my account with the Thai address as my primary. They send my new debit and credit cards directly here to me. In fact, I just received my new credit card last week.
  12. "Criminal penalties are meant for serious offenses"..........Like picking mushrooms!
  13. Believe it or not! According to the Land Traffic Act, it is illegal for a taxi driver to play his car radio when he has passengers.
  14. When are these idiots going to realize that GPS does not drive the car for you!
  15. My step son(Thai)gets his Ritalin from Khon Kaen hospital. So, yes, it is available at government hospitals. From my experience, medications are cheaper at government hospitals than at private hospitals. The downside is the long waits. The evening outpatient clinics at the government hospitals are an option. A little more expensive but much less waiting and still cheaper than private hospitals.
  16. Because once they get on a bike or behind the wheel of a car, all common sense goes out the window!
  17. Not sure where you're getting your info. I know its been a while( 17 years or so), but when I filed the K-1 for my fiancee(now wife), I was retired and my only income was my pension. Had no problems.
  18. Just the swinging of the skateboard in a menacing manner constitutes assault.
  19. Many laws in Thailand are passed without thorough discussion and therefore they often do not realize the ramifications. The anti money laundering laws are no exception. I go through the same thing making my monthly car payment which is in wife's name. Never had a problem using my driver's license as ID. Not a big deal. Just go with the flow.
  20. Yes. But until the drivers use the traffic lights the way they are intended, nothing is going to change!
