  1. Re LotusS: Looking at their registration page, they are asking for "Thai alphabet" and Thai ID only? Edit: Ah, seems just for that "membership program" which isn´t required to order from them. Just placed a trial order with them. Let´s see how it works.
  2. I am still struggling with them. The website is ridiculously slow to load pages, my favorites list has been decimated and ever since the relaunch the express delivery is not available to me (even though I pay for their "Prime" service). Will have a look at Lotus as suggested above.
  3. I am so fed up with them (not only based not this f-up) that I have now asked them to delete my account. Probably the reply will be: "Computer says No!"
  4. About 1 hour ago, they told me everything should be working fine by now. Well, it doesn't for me. I am still unable to get Express Delivery as an option (yes, also a Prime Member). What a f´up. Whoever approved that <deleted> from being Beta to go live should be fired. Shame that this won´t happen.
  5. I agree. The only issue I (seem to) have with it now is that they discontinued the M2 Air 15" and I would want to buy it in a configuration that I (at least so far) haven't seen anywhere being offered as "in stock" at other retailers. If I cannot use my 2012 I might consider the M3 Pro 14". But anyway, I'll see what will happen in the days/weeks ahead. Thanks @ozimoron
  6. Thank you @sometimewoodworker I was/am hoping to get my hands on one before I go on a trip on 28 March but if need be (i.e. the M3 Air isn´t avail by then), I guess I will have check if I can use my mid-2012 one more time before retiring it for good. 🙂
  7. Hi, Does someone know from past experience how long before we can order new Apple products on Apple.com/th after they have been announced by Apple? I want to order the new M3 MacBook Air and whilst it is shown on the shop´s Thai website, it cannot be pre-ordered as of the time of writing this post. It can be pre-ordered on the US and a few European sites already. Should I expect a delay of more than 1 week before I can order it here in TH? Thank you! DUS
  8. It is. You can chose between Thai and English commentary when using the True Premiere Football subscription which shows every single PL match.
  9. PS: With this new system not working for me, resulting in doing any future reports in person at CW, what documents will they want to see at the immigration office? And: reading regularly on here that people are often forced to file a TM30 and pay a fine when they are at CW to either renew their extension of stay or just file their 90 Days report, I am pretty sure most won't have any extra documents (like tenancy agreement, tabian Baan of the landlord/landlady if they are just tenants etc etc. So, does CW then just not ask for any supporting documents and just take the 1,900 Baht penalty fee or how does this work? I am so disheartend by this thing and my experience with the new site. I am tempted to just delete the account (if that is even technically possible) and pay the fine next time I have something to do at CW.
  10. Hopefully some nice person will be so kind to publish a "How to for Dummies" videos on how to file a new TM30 using this new system. I saw there are some for the old system but afaik not for the new one. I am just too stupid for the clever Thai IT. During the second half of Sep I SOMEHOW managed to register the address I am staying at as the "possessor" and added a TM30 on that day (took a screenshot once my details showed up on the screen). Came back from a trip including a visit to Malaysia, today, and wanted to do a new TM30 report but after 2 hours of trying and failing I have given up for the moment. Yes, I have added these gender fields where requested and yes, I have a green confirmed button next to the address but whatever I try to do and click I never get to the page where I can just enter my details for the "new stay" now that I returned from the trip. The screens are all very similar to what user Digitalbanana posted above. I am so annoyed and angry wasting all this time and still not getting anywhere. F...................
