3 in any one year period rings a bell, but i may be wrong.
I did 30 day entries for 14 years but stopped when it was becoming scrutinized and now do Non O's.
The last time it was explained to me by immigration, you can only do 3 in/outs (same day) in a year but you can do 3 x 30 day exemptions in any 180 day period.

And you believe those figures, you must be a bigger dipstick than the people spouting them. Well we all know the Thais are the most truthful superior beings on the planet ????????????
But if there really was an epidemic here the hospitals and clinics would be overflowing.... you couldn’t hide that in this digital age.

Australia think it was March 20.
NZ prior to that.
Almost every measure Thailand has put into place has come after (copied) what some western countries did.
They came up with a curfew. Actually mild compared to Oz where you had only 6 specific reasons to be outside your home.
Maximum gathering even in own home was 2 (excluding own house mates or family).
The one thing Thailand came up with was booze ban. Stupid in the extreme.
They dodged a bullet somehow. Please don't put it down to unique/clever management.
I don’t think following a successful plan is something to criticise as it’s obviously worked well. The booze ban, as much as some don’t like it, appears to have helped stem the spread by limiting gatherings. I am surprised that the numbers have stayed low, maybe more by luck than judgement, but I’m happy to be in a place that is opening up. Shame places like the UK and US seem unable to learn from Asia.

On top of it you can often see ratings of other customers there. Bars are a thing of the past. Mostly old people go there who can't use the internet. And at some bars the ladies are dressed as nurses already that these old guys feel safer. And booze? There are so many other places for it. Even in front of a convenience store you often can sit and meet friends. Why wait for a happy hour where you still pay far too much and feel unhappy because of this?
If you’re not a fan of Pattaya then so be it, although you appear to know a lot about it. For many people, it’s a place to meet up, have a few beers, watch a few ladies dance and just enjoy yourself. We go 2-3 times a year as it’s cheaper than Bangkok and just a fun place to hang out it with no need to dabble if you don’t want to.

Were it not for the US Saddam Hussein would still be running Iraq and terrorising its subjects.
The world owes America a debt it can never repay.
There is a strong feeling in Iraq now that looks back to Saddam’s time andthinks it wasn’t so bad, a time of stability when everyone had jobs, got paid, there was electric 24/7. He didn’t tolerate opposition but the majority of people had a normal life.

Not sure I totally agree. I really cannot see the Iranian army invading Western Europe any time soon.

If wearing masks is the best way to stop infection, then Thailand is right up there with the top countries in the world for preventing spread. Like it or not, once you go outside just about everyone is wearing masks. It makes a huge difference in stopping the disease.

As covid-19 infects the lungs and makes breathing difficult I’d imagine being able to cycle up to the temple is pretty good proof that you’re not carrying the virus.

If you can’t raise your glass and thank a 99 year old war veteran for doing a good deed, you really need to have a good look at yourself in the mirror. Congrats on the great walk, Captain Tom.

Do they even have a (reliable) police force there ?
Yep. So good that people don’t go out.

I agree that it’s a great time to do this, but those small bollards are going to cause so many injuries during Songkran next year.....and on a few nights out too.
Hope the highways commission are reading this.

If most of the tourists have gone home, who are all these people going to immigration every day. Surely it’s not like this normally so why is it so busy now?
-
I sincerely hope that they now see the benefits of peace and sit around a table to discuss a peaceful future.

It depends how you read it. People are asked to self quarantine and if they don’t comply they’re moved to government quarantine. It’s about protecting the Good people of Buriram.

Great to see the neighbours heading off to a family wedding now that the prodigal son has returned from Bangkok #Lunacy

The Buriram Passport app which showed live info around Buriram has been changed and this app is now recommended. Bye Bye Buriram app.

I realize there are a great many bored, old codgers out there but the idea of hiring individuals +60 with no classroom experience is going to be a waste of time. Further, only so many hours a day so while they have you dicking around in the class wasting time they could be learning something. Finally, pay was mentioned. Personally, as an administrator I wouldn't pay more than b100 an hour. Does 200b a day sound appealing? That's four hours if you prep for class.
If these persons are serious about making a salary, they should at 65 go get a TEFL and try their luck in the marketplace. But really no one wants a low energy 65 year old retiree. Double especially if not in peak of health. It's not happened because it's a bad idea. Schools don't need a bunch of old grandpa running around griping about this and that.
Go get a job at a language school
If you give them some basic training, as I said, they could be employed. For most the money would be small but not the be all and end all. For students to have a foreigner to interact with would encourage more learning. It’s quite simple really.
-
Does it matter where they come from if they speak English and can teach? I’d love to see them create opportunities for some of the retired expats too, giving them a few hours a week and a little extra income. Training only takes 3-4 weeks if done properly.

That’s a huge some of money for many of these families and we should thank the authorities for setting it up so quickly rather than criticise. Imagine the uproar on TVF if nothing had been done.

I think the people of Korat will have no problem going back there, out of respect to those who died. Considering there must have been some severe damage inside I am surprised they got it clean so quickly.

I imagine every country does the same thing, so the surrounding countries are also boosting their figures when we do visa runs. It’s not just Thailand.
An end may be in sight to separation of Thai-farang families

Suwannaphum, plus my home province plus immigration crossing into Cambodia from Surin have given me the same answer.
