Thanks Joe, I am none of those, I was told if you had a tourist visa it was possible to get a 60 day extension on top of the 30 days allowed by the visa.

I have a Non B on extension of stay with a current work permit, my extension of stay finishes mid September.
I am trying to leave and return to Australia but flights are difficult to find with many cancellations or over the top pricing.
Is there any way I can not extend my extension and change to a 30 day tourist visa which gives me the possibility of a 60 day extension?

Thanks very much to you both, you have provided me with a couple of options to think about. Might try to get the extension done early and get the multi re-entry done on completion of the under consideration.
Cheers and thanks again.

Hello all, I have been here in Thailand for a few years now and my extension of stay expires in mid September. the last few times all the correct paperwork has been presented at Immigration and I have recieved an "Under Consideration" stamp, ie come back in 30 days.
This year I have a need to leave the country around September 21st. for about a week impossible to change that date.
Could some far more learned than I give me some advice as to my ability to travel while under consideration and what if any documents I may need. have a multi re-entry but that also expires the same date as the extension of stay.
Thanks in positive anticipation. Cheers.

Go and have a look at Carryboy.com they are located at Ladkrabang I understand from their website they might have what you are seeking. I have no idea of costs.
Cheers and good luck.

Good morning all, yesterday I needed to lodge my 90 day report and as I had just changed rooms in my condo I took along a TM28 to notify Immigration of my small change of address.
After a 4 hour wait my number was called and I took my forms to the specified counter, the charming IO asked me why I had 2 forms and I explained I had changed rooms in the building. To my amazement she handed the TM28 back to me and explained that because I was on a B visa I was not required to advise change of address.
Any one had this happen? I can only assume she was correct.
Cheers.

As a comparison I had to go to CW on Thursday 12th (Friday 13th was a holiday) to pick up my extension of stay after 4 weeks "under consideration". Getting the extension took a little over an hour. I had picked up a queue ticket for the re-entry permit on arrival at the same time as the extension ticket. It took 4 hours to get the first call on the re-entry to lodge the documents and pay and another hour for the permit to be processed into my passport.
My feeling is that the place will be packed Friday and Monday, so be prepared for a wait. All the best.

I am a little confused, single entry WP? and reapplying every 3 months?
I would conceed that getting an extension of stay in my case seems to require an increasing amount of paper work each year, but the WP seems relatively simple, but I'm not the one doing the footwork.
Due to my travel commitments the multi re-entry permit is an advantage and I actually find that I only need to do a 90 day report about once a year, so life is not that complicated on that front.

Is there some advantage in getting a ME non B visa? I sent my passport and application for a SE non B to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra as the Brisbane Hononary Consulate had closed. All good got the passport back within about a week. I then was able through my employer in Thailand to get a WP. That was a few years ago. Since then I get a ME re-entry permit each year and annually the company does all the work for an extension of stay and my WP extended for another year.
I think this is an alternative for the OP. Cheers.

As already said both are available at swampy but I have found to take the paperwork already filled out and make sure you have a couple of photos.
I have always found the staff there to be friendly and efficient and they appreciate it when you come prepared, but allow some extra time.
Check the location at checkin as the desk has been shifted a couple of times over the last year.
Cheers.

Photos are taken when you leave Australia also if not of you then certainly of your passport, so no fake alibi for you.

What about lodging the TM28 when I do my extension of stay at CW.

It depends upon the office you report to.
Some offices will want a TM30 form from your landlord to be filed instead of TM28 form.
I was reporting at Ratburana but I read that service is ending. I will be doing my extension of stay and probably a multi re-entry permit late in September, I will check with the apartment owner tonight about the TM30. Thanks Joe

I hope this is a simple query. I have lived in the same condo room for a few years now and this weekend I will be shifting to another room in the same building of the complex. Am I required to submit a TM 28 within 24 hours or can I notify my change on my next 90 day report due in November.
Thanks in advance.

I entered Sunday night at Swampy and the Priority gate, to the right and includes those over 70, was not manned, one of the uniformed staff took me around the corner to the Diplomatic desk, processed as quick as a local, and a lot quicker than the normal desks.

Forget PNG, as mentioned the authorities need to see compelling reasons for her to return to Thailand. She will probably get a single entry the first time and my lady has never had any problems at the visa centre off Sukhumvit, they just take the applications and make sure all is in order She gets a multi entry every year no problem but she still has to fill out the answers to the dozens of questions. Do you need a visa also?
Forget PNG and check out what is required to get a NZ tourist visa. Good luck from what you have said shouln't be any grief.

It is still open but moved to a new location and is only open from 5 am to midnight.
Info is here.
Thanks Joe, appreciated as always.

Is it possible someone can confirm the status of the re-entry permit desk at Swampy?
So many rumors, might be closing, closes at midnight, won't be closing, I would just like to know as going to CW to get a re-entry permit is a problem and I would be in all sorts of strife if I got to the airport to depart and the desk was closed.
Any update would be appreciated. Cheers.

Thanks Joe, yes I thought about flying back on 9 and about needing another re-entry permit as my old one expired with my extension.
Strange how the first extension was not done under consideration just granted, and this time has more documentation requirements from the company than previous.
The Immigration officers are all very polite, but the waiting times are extensive.

Thanks Joe, I would like to fly out on Friday Sept. 30. The whole thing is a little frustrating.

As predicted ended up with the under consideration stamp which creates another problem. I am required to report in person on October 11th but I am scheduled to be in Melbourne at that time. Can this date be brought forward?
What happens if I go to the consulate in Melbourne and get a Multi B visa, will my work permit still be valid?
Thanks for further guidance.

Thanks again Joe, you are the font of knowledge on these matters. That eases my mind some what.
We got caught time wise by requests for information not required first time. I thought the second one would be easier than the first but apparently not so.
-
Thanks Joe, I have a non B and my extension of stay first time was for 1 year applying for another year and my work permit is already extended.

Hi all, I am currently having my second visa extension processed. My current extension expires in Wednesday. Am I correct in assuming that if my application is not granted by Wednesday I will infact be an overstay and my passport would be stamped accordingly? What will the impact on future movements in and out of the Kingdom if this was to occur?
I just renewed my passport as the old one had only a few month before it expired and I understand one can't get a 1 year visa extension with a passport with only a few months validity. I would prefer not to have an overstay stamp in my new passport.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Thanks again Joe, all options are worth thinking about. It will all become relevant if I miss out on the Thai Airways flight to Sydney on August 31.