  11. As the OP of this thread, I would like to provide my personal experience after having done the same-day return trip „Narathiwat - Su-Ngai Kolok - Malaysia - Su-Ngai Kolok - Narathiwat, today. Maybe some TV-members will come across this thread at some point in the future and might find the update useful. Even with things constantly changing as always. 🙂 I left Narathiwat by van at 11:00. The van dropped me off in front of the border crossing at 12:05. Exit stamp in the passport and on my way over the bridge at 12:09. Only thing worth mentioning: The officer checking my documents had to check with her superior when I answered one of her questions that I plan to come back into Thailand in a couple of hours. After some checking and deliberations the boss was ok with it. Entered Malaysia at 12:18 and went for a quick walk around on the other side and had some lunch before making my way back to the border at around 14:30 Exited Malaysia at 14:32 Entry stamp for Thailand in the passport by 15:00. Your are asking why it took so long on the Thai side? Well, first of all the Officer recognised the batch/crest on the polo shirt I was wearing as that of Port Futsal and he loves both the Port Futsal and Football teams. He even made me join him singing a short part of a Port chant before he took my passport. Well, it was certainly helpful to have something in common with an Immigration officer for once. LOL. The other thing was that when he saw my TE visa, he called me into the back office and he showed it to every colleague there because he said that at this crossing they never see this visa. Some of the officers even took their phones out to take a picture of it. Lots of happy smiling all around , it took them a few more minutes to get the computer system to confirm that I was eligible for a 1 year extension. And after one more Port chant together I was on my way out of the office. Sometimes life is stranger than fiction. :)) Now sitting at the bus station waiting for the van back to Narathiwat. So, today, it worked perfectly fine for me. The questioning and double-checking of me wanting to return the same day (by the Thai officer when leaving the country), however, is an indication that same day returns might be problematic depending on the officers on duty. At least for visa exempt re-entries. Well, that’s just a guess of course. I also didn’t bother trying an instant return as the Thai immigration officer stressed that I should stay in Malaysia for a few hours before heading back. Not sure if returning immediately within a few minutes would have caused any issues but I surely wasn’t in the mood to find out and get stuck in the end. So, all‘s well that ends well ….
  12. You can sign up with True for their streaming service TrueID and stream every single PL game for something like 4k this season.
  13. Truevisions has a 7 day catchup service covering many channels including the sports channels. You access those recordings via the settop box they provide you with.
  14. Hi, I will be down in Narathiwat soon. Given the close proximity to the Malaysian border, I might be tempted to do a "border run" in order to get a new 1 year stamp when crossing back into TH. However, I would only consider doing it if I can walk across the border and then immediately return within 1-2 hours. As I have never done "same day visa runs" I don't know if this quick hop across the border into MY and return back to TH is something that can be easily done or if there are pitfalls with immigration on either side of the border if I tried to do it. I´d be grateful to hear from someone who knows this. Thank you! DUS
  15. I certainly will check online as well. So far, it is still shown as "pending".
  16. You might be right, you might not be. As someone who prefers to play it safe I don't like the "might not be fined" and "chance of rejection is low" game of probabilities, so I will head down to CW tomorrow unless the approval email finds its way into my inbox before leaving home.
  17. I start wondering if the reported increase in "last minute replies" from CW is just a new ploy to "force" more and more of us to visit in person, offering the guys there the opportunity to come up with new demands like "updated TM30" etc etc only to impose fines. Anyway, submitted online on Aug 16 and still pending. With me going on a trip second half of this week I will have to visit CW in case the approval does not come through by Wed morning. Still hoping for a miracle here, though.
  18. Same here for me (between Asoke and Nana). Same times you mentioned
  19. Hi, In the past, I went to BNH Hospital here in BKK whenever I needed to see a doc. BNH like other private hospitals are indeed very good but it comes at a price of course. 1 year ago I visited my first government hospital during a trip to Krabi when I got an open cut which got infected. Saw the doctor, got antibiotics for 1 week and paid less than 400 Baht for this. At the time, I couldn't believe how cheap it was. This motivated me to visit Chulalongkorn Hospital here in BKK, yesterday. Went there on an appointment, waited roughly 2 1/2 hours, saw the doctor regarding what was then diagnosed as a shoulder cuff tendonitis and was prescribed some meds. Total bill was 1,919 Baht, including 469 for the medication (medical service 550 Baht, doctor fee 800 Baht) Now, I don't complain about the absolute price for the service as it is still reasonable of course. But being surprised by the higher than expected price (based on my experience in Krabi), I left the hospital with these questions: 1/ Was the fee I paid in Krabi an anomaly? 2/ Are government hospitals in BKK just always more expensive than outside the capital? 3/ Did I pay a "farang fee" at Chula? To be honest, I don't know what the 550 Baht "medical service" charge is (maybe I should have asked) but this is more than the "general hospital fee" or what it is called at BNH. Also, the doctors fee at 800 Baht compared to 1,200 Baht I paid last week for an assistant professor at BNH for a spine injury. Not a huuuuge markup for the latter at a private hospital. Again, I am not complaining about Chula´s bill and I will be happy to go there again in 2 weeks for the follow-up consultation. As I am likely having to visit doctors more regularly in the months and years ahead, I am just a bit curious to hear about your experiences with government hospitals and their fees. Yes, I admit, after the experience in Krabi I had HOPED to pay less than 1,000. For the almost 2k I paid I could have had a consultation at BNH, I guess. DUS
  20. Based on all you guys have said above so far it seems that I shouldn’t reallyworry too much about “overusing” the internal SSD of the Mac. The reason I asked was particularly due to the fact that you cannot replace the internal SSD if/when it goes belly up. But based on what you said and what I have read during my “research” it might be a good idea to add an external HDD for backup purposes. I’ve been using a WD MyBook 3TB HDD for a much longer time than what the say is the expected life expectancy of an HDD (3-5 years?). Are the current WD MyBook 4 TB external drives still considered to be ok for backing up your PC/Mac?
  21. It certainly does have lots of space especially since it is a 1TB drive. I am not familiar with everything tech, pros and cons of whatever, so with my system being new I wonder if reducing the usage of the internal drive MIGHT be beneficial in the very long run (10+ years). I come up with that 10+ years timeframe because I only just upgraded from a Mac Mini 2012. So for the last 10 years I haven’t really followed too much of what’s happening in the tech world, HDD vs SSD etc etc so I understand that my questions might be/sound very stupid to everyone who is tech savvy. But happy to learn more again …
  22. Hi, I recently bought a Mac Mini M2 Pro and am considering adding an external 1 TB SSD to run applications from and to store all other files such as all docs and videos. For the time being, I will not use the external drive for video editing etc. I am not very familiar with these things, so I watched lots of videos and read lots of articles on SSDs, M2 NVME, M2 Enclosures, USB 4.0/Thunderbolt, USB 3.2 etc. Now, it is always nice to have one of the fastest drives but it also always comes at a price. So I am a bit overwhelmed by all the options available on the market. It seems Thunderbolt 3/4 seems to offer the fastest external enclosure/NVME combos but they are also fairly expensive. If I just want to run my bo standard apps on the external drive (web browsers, office apps) will the cheap 10GB enclosures plus a decent SSD be (more than) enough? Any recommendations from you guys as to what I should look at for my use case? In terms of Enclosure/m2 nvme combo? Thank you!
  23. It's the website I have been using almost daily since I moved to Thailand. I hope it will come back online soon.
  24. Hi, After maaaaaaaaany years of performing admirably, one single key of my Apple wireless keyboard suddenly stopped working. It is the letter "j" which I now have to copy and paste into my texts. I already removed the plastic key from the board and cleaned it as well as what was underneath it but whilst it presses down just fine like all other keys there is no input from it. If I may, I'd like to ask a few questions hoping that some of you might provide me with some clues, tips or directions: 1/ Other than what I have done so far (removing the key and cleaning it) anything else I could try? 2/ Would you expect local shops here in BKK such as those at MBK or Fortune Town to be able to fix it? Is it worth going there? 3/ I expect Apple wouldn't care about replacing a single key on such an old keyboard, or would they? 4/ If all attempts to fix the issue fail, I would need to buy a new QWERTZ keyboard with "German keyboard layout". Unfortunately but of course not unexpectedly, Apple Thailand only offers TH, US, Japanese and Chinese versions only. I know it it is a long shot but would anyone of you happen to know if sellers at MBK, Fortune Town or any other places in BKK have QWERTZ German keyboards? I had a quick look on Lozada and there seems to be one seller of it in Thailand with all other sellers overseas. Oh, does Apple Germany ship to TH? I will need to check that. If they do, should import duty etc to be an issue for me once it arrives in LoS? Well, enough questions for now. Would be grateful to receive some feedback/help! Cheers! DUS
